Best Car Holster?

I want a holster that will keep my Glock 40 secure, but ready to be easily accessed when needed. I was thinking the vulcan quickmag. Seems easy and effective, but i was wondering if someone here knew something better, or maybe a /k/ommando's company or some shit.

If you can’t just put it in the cup holder or in your own holster you’re a fricking dweeb.

Just duct tape it to the headliner. No one will look there and it's readily accessible in an oh-shit scenario.

Not as easily accessible as i would like it, i carry a glock in my car so i like the idea of a guarded trigger holster that can be secured in an accessible location, or some kind of mount in where the trigger is free, but the gun can be chambered when drawing. I normally just keep it in between the seat and center console, barrel down. Wanted a decent recommendation, but just got Black folk replying rn.

Find a rigid quick draw holster you like, and mount it to the side of your center console?

This. When I did PSD work, we’d simulate attack drills and getting spun out; rear ended; or the slightest sharp breaking will make everything in the vehicle that’s not securely mounted fly all over. Part of the drill was bailing out of the vehicle, responding to the threat, often via climbing over somewhere first in the truck so you don’t have time to collect your gun when you are already moving and possibly losing fine motor skills, hearing, etc.

In other words, you can only depend on a weapon secure in a holster on your person?

It seems the simplest and most easy-peasy but. Mounted holster seems fine. When in the hood or see a possible threat, I will take my gun and wedge it under my thigh (barrel pointing out and not at my kneecap) so that if I had to do some fast gas/brake, it is still retained by me but faster to draw.

I’ve been meaning to do this. I think a basic Kydex OWB would work and a lot have the grommets/holes in place already.

I zippied a cheap kydex holster into the inside of the pouch behind the passenger seat. Quick reach without even leaning over, it never gets in the way, and it's not visible from anywhere.

Put your foot on the block to the left of your pedals, push yourself straight until your body is almost completely straightened out, draw your handgun as if you were standing and sit back down or dismount your car to get off the X. You shouldn't have your gun off your body ever, you're gonna forget it in the car eventually.

If you weren't a Glocktard you would have a safety then you can do the leg tuck while driving. You draw similar to how I said, then sit the gun under your leg for easy access if you're going through a dangerous area or someone is road raging. You're basically sitting on it so it keeps it nice and secure, then you draw from between your legs. DO NOT try this with a gun without a safety, it's more dangerous to you instead of them at that point. You'll Glockleg yourself, a Glock's safety IS the holster and you must limit your tactics around that. Shit with a safety gun you could just stick it in your center console and fish it out if you need it.

Unfortunately the holsters for innacar are ones you can't use if open carry isn't normal. A chest holster (like the M7) or a heavily canted appendix like Andrews Leather's carjacker are ideal, but they provide zero concealment without a bulky overcoat.

I think it would make sense to drill a holster on to a suitable surface of the interior. Every vehicle is different so you'll have to figure out which are makes the most sense.

I've got a mount bolted to the center console in my car, sits right by my right knee. I can put an OWB paddle holster in it.

Lately though I've just been tucking my gun (inside of a holster) between my seat and the cup holders since I still haven't bought an OWB holster for my snub.

OP here, i went ahead and purchased the vulcan holster as it was kinda the best option that i was looking for and it was only like $35 bucks. If it doesnt workout or my gun doesnt fit, they offer free returns. Please continue to make reccs tho as ill be reading them to see if anything comes up that i like. Thanks boys.

A setup like the picture seems far too likely to prevent the pistol from entering into battery when withdrawn. Why not keep one in the pipe?

Consider mounting a flat loop as if it were a short section of belt to the underside of the steering column cover. If you use an IWB holster you could easily pull out gun and holster and clip it to that surface between your knees.

I imagine the best holster is going to depend mostly on the type of car you have and what fits where.

I drive a chevy tahoe 2010, so plenty of room for mounting something

What would you need a gun for in the car?
Which scenarios are you expecting to get into here?

Road rage, robberies, etc. i travel to the city often and just the other day i had some dude try and stop me w his car and probably rob me and my gun was in its holster in its bag way behind me and it kinda just turned something on. I need some thing that is more accessible but also just not in my fricking cup holder or something

That is the intention. I carry a glock so i either need a kydex holster that shrouds the trigger or i can Israeli carry and use the holster to charge the pistol while also being drawn. It can also just be drawn normally if i decide to just put it there with one in the pipe anyway.

Anybody got a recommendation for a quickly accessible no-drill solution for keeping a Glock 32 (or 19/23) mostly outta sight in a 9th gen Accord coupe?
My favorite 4 o’clock IWB holster is less than ideal for comfortable quick access from the driver’s seat.

In a holster attached to your belt. It should go where you go.
