>its another ar15/ar18 clone
Total Eugene victory
Even the krauts have turned to the Stoner.
I’m sure it will be better than any sig shit. If it lives up to the arx and has a better barrel than xcrs it will be cool.
I complained about this when it came out but they were right
we'll be using AR-15s for hundreds of years won't we
That’s the beauty of getting it right the 1st time
Yes. And you'll like it.
what is this lever for? is it the killbadmurder button?
it just works
Probably for removing the handguard to clean the piston
Handguard or barrel swap
Its to avoid your barrel moving to the other side of the bed when you make it mad like the sig spears.
Nobody complains this way about the M2 Browning.
The M2 has style, most M16 variants had style, these carbine length AR-15 clones don't.
>this thing has subjective quality
>that thing doesn't have subjective quality
make a real argument some day
>Muh objective truth
The world is as you perceive, anon. Live a little.
sure, but define what "sovl" is for the sake of this argument
Anon, the army has been trying to replace the M2 for decades because it's heavy and overbuilt. It's just that every attempt at doing so has yet to work out.
It's a .50. It had better be heavy and overbuilt.
Because every single replacement is more expensive and/or shittier than the M2, it has already had numerous improvements since the original design to the point where it's extremely unlikely it will see a replacement in our lives.
if the Russian Kord had been developed in the west it would have already replaced the M2.
ARs on Mars
Narps on Mar(p)s
unironically we will be firing ARs off on other planets
Is it the upper/lower design? Is it the relatively easy modularity of the gun down to not really needing any tools past a couple hand tools to put one together? It just feels like it has a lot of room to accommodate near future plans.
Hell, LMT made some one off 6.8 uppers for the brits to try after the SPEAR was announced. Wether the full 6.8 loads wore those LMT uppers is another story, what it means is it’s doable on a short notice by just swapping out an upper.
>LMT MWS in the new 6.8
NGL, I’d rather that than the sig spear. Even with the quick change barrel, LMTs are friggin accurate.
m4s on mars gay
Looks to be monolithic like an LMT. hopefully it's not propiertary or overpriced lile that shitty pmx they released recently. Nah it's definitely gonna be both.
That's not an ND, that's a full blown "I will shoot myself in the middle of my hand with a .45" darwin award.
What the fuck?
So he's the asshole that makes every company print "gun can fire without magazine" all over their fucking guns.
Yeah. Its why many vehicle owners manuals say shit like “don’t wash car with gasoline”. The attorneys basically telling corporate “remember that one fucking retard who tried to sue us for big money and almost won a few years ago? That ONE guy? Yeah, the warning stays”.
it's not monolithic, you can see the split line in that pic.
lmt must still have the patent for that.
Love how only after the second shot, someone thought to yank the gun from crazy cousin (also brother-in-law) Abdul.
Muslims shoot guns into the air when they're happy or whatever, they seemed to be having a party. Didn't know they did it indoors too, though.
smartest gun owner
>7.62 Tokarev point blank obliterates palm
ouuuuuchhhh
lmfao retard
it's an MCX with a side of Ragu
by the sounds of it, it's more like an HK416 with autism
But the 416 is already autistic. I swear to God if I had a penny for every "It's an improved 416 made by former HK engineers" I'd have enough to buy a full fun 416
correction, it's an AR-18 with spaghetism
When can we get a classic ar18/180? I wanna larp innawoods as a fucking ira guerrila without having to pay 2.5k for it.
Why does every weird AR-18 derivative made recently seem to have a small tab of metal screwed onto the rest of the upper receiver?
Reinforcement for the cam track.
The standard AR18 had the same.
The Stoner system has the receiver wall prevent the bolt from rotating too soon by having the cam lug ride on a ridge. On sheet metal or aluminum that can grind away at material over 1000s of rounds. Over used AR15s often have damage done to that area of the receiver because of it.
I’d rather put faith in Beretta than Nu-Sig, even if Beretta’s last few entries have been big L’s for them, market wise, except their semi-auto shotguns.
AAAAAHHHH IM COOMING
all they had to do was give the ARX a better trigger and tone down the gassing. it really was a nice gun.
Doesn't matter, ARX looks stupid. It can't look stupid.
>mom can we have MCX
>no, we have MCX back at the village
IDK, an MCX made by someone other than SIG sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe it wont be shit.
>Another short stroke gas piston AR
I don't understand, what's the point of having the back of the receiver look like a pregnant whale if you're going to have a buffer tube anyway?
That's a shame. I wish they'd have just focused on improving the ARX instead of this.
I understand they're likely thinking that making it more like an AR will increase sales. However, most people that want an AR are just going to buy an actual AR instead of this. At least the ARX was somewhat unique and offered variety. It's Beretta so I'm sure it'll be fine, I just don't see it really going anywhere in a market already flooded with so many excellent AR pattern rifles.
