I would argue that pretty much every modern semiauto defense pistol that's $900 or more SHOULD have one, even if it's not "needed", in the same way they should have nice triggers at that price even though you can do perfectly fine with some heavy trigger as far as basic defense. It's simply not much of an ask at that point anon. There is a huge (and in fact far far far bigger) market for more reasonably priced non-gucci pistols and that's fine, people can have a barrel threaded or modify triggers or whatever else at that point and still end up with something cheaper. >Absolutely based, do you carry in the short config or the full config?
Full. It's cool it can go shorter, but it's a sizable hg regardless (though actually compact for HG+can I guess) and an extra inch or whatever doesn't really change the (lack of) CC factor imo, so might as well just get full suppression out of it. Balance is also really nice, it's a great gun to shoot. Pity they stopped production, wish I'd grabbed like 3 of them when they were $900 instead of just the one.
The real ideal next step per this thread would be the same basic design (maybe these days with 3D print improvements on top) but in 380 and thus significant smaller. That'd be a rad addition. But probably will never happen so long as suppressors are on the NFA. No matter how good they are, the market for integral guns seems to be too small.

target acquisition is objectively faster with a red dot over irons, and that could very well make a difference in a self defense situation.

I understand why you would want a factory threaded barrel for a suppressor, given your concern about protecting your hearing. However, I think you should take a step back and look at how niche your personal desire is, and consider that instead of wanting all barrels to be threaded to satisfy your wishes, maybe it should be up to you to just hit the aftermarket.
Why would I want this? When there are 9mm compacts in similar or out right slimmer size in comparison, also with 15 round capacity where as the 80x has 13.
This. I stopped watching/reading TFB in 2017 because all they do is shill. The "Guns not Politics" policy is in place at TFB to make it safe for advertisers and nothing else.
They don't shill, persay. They just follow the formula of most hobby magazines and talk about the things they review with enthusiasm. I mean why the fuck else are you watching if you aren't interested in the topic? Like, really, did you really think anyone would make a channel about guns if they hate guns? Who wants to watch that? Also Hop's reviews exists and his inability to express emotion should jive with you, if anything.

>They just follow the formula of most hobby magazines
Except everyone back then rightfully derided gun magazine articles as being glorified advertisements which they basically were, and weren't ethical in the slightest.
Except that Patrick got roasted when TFB assigned him the job of shilling the RAS 47.
Then Patrick pointed out that TFB was shilling the Honor Guard pistol even though it had a safety defect and then he was fired.
Also, all of your gun publications and their "formula of enthusiasm" had to eat their hats when they all shilled the Colt All American 2000 as being the best thing ever in the early 1990's.
Everything that I have told you is true and is the factual reason why I no longer have confidence in TFB as an organization. I'm not a big Patrick fan but go and look up the series of events that resulted in his ousting from TFB.
Shotgun News (now Firearm News) was also a big promoter of the Honor Guard pistol.

It is true and they are paid to be enthusiastic even if the product is unsafe as was demonstrated with TFB's promotion of both the RAS47 and Honor Guard pistol back in 2017.
James Reeves at TFB seems to be a nice enough guy, but you only get his real opinion on something when he isnt being paid to promote it. For example, when James makes a video on his own volition about the AK47 just to meet his TFB TV video quota he makes it quite clear that he doesnt like the AK47 very much, but when he is (presumably) paid to tour the Zastava import facility in the USA where they do their 922(r) conversions, then all of a sudden James appreciates the AK47 and all of the work that goes into it.
If you enjoy watching TFB TV or reading their blog then that is fine, just remember though that these people are paid to be excited about everything even if that excitement isnt justified.
Patrick, buddy, you're just an unlikeable person. You had less personality than a guy whose personality is not having one and somehow were less likeable than the rich kid who just straight up trash talked the audience.
I liked Hop better when he reviewed shitty PC games and budget handguns in .40S&W from the nineties. I don't give a fuck about generic AR-15 handguard nr869 or contemporary chink red dot nr263.
Weird 90s handguns that failed in the long run and budget games no one else will cover are a niche you can fill on youtube. If you pivot to AR parts and cheap optics you actually have competition. I know he also does night vision nowadays which I think is a good idea even if it doesn't interest me.
Same, but I guess the gaming scene has become a bit more crowded as more channels pop up talking about obscure shovelware. Still wish he'd do more weird budget blasters, old scopes, and AWB oddities
i fucking KNEW the retards on here who asked for a modern full-size .380 would find a reason to not buy one if it was ever made. you losers don't want your dream gun, you just want to complain.
But there's never been any shortage of compact-to-fullsize, metal frame, blowback .380s at any point in the past century.
Most people asking for "fullsize .380" were really wanting a modern, short-recoil pistol, to do for the standard carry pistol what the P3AT and its clones did for the pocket pistol, and many would prefer it to be polymer-frame and striker-fired too.
So the 80x is an answer to a question very few people were asking.
That said, 90% of everybody who ever said "I wish they made X, I'd buy one" wouldn't actually buy one even if you made it to precisely embody their specific conception of X and put a cherry on top. So I'm sure you're not wrong.
Also, this is probably the best .380 ever made. Am I going to carry this over a 9mm? Doubt it. Am I going to carry this over an LCP MAX if I'm running to the bodega for a sixer of rainbow can bud light, also no. I was a little disappointed when Beretta emailed me after the video ran to say that cocked and locked should NOT be done because they can't guarantee that the safety will work in that condition, gotta say. Even so, name a better .380. And don't say the Mustang either. Cool gun, doesn't work. Google it (the same place you guys who have never shot it but are pushing it found the pictures of it) https://www.shootingillustrated.com/content/this-mustang-won-t-run/
That is a good one. If you are going straight carry, that's a great option. I bet the Beretta would destroy it on the range but it's no contest for carrying. Not bad, anon.

