Where were you, or rather when did you accept the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact as your new carry gun?

the whole thing just kinda feels like an artificial bandwagon
at least beretta is a cool company though

there is that, it's a "new" gun and so therefore is new content for youtubers to do. It's something most people haven't seen before so there is curiosity getting people to watch the videos. Behind that, it's actually a good gun that fills the niche of a small DA/SA carry gun.

      I'm enthusiastic about them, I have 6.

What niche would you say a DA/SA compact fill? I don't say that sarcistically, I'm just curious what the advantage of that would even be? Most DA/SA guns seem to me a steeper learning curve to git gud.

pretty sure this is Ernest Langdon doin ghis "hype one gun every year or so then selling an overpriced custom version of it for $3000. Good grift but doesn't mean it's a good gun

The esteemed Ernest Langdon has never charged 3k for a handgun. 2500 is the most he's gone and several hundred of that is the optic, light/frame comp, and magwell.

Yeah, that's why you need to buy one now before the prices go up. 🙂

his FOMO HK videos are very evidently just upcharging you on something that's mediocre compared to other guns he sells, his 92s/PX4s blow his HK DA/SA guns out of the water IMO

requires a frick ton of mods and work to be a "great" gun.

only "mod" it really needs is the trigger bar to get the short reset and a new hammer spring. James is just shilling the full package. Even then I think the optic cut is a must since the gun to me doesn't flip alot and to take full advantage of that you need a dot. I was doing really good in rapid fire today with it. All in or close to the A zone, didn't have a timer though.

DA/SA guys like DA/SA, I like it since I can practice hammer control so I hold the hammer down when handling the gun. It makes it impossible for the gun to go off since the hammer can't move, so holster and administrative handing is a breeze. My first gun was a Beretta 92 I already that momentum. I've carried SAO guns like 1911s, I feel much more comfortable carrying a hammer down DA/SA.

      >frick huge compact you need to practice for ages to get comparable performance out of
      i don't get it

I will sacrifice size for shootability, but not go as far as carry a full size. People carry Glock 19s all the time.

Beretta makes cool guns but they tend to be expensive for what they are. As for OPs youtube video, just seems like an extended paid advertisement for Langdon Tac...kinda embarassing to post this and think it means anything.

pretending to shill/actually shilling it is an inside joke from /hg/, I'm just very enthusiastic about my gun

Prices on Berettas are already through the roof. Who cares? Wait 2-3 years and they'll go back to normal when all the consume-pigs move on to something else.

I think Beretta losing the M9 contract meant that Beretta prices will permanently trend upwards, they've already done across the board price increases (probably thanks to inflation) and Beretta USA has been putting out these stupid frame safety/control 92s that no one except people who don't buy Berettas asked for.

The PX4 just recently has started to trend upwards, you can still find them used for cheap.

If PX4 prices go up because of M9 scarcity, you've just proven how moronic the average consume-pig is.

If anything you've basically just convinced me to buy a used milsurp m9 that has actual heritage than a PX4

Unironically Langdon Tactical has some partnership w/ Beretta. They even do shot show stuff together. They paid him to get them back into relevancy with the guntuber hypebeast goonsquad crowd. I'm not saying they're bad guns, but the recent never ending hyping of berettas kinda proves the entire game is based on fads and hype.

I'm very happy with my Legacy Holster Co PX4 Compact holster, they're doing a 15% off sale right now, recently they did a promotion you got a free FRICK JOE BIDEN flag with every order

there are no milsurp M9s unless they were stolen or given when someone retired. the Commercial M9 is very close, you don't want a real surplus M9 since they're beat to shit and never received the slight improvements Beretta made over the years. Most the M9s problems were solved with the Gen 3 locking blocks and the M9A3 but Sig Sauer had a new CEO and game plan.

They did stuff together like the Compact Carry in 2014 or whatever, but specifically this year was that collab guns they did which was the PX4 GSD and PX4 Compact Carry 2. They also collabed on Beretta 1301 upgrades. I love Berettas so more things to buy (I actually hate most of their modern line up with the frame controls) but I see the shilling stuff you're taking about, James Reeves did not do a good job hiding it. Langdon has dirt on him.

They seem to be doing alot of things together now, I heard at one point Beretta and Langdon (when he was a comp shooter) were not on speaking terms, he was shooting Sigs instead.

Some schizo is invading my thread about the PX4 and ranting about how im you OP. Does this gun normally bring out the schizos on here?

I'm a very recognizable poster, but that guy is in jest, not going schizo at all.

It's a coincidence that we both have PX4 threads. You could have at least checked the catalog.