>However, most people that want an AR are just going to buy an actual AR instead of this.
The Italians and some third world countries will buy it. Hell Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Poland, Qatar, Romania and Turkmenistan all bought at least some ARX's.
the ARX is a great grunt rifle. its easy to use and super lightweight.
>YAAAAAAAS QUEEN MORE AR15 LOOK-ALIKES!
>short stroke gas piston with rotating bolt
>ar-15 ergonomics
it's like that one theory of evolution in which every animal eventually evolves into a crab
>the future is Crabs driving crossovers weilding AR-15 lookalikes
I want off this ride mister bones
>the future won't be crabs driving woodgrain landbarges wielding A1s
it's over
>the NARP looks like an AR-15, but it’s not actually an AR-15
For what fucking purpose? They clearly have the ability to make brand new firearm designs, so why would they copy the (few) design deficiencies of the AR-15? For example, they could drop the charging handle design while keeping the DI system or something
Also, what was wrong with the ARX 160?
Because they want to win defense contracts and that's the most developed and optimized design. If you show up with something that isn't an AR derivative you will lose. Its like in interwar period everyone had some variation of the mauser.
They or at least the Italian military want more modularity, the polymer lower/body/upper of the ARX doesn’t lend well to that. They had some improved version with a metal quad/mlock rail for Italian SOF but they seemed to just make a new platform that is compatible with commercially available parts for customization
It’s probably more commercially viable
it looks like an MCX lower with a monolithic upper.
if all of these companies are going to make the same guns, they could at least make the parts interchangeable
I want it so bad
>Kept all of the shitty features of an AR-15; isn’t an AR-15.
Why? Why would anyone buy this over an AR-15.
Folding stock and piston. Meaning it isn’t a complete shit show in a vehicle and it doesn’t blast you in the face with gas when suppresses.
I shoot an ar left handed and i have never had a problem with gas in the face.
Suppressed?
Nobody cares about suppressors, that and having a piston gun does exactly jack and shit for helping gas blowback.
Hahaha
>every country that matters moving to suppressed rifles.
sour grapes lil bro
The only countries are the US which still isn't making them standard issue, every other nation only uses them in extremely limited capacity.
>go through the trouble of engineering a proprietary AR rifle
>don't put bolt catch that can be actuated by the trigger finger that isn't inside the trigger guard (e.g. LMT, LWRC)
why do companies do this?
What do you think that weird lever above the mag release does?
Exactly. Love this thing.
>People itt seething about the AR CH location
It's literally the best option. Seethe.
>What do you think that weird lever above the mag release does?
a bolt release, not a bolt catch. a lot of companies this when they should do both.
>It's literally the best option
You can't buy taste I guess
Patents, probably
>pic related
Still looks sexy. Damn those Italian designers.
what does it do better than an ar15 other than muh rail zero
Folding stock
it's a sig knockoff, but without the pajeet manufacturing.
one of those rare cases where the knockoff will be better than the original
This retarded gif again. Obsessed.
hi sigger, have they fixed it yet?
Redditor who bought a DIRV (lol, lmao) forgot to tighten screws to spec.
Post a gun worth more than an MCX Spear and I'll kneel bro
just because one was charged a gorillion dollars, does not make the object valuable. There is more value in a PSA shit stick than the garbage sig is hawking these days, and I'm not even gonna bother posting my tg36 (another $4,000 dumpster fire, I just like it) for your satisfaction, turbogay. have a nice day and set a wholesome leadership example for everyone in your marketing department.
Sounds like sour grapes man hahahahahaha...
Sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about at all and are trans maybe?
t. Sneed garden gnomer exec
Looks nice besides for the overused and overrated Magpul stock. The grey color option is very nice. Better than tan being the new black.
No way... a heavier MCX developed by the company that made the legendary... uh... ARX100...
This is Beretta so it’ll be good. They basically invented guns as we know them 500 years ago. That being said, it’s just a knock-off MCX so they can try to undercut Sig and steal contracts from NATO militaries.
Mcx in 5.56 weighs in at 8.1lbs. Beretta claims this is 3.2kg or 7.1lbs. So a full 30 round magazine lighter with the same features and non MIM parts from India.
16" Spear LT weighs 7.5 lbs...
11.5" weighs 7 lbs
please use Google before posting something like this
Oh. Is the spear LT really half a pound lighter while basically being the exact same gun with tanodizing?
It's not the exact same gun at all.
Please stop posting about things you can't afford and know nothing about.
Good on you for monitoring the thread though.
Tell me the differences. How are the actions different?
https://vocaroo.com/17WjeeaiI3rg
Im not clicking that. Just write it out like a big boy.
what does it matter if the spear lt isn't the same as the mcx virtus?
anon was talking about the mcx weighing 8.1lbs, not the spear lt
The Spear LT is the current generation of 5.56 MCX.