>The guns not politics motto started when the blog itself started probably 12 or 13 years ago. I've been at TFB for over 10 years now. We don't need to convince pro-gun viewers that they are right, we need anti- or gun-neutral viewers/readers to consider that they might not be. Also I'm too dumb to talk about politics.
Its not about convincing anybody its about keeping people informed on the current gun law legal landscape. What we need is updates about the current gun control enviroment and info on who to support in order to thwart said gun control, but since TFB refuses to talk about "politics" in order to make their blog an advertiser safe space I have to go to The Truth About Guns in order to get all the latest updates on the legal front.
If I want 400 articles on SHOT Show I go to TFB, if I want actual useful information I go to TTAG or anywhere else.
>He covered the RAS47 and he covered (favorably!) the Honor Guard line of pistols, which I wouldn't touch. So if Patrick is the basis of your criticisms, thank you for validating his termination (which I had no say in, btw, I was not an editor at the time).
You actually just proved my point. Of course Patrick covered those products favorably, because that is what he was paid to do by TFB. The problems started, and Patrick got fired, when Patrick's conscience kicked in and he told everyone "Actually these products are garbage and TFB wouldn't let me tell you that."
Again, I'm not a Patrick fan boy and I have no idea where he even is now, but he got railroaded by TFB for telling the truth even when the truth was harmful to the reputation of the product TFB is being paid to promote and TFB fired him for it.
It's funny how you act like you know the things you want to be true, which come from, of course, Patrick, but you don't know the things you do want to be true.
Patrick basically did what he wanted to do in addition to what TFB asked him to do, so it's hard to separate fact from fiction. He's also the least credible person I've ever met. He told TFB he wanted to be promoted to editor or he'd quit, somehow not realizing that he was perhaps the least important and most unliked person at TFB and only got a job because of Alex. They said "ok, bye." He then asked for pay for a bunch of unfinished work he did since he was being fired. TFB said "you weren't fired, you quit." So he fucked himself with a rake there which was pretty funny. I also remember the Honor Guard thing coming up because after Tuohy discovered the P320 drop test, Patrick hit ever gun in his house with a hammer. No one asked him to do that. He made the P320 go off with a hammer (but not really - Yankee Marshall ROASTED him - and TFB, even though it was only Patrick - for that, and it destroyed our relationship with Sig, but you can find that story on TYM's channel). He finds out the Honor Guard does the same thing and then calls their CEO himself to tell him he's going to run a story on it. TFB tells him to stop mainly because Patrick built the very gun he bashed with a hammer and TFB wanted to make sure Patrick was correct, but he turned that into TFB protecting Honor Guard, who had no relationship with TFB whatsoever.
I'm not privy to what was discussed between Patrick and our bosses at the time (all of whom have been gone for ~5 years), but I have never been asked to favorably cover one thing or another in 10 years. Cf. Hop. Couple that with Patrick having a shit reputation for honesty & a vendetta against TFB and there you go.
>It's funny how you act like you know the things you want to be true, which come from, of course, Patrick, but you don't know the things you ***don't*** want to be true.
Sorry if that was unclear. I'm just saying it's funny that you will take a disgraced former writer with an incentive to lie at face value and as actual truth.
>It's funny how you act like you know the things you want to be true, which come from, of course, Patrick, but you don't know the things you ***don't*** want to be true.
I already posted the link from The Truth About Guns where their own testing verified Patricks conclusions, but here it is again.
Also, you are not helping your argument by inserting your own opinions and calling people "walking third trimester abortions". Is that the kind of journalistic integrity that the people over at TFB adhere to?
>Sorry if that was unclear. I'm just saying it's funny that you will take a disgraced former writer with an incentive to lie at face value and as actual truth
I'm not inclined to take anything Patrick says as true, but like I already pointed out with the article from TTAG, Patricks claims about the Honor Guard pistol have been verified as true by others. That fact wont change no matter what kind of crude names you use to refer to Patrick or Alex.
James, if it's really you posting here and not some larper, just put down the wine cooler and chill out before you REALLY cause a controversy for TFB. PrepHole will eat an e-celeb like you alive.

Why can't Beretta make a mini 92, like M1951 sized with a modern 1.5 stack magazine? Sure whatever, 380 can be viable. But the P365 is the standard. No reason to carry a larger 380. So make a 9mm.
Beretta locking block designs make the slides thicker than the grip, so I'm not sure a 1.5 stack would get them anywhere. Closest thing would be a 92X Compact, probably.
>It's not for carrying, it's for plinking with lower recoil and cheap subs
the 80 series was designed in the 1970s and it was absolutely meant as a carry gun. There are agencies that actually use this as a duty pistol (in like fucking Asian countries where the average height is 4'9" but still)
Am I good for getting a Tomcat .32 pocket pistol? My other option was the Cheetah but they were stupid expensive for an old gun (this was last year) and hard to CC. I have hand strength issues and recoil sensitivity.

If they’re shoddy quality, shot it, then take it apart and show WHY and WHERE corners were cut.

There’s this thing called a “magazine”, anon. And a Makarov’s “magazine”, being single stack, is very convenient to slip into a pocket.
BTW, Maks hold 9, 8 in the mag and one in the chamber.
As for grips being “dick shaped”, if you ever urinated standing up, you might find that making a “dick shaped” grip makes for a rather intuitive hold for a normal man.
Soviets and Bugmen were always more realistic about why officers are given pistols…it’s not meant for action against the enemy, but rather for against their own troops to induce THEM to take action against the enemy.
If you need more than a side arm, you have a discipline problem, and then you need to call up the NKVD formations to help you restore discipline and revolutionary zeal and fighting spirit among your men.

HOWEVER, it is confirmed that if you have an 80 series you have tiny feminine hands.
You're still based though, just based with itty bitty girly hands.
The world is mostly made for small to average sized people, I think. Guess guns are an outlier since they were mostly made for big soldiers or cops for the most part historically.