SIG claims its 7.5lbs. I have no idea if that's accurate or not. I'm not buying a SIG. But either way that's pretty chonk. My 16inch AR with exps3 and magnifier weighs slightly less. With optic, peq and light I can see the Spear LT hitting 10lbs.
Okay idc you’re mistaken
Anon I just looked up what they had on the site. Take it up with them.
Bro my FN SCAR is about the same weight as a SPEAR LT
I've shot both + the SPEAR M5 or whatever at a range and kept trying the M5 choked up because THE MAGAZINES SEAT TOO FAR IN
lol wouldn't be the first gun SIG made that didn't prevent over insertion. If you do that to the P320 it fucks up the FCU.
The og mcx is the lightest. It's a 6.5ish lb gun with a bendy rail. Second gen went full retard and was an 8lb gun with thick barrel. LT variant is in between with a medium barrel profile.
It's the exact same gun, but made with some titanium parts (the way the ngsw gun was) so they can charge you through the roof for a rifle that's *still* heavier than an AR, no more reliable, and in the same caliber
Not true at all... please man just stop posting poor people stuff like this... you have no idea what you're talking about... jesus
Beretta is working overtime, huh? Pic related was from today.
>NARP
Incredibly stupid name. This looks like a downgrade from the ARX in terms of weight and features. It only exists to meet government solicitations that are written specifically around the MCX.
>Beretta releases a new rifle
>it's just an AR clone
Stoner won, America won.
>Not NARF
I wish they'd gone with a long-stroke piston design similar to PWS. That would differentiate it from the AR18 and the Sig MCX.
>No fish gun
WACK
The ARX is an ugly, plasticy, mattel super soaker piece of shit and I cannot believe people actually defend it.
It was cheap as fuck towards the twilight days of beretta actively exporting it here. Same thing’s happening with their APX, seen it on sale for $350~.
Honestly, I’d buy a revised PX4 that’s OR if they go that route, but I doubt Beretta has a stomach for that right now.
The px4 is getting an A1 variant. That's per Beretta (meaning literally Mr. Beretta) himself. It's a cool gun but anything not in 5.7 is really 10yo tech now.
A PX4 with an updated slide, better rail, and frame mounted decocker would be a pretty fucking amazing pistol.
>5.7
bro, why are you going for an even more anemic caliber? You’ve already lost a portion of the appeal by shooting it through semi-auto. Nevermind the rarity and price of the supposed anti-armor ammo.
>Ftlbs of energy poster
Based retard. 5.7 was literally designed to be a better cartridge than 9mm and it is.
You spelled .357 Sig wrong
Source?
Tfb interview with Mr Beretta.
The first big run of plastic shit from Beretta has been a complete tragedy. Although I didn't think the APX was as bad so I'm a little surprised.
fuck you CX4 is cool as fuck
>another AR
>still no folding stock
>still horrible charging handle position
No thanks.
But it has a folding stock
on a long enough timeline all western assault rifles convergently evolve into an AR-15.
Its amazing how ahead of its time the stoner design really was in both internal design and external ergonomics. Truly a gun for the space age.
>forward assist
Trash
it can be removed
How much is it gonna be?
$1,600 MSRP and only after 2+ years of fulfilling the half dozen or so military contracts. List prices will probably end up being double that after it hits the market and then it will slowly die off below MSRP.
Why continue to keep the dumb T-charging handle+forward assist set up?
Literally no justification for it.
Milfags hate change and that’s what they want.
But the Italians and random thirdies, the main markets for this, don't use that set up at all.
Maybe some of their special forces groups do, but the average grunt has never used an AR system, so there is no legacy.
NATO militaries will buy it since they always copy what Big Brother America does, and this rifle will be produced in yurop and therefore cheaper for them than the Sig.
the us military isn't using this retard, they have no manual of arms molded around ARs to worry about
But plenty of euros mils now do.
>But plenty of euros mils now do.
so the AR is winning and proliferating?
good, the best option is winning, as nature intended
It's not the best, it's just common. More people drive Honda Civics than Maseratis but that doesn't mean it's the "best"
Competition shooters around the world overwhelmingly use ARs. Special forces units around the world also overwhelmingly use ARs. What is better?
Manual of arms/training. This is one area where I think the XCR and FAL really nailed it. Also pic related.
Always like this. I'm interested in knowing what the final commercial product of the Glock piston gun will look like.
THIS IS THE M5 WE DESERVE RRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
It is wild, the FAL already solved the issue of having a charging handle that didn't get in the way, one that could be used as a forward assist, and one that was easy to use with the Western doctrine of rifle use, 70 years ago.