No matter how good they are, the market for integral guns seems to be too small.
oh shid
kek
target acquisition is objectively faster with a red dot over irons, and that could very well make a difference in a self defense situation.
>Look at target
>see blurry irons over target
>pull trigger
how can it be any faster? More accurate yes, but not faster.
I understand why you would want a factory threaded barrel for a suppressor, given your concern about protecting your hearing. However, I think you should take a step back and look at how niche your personal desire is, and consider that instead of wanting all barrels to be threaded to satisfy your wishes, maybe it should be up to you to just hit the aftermarket.
thats just the launch edition price
regular is around 750
>10g less material
>$50 cheaper than a 92fs
Amazing
That's 200 dollars to much come on
At that price I’d just get a ppk/s and pretend I’m James fucking bond.
.380 pk is dogshit.
Sold mine and got a 32
So much nicer, and never jams
I just dont like that reeves lawyer gay or his dyke boyfriend hop, simple as
Isn't Hop an unironic nazi?
No. He's a queer who cowered to the ATF because he's scard. Lil panzi bitch.
t. man with no career at risk
Too big to be as convenient as a micro
What does it have one lcp max?
If cheetah counts as a micro then where do even smaller guns like the LCP fall
Why would I want this? When there are 9mm compacts in similar or out right slimmer size in comparison, also with 15 round capacity where as the 80x has 13.
If you're a rich woman or geezer. Basically it's a fancy Shield EZ.
>TFB
no thanks
First cars now guns are lose their soul
What's next? Humans replaced with robots?
owari da
push this a bit further and we can finally get robocop gun. plz
It looks like shit. Why does Beretta keep doing these shitty "modernized" designs?
The safety isn't a real safety? WTF why give it three positions if they dont fucking work Beretta?
Surplus cheetahs are like 300 dollars, why would you ever buy this shit.
Shut the fuck up, brassfacts. You bitch ass hapa.
I pass as white to like 99% of people even without sunglasses. Only asians can tell I'm part asian. It's like some 6th sense they have.
brass facts always looks like some weird slav/mongolian to me. Like yul brynner or something with hair
My moneys on flip or moron.
99% my fucking ass. You look more like a chinaman than Elliot Rodgers.
No I've been extensively on the West coast. Hapas here are an frequent (unfortunate) occurrence.
>I've been extensively on the West coast
Oh you poor thing. I guess you got used to all the liberals if I'm the one setting you off.
>I'm the one setting you off.
What?
What an incredibly unhinged YouTube comment.
>White people don't call me a chink so I pass as white
LMAO you're delusional. Protip: whites pretending you're white and acting surprised and "interested" in your background is their PC way of being racist. Don't know why nonwhites don't pick up on it.
Anon, most people don't give a flying fuck about race at all. It's pretty monopolized by the deranged, broken, and ostracized.
>Most people don't care about race
Mate selection 100% proves this wrong.
>One aspect of socialization is every aspect of socialization
Interracial couples are also growing rapidly.
Maybe I should rephrase to: No one with a modicum of intelligence and mental health gives a flying fuck about race, but some facial geometries may be considered more or less attractive, which is a cultural thing, like when obese women were considered attractive.
>the majority from decades ago were retarded
>the founding fathers were retarded
You mean after decades of propaganda and internet psyops, less people care about race
Also clearly race means everything to leftoids who constantly push for """equity""" and less whites everywhere
Go back
You're broken, deranged, and need help.
Described a majority of your comrades there
Stay on reddit
>If you aren't a racist you're a commie
Proving my point, get help, it's not too late. It's not normal to be so hateful or deeply unhappy that others are allowed to exist.
>ignores everything to circle back to bad faith "argument"
Goodbye moron gay
You didn't even make an argument. You expect me to take it on faith that bigotry is somehow a good thing just because it used to be a thing.
Goodbye my sweet prince. May your reddit posts be forever blessed with bountiful updoots.
Well good thing blacks and browns don’t have a modicum of intelligence or mental health I guess.
TFB are shills.
You're the real shill. The thing you're shilling is pessimism.
>t.TFB
Everything that I have told you is true and is the factual reason why I no longer have confidence in TFB as an organization. I'm not a big Patrick fan but go and look up the series of events that resulted in his ousting from TFB.
https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/confirmed-honor-guard-pistol-not-drop-impact-safe/
Shotgun News (now Firearm News) was also a big promoter of the Honor Guard pistol.
It's not true. I know because I've seen the videos myself and they're what I said they are, which is enthusiastic reviews of the guns. Patrick smacktick. I'm not hung up on something in the past.
Honestly you look like shit too not hating.
I liked Hop better when he reviewed shitty PC games and budget handguns in .40S&W from the nineties. I don't give a fuck about generic AR-15 handguard nr869 or contemporary chink red dot nr263.
That's like saying you preferred Perun back when he was making videos about Phoenix Point.
I hope they come out with one that fixes the safety, removes the rails, and brings back the old grip shape.
Stop shilling your videos here, James.
Every. Single. Video.
>this gun fits entirely up my ass very comfortably.
>the best .380 pistol
this isn't a high bar.
You posted the wrong picture my guy.
>posts stock image because he doesn't actually own one, nor has he fired one. he just likes the way it looks.
>Get's mogged by obviously superior aesthetics
>Y-you probably don't even have one!
Based and truthpilled.
Lame and sour grapes pilled.
i fucking KNEW the retards on here who asked for a modern full-size .380 would find a reason to not buy one if it was ever made. you losers don't want your dream gun, you just want to complain.
James why does your brother keep embezzling taxpayers money?
Allegedly
Is this true?
So I'm sure you're not wrong.
>ask for a good full size .380
>get a shitty remake of a classic gun
I wonder why people wouldn't buy it.
NEVER seen someone ask for that here.
Who the fuck wants a full size hg in 380? That defeats the entire point. Full size just go 9mm. 380 is for making a microcompact pleasant.
>Who the fuck wants a full size hg in 380?
>"comfy"
>"light recoil"
>"makes larperators seethe or some shit"
how did we go from this...
...to this?
If Sootch likes it, then I like it :^)
kekked audibly
Why is brassfags such a smug gay compared to Hop? And I don't even like hop either.
Copious amounts of ADHD meds, to be honest.
I want to see it with wood grips before I totally write it off.
Why does this have a decocker but the xi is single action only?
Get out of here Pooh Bear.
If you're in the market for a .380 compact handgun, and don't get a Walther PPK, you're a gay.
>buy overpriced meme gun
No
I own a benelli and I think you should stop self shilling
Also, this is probably the best .380 ever made. Am I going to carry this over a 9mm? Doubt it. Am I going to carry this over an LCP MAX if I'm running to the bodega for a sixer of rainbow can bud light, also no. I was a little disappointed when Beretta emailed me after the video ran to say that cocked and locked should NOT be done because they can't guarantee that the safety will work in that condition, gotta say. Even so, name a better .380. And don't say the Mustang either. Cool gun, doesn't work. Google it (the same place you guys who have never shot it but are pushing it found the pictures of it) https://www.shootingillustrated.com/content/this-mustang-won-t-run/
>name a better .380
Sig p365-380.
That is a good one. If you are going straight carry, that's a great option. I bet the Beretta would destroy it on the range but it's no contest for carrying. Not bad, anon.
t. James
By the way, which editor are you (allegedly)?
I already posted the link from The Truth About Guns where their own testing verified Patricks conclusions, but here it is again.
https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/confirmed-honor-guard-pistol-not-drop-impact-safe/
>PrepHole will eat an e-celeb like you alive.
>biweekly garand thumb/paul harrell dicksucking threads
a redditor threatening to unleash the power of PrepHole is the most cringe thing I've read in a while
Let it go, bro.
>PrepHole will eat an e-celeb like you alive.
James and Hop both post here bro.
>No reason to carry a larger 380
It's not for carrying, it's for plinking with lower recoil and cheap subs.
>It's not for carrying, it's for plinking with lower recoil and cheap subs
the 80 series was designed in the 1970s and it was absolutely meant as a carry gun. There are agencies that actually use this as a duty pistol (in like fucking Asian countries where the average height is 4'9" but still)
I thought the new Glock 380 was the best?
no
Am I good for getting a Tomcat .32 pocket pistol? My other option was the Cheetah but they were stupid expensive for an old gun (this was last year) and hard to CC. I have hand strength issues and recoil sensitivity.
So they paid Levithan group for the best review. Better run out and buy it
Imbecile
I got to play with a 80x today, the trigger in this one is really fucking good
Are there any plans to release a 9mm version?
good news! It already exists, and is being sold under the name '92X'.
This is the guy that does the burnout on shotguns, (that are NEVER actually used in such a manner), as though that’s supposed to tell us something.
He’s just a little bit wrong here, though. The Cheetah is a fine little pistol, but the clear winner is the Makarov in .380.
Just the ticket for executing your Vatnik troops in the back of their peculiarly round heads after a drumhead field court-martial.
Wouldn’t pass up a Cheetah, though.
he literally just hypes any new shit a manufacturer sends him.
He also in his other videos basically admits that he thinks anything that isn't a Glock is stinky
tl;dr he's a basic bitch as well as a turboshill.
He seems to have a Jones against TurkRoach guns, and that’s fine.
If they’re shoddy quality, shot it, then take it apart and show WHY and WHERE corners were cut.
But blasting away nonstop for hundreds of rounds as fas5 as he and his cronies can pull the trigger isn’t telling us anything.
Shotguns aren’t operated like that.
As far as TurboShilling, he needs to make a living, and wants to shoot free shit.
He’s no Hickok or Paul Farrel or RevolverSam.
Makarovs suck because they have dick shaped grips and only hold 8 rounds.
I like the 80X and I am going to buy one. I could not care less what you retards think
/k/'s official stance is that all guns are based.
HOWEVER, it is confirmed that if you have an 80 series you have tiny feminine hands.
You're still based though, just based with itty bitty girly hands.
The world is mostly made for small to average sized people, I think. Guess guns are an outlier since they were mostly made for big soldiers or cops for the most part historically.
it a joek fren
And the writing on the wall said “all guns are based, but some are more based than others”
true but I don't see your gay ass out there operating with cowboy guns