The AR ended up where it did because of a series of design changes and organic evolution, it shouldn't be emulated like that.
if only we could get the FN FAL and the SIG StGw57 to copulate
>thE PrOduCt alReADy adApTed tO rEaL coNditIOns, iT mUst be baD thErEfoUR
The T handle came because the original under the sight riser/carry handle got too hot.
The FA came because the T handle didn't allow for the shooter to add some forward pressure to the bolt to close it.
The evolution wasn't ideal nor planned out ahead of time. It was one semi-optimal choice that led to a less than optimal choice afterwards.
Had the AR15 started off with a FAL like design, it'd have stuck with it forever without much change.
>The T handle came because the original under the sight riser/carry handle got too hot.
No, they changed it because the charging handle under the carry handle couldn't be easily accessed in winter clothing, as per stoner himself.
Jim Sullivan says it was because of the heat. ~2:45
stoner says in his interviews it was from arctic testing in alaska
I doubt either of these gaybos are correct, it probably was changed because some general thought it would be cool. It's more believable than either of these hacks.
?si=s10WAjRCTtWlnuId&t=3705
Again, the rifle's problems being fixed, isn't a problem, you're just a retard.
You can take or leave the forward assist but the AR charging handle is the best charging handle.
The most shit take on this whole thread. The T is a terrible design, but then again so is DI, the buffer tube, and the forward assist.
>Doesn't explain his reasoning or give evidence.
I'll gladly disregard your retarded opinion.
I'll gladly do the same for your retarded opinion on the T-handle too
>Still incapable of explaining his point. Just insults.
>Still blissfully ignorant of his hypocrisy
kek, I'll refute your retarded points when you actually provide some. Until then I dont have to do shit.
So this is basically a SIG MCX that weighs less, WITH similar/same features, from a family owned company, without Indian manufactured parts, without the brand/lifestyle tax…
Should be a winner tbh.
Its also cheaper and better. Too bad it has a proprietary lower, even the mcx upper fits on a cheap psa.
Who gives a flying dong. You say this like beretta would ever just sell uppers.
the UK rifle competition that ended with them getting that KAC rifle specifically asked for an AR type rifle, that's why everyone is making AR type rifles now, militaries are asking for them by name.
Not a lot of room to make your own thing in that case.
Better than the fat new hunk of shit by iwi
The Magpul CTR stock is truly the most apex attachment of our time.
So when will this hit shelves?
Seems to take about 18-24 months between beretta product announcement and it hitting the US market, regardless of whatever it is. The A300 patrol and apx a1 being notable exceptions
Manufacturers are so lazy nowadays it's unreal. And don't give me that "this is what the market asked for" shit, picrel is a fake quote but it's very true. Browning didn't care what people asked for early on, he made guns so good that within a few years everybody wanted them. In this business you either innovate or die. Any company getting by with Glock and AR clones is a dying company.
>t. Kel-tec
This doesn't look any different than the million other basic bitch ARs and probably won't perform any different, either.
Beretta doesn't know how to be different anymore. At least the ARX has soul.
It's just a Beretta MCX
I love Beretta and wish them the best but my AUG isn't exactly shaking in her jackboots
Why does it only have one like or mlok?
>NARP
ugly
>have one opportunity to name a new firearm
>choose "narp"
Multiple obvious design flaws immediately visible from the outside. In 2023, when rifles are a solved problem. Did some random intern design this? Couldn't they afford to hire an actual engineer?
With some slight modifications this can be the perfect rifle
Agreed. But the US Army is run by idiots.
Yeah
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
No I’m thinking something more like changing the charging handle, the disassembly method and the bolt release for starters.
Is the AR-15 the crab of the rifle world? Other rifles keep turning into ARs like some kind ARcinization.
Could be a decent MCX alternative stateside if they don't price it retardedly but knowing that this is Beretta, well....
why would Beretta abandon perfection?
see
Something to see at Shot Show
>announce new rifle
>it's another ar-15
bruh the .223 ptr is going to be an ar-15 isn't it?
Bullpups.
i like it. hk too expensive and sig will abandon the current generation of mcx in 2 years, so i'll cope with this instead.
Looks fairly ambi. So basically an MCX thats a little lighter, from a company that doesn’t use Indian made parts and doesn’t try to pass off unfinished guns on the market for beta test.
Love my apx. It shoots really damn well and doesn’t feel as cheap as a glock but cost way less.
that's a fat ass hammer pin right there
I like side charging AND T-handle
This is quite possibly the only thing worse than JUST the T handle.
Why don't people do folding side charging handles G3/L1A1 style? Shit's cash and gets rid of the "nooo it catches on my kit" whingers
Does it take AR mags? Or did they make it use a proprietary mag for no good reason?
all the pics show STANAG style Lancer AR15 mags
Looks pretty rad. I hope they come up with a less retarded name than NARP when they release it on the civilian market.
