Yeah, if Poland gets involved, it will be to mog Belarus while Belarus is trying to jack Ukraine.

Poland could flip the script on Pussolini by declaring it an SMO to re-establish Polish clay and call all ethnic Poles into Warsaw's fold.

Monke's ass would clench so tightly that his eyeballs would pop out of his frickin' head, but as long as Poland made it clear that their beef was ONLY with his Potato , what's he gonna do?

And this kinda shit could easily spread eastwards...I mean how carefully drawn were the borders between the Uzbeks and the Tadjiks and the Kyrgyz?

Within a few weeks or months, Pussolini looks out any window of the Kremlin and sees his border regions and buffer states all in fire.

Moscow was nicknamed "The Center" because that's where all the spiderwebs holding the jailhouse of nations together ran from, and now the center is weakened...

      >Belarus army would be slaughtered

      Wrong.

They wouldn't even bother leaving their barracks.

Every Belarussian conscript has had 11th months to watch the infinitely better-armed, better-funded, and better-equipped Russian Army get slaughtered and have their deaths gloated at by Ukrainians in the field and their supporters online. And unlike Russia, Belarus has no Z-Culture to drown out the overwhelming domestic opposition of Belarussian mothers and wives to having their sons and husbands sent to the slaughter. There is absolutely no reason why a single Belarussian should give his life fighting Ukraine on Russia's behalf.

The army is the reason he is protected. He also has thousands of Russian soldiers protecting him. They don't do shit to Luka on the understanding he doesn't do shit back to them. Therefore why would soldiers who aren't pro-Luka be willing to go die in a war that doesn't involve them directly?

The Army made it clear that if Luka tries to send them off, he'll be hanging from his balls in short order instead. The only reason Luka has managed to hang on for as long as he has is part Russia acting as a bouncer and part him being smart enough to understand that he is only allowed to rule as long as a rebellion/coupe would be too much of a pain in the ass.

If Russia invades Belarus, I'm pretty sure that's a red line that results in NATO immediately starting airstrikes on Kaliningrad and in Ukraine itself. At the very least, Polish-speaking soldiers will start showing up on the streets of Minsk.

Why would NATO get involved? In one wargame, when NATO decided that Russia would use nukes to destroy aircraft carrier groups in the Baltic sea the agreed response was not to nuke Russia but to nuke Belarus. The West wouldn't step in to help Belarus unless Belarus asked for help. If they did, then the West might in it meant flipping Belarus to the West... but they could also just go 'Nah lol' and let Russia frick itself more and show the world that Russia is a rabid dog that needs to be put down or left to starve. Sadly India (despite Russia stealing tanks from them) and China are cucked and will gladly buy from them. Plus the mighty North Korea and Eritrea.

                >In one wargame, when NATO decided that Russia would use nukes to destroy aircraft carrier groups in the Baltic sea the agreed response was not to nuke Russia but to nuke Belarus.

I'm pretty sure they've thrown out all of the pre-2022 war-games and that the current NATO response to any Russian use of nuclear weapons would be massive retaliation. Russia at that point would essentially be a rogue state and the only means of guaranteeing that they won't launch a First Strike on NATO out of desperation is to beat them to the punch.

                Anonymous

My point wasn't about nuclear weapons, it was more a joke on how NATO doesn't give a shit about Belarus. That even in a theoretical wargame where Russia uses nukes, the response is to nuke Belarus, an unrelated (in the context of the wargame) party.

                Anonymous

Well Belarus houses Russian military bases so the attack would most likely be on one of those rather than just glassing Minsk for the lulz. NATO still gets to kill thousands of Russian soldiers in retaliation, but not on Russian soil, so there might be room for them to back down.

                Anonymous

not really a plan, just one response in a wargame series that was ran under obama. the actual result of the wargames was the realization that the US doesn't have to use nukes to achieve nuclear-scale economic damage anymore thanks to its huge stockpile of PGMs, so the US's response to a nuke being used went from nukes-means-nukes to maybe we'll just treat you like iraq (part 1).

                >and China are cucked and will gladly buy from them
I'm not so sure about that, they've already been way less supportive of Russia than expected and if it comes down to it they can afford to lose Russian trade a lot more than they can afford to lose NATO and whoever else goes along with sanctions etc.

Invading Belarus might also be the last straw that causes some of the Stans to tell the Russians to frick off, a lot are already barely under their control, and losing the ability to send trade through them might frick things up pretty badly in terms of India.

I'm curious how many "Ukrainian separatists" are left.
They used them as meat shields earlier in the war and we assume most are now dead, and they conscripted basically every male Ukrainian that was of fighting age in the Donbas, so why are there no longer a ton of videos from them?
Are they all dead? Did Russia systematically genocide eastern Ukraine of all it's men by forcing them into the military even if most of them were never proper separatists?

At this point, I think it's more likely that Belarus will switch sides and join Ukraine than invade it.

Let's say the Monke gets so assmad that Luka won't join him in his NATO-assisted suicide that he orders Luka be deposed and a more compliant leader installed. Assuming they could even kill Luka (which I highly doubt, he's very cunning the way that Tito was), all this would result in is the Belarussian Army mutinying and refusing recognize the new Russian puppet leader as legitimate and being able to count on their own population to support them. If the Russians try to invade Belarus to force it to join the war, NATO decides that they can't afford to sit on the sidelines any longer or else Russian chimpery is going to spread everywhere and airstrikes on Moscow start immediately afterward.

I don't see NATO intervening directly in a Belarus-Russia fallout unless it truly spills over into Poland. There could be a scramble to offer aid and intel to Minsk, but it would be pretty haphazard since unlike Ukraine there hasn't been an established process for it and one would be hard to set up in a warzone.

          >I don't see NATO intervening directly in a Belarus-Russia fallout unless it truly spills over into Poland.

There is absolutely ZERO possibility that it's not going to spill over into Poland and it would be a waste of time (and morally inexcusable) trying to contain it, so I'm pretty sure attacking Belarus would itself be a red line. It would be a demonstration that Putin is completely out of control, that no one in his own government is able or willing to rein him in, and that the only way to stop him is to completely destroy Russia's conventional military capability for good (and launch a First Strike if the Russians try to resort to using nukes to forestall defeat).

At this point the average Belarussian security service employee is looking at retribution and persecution if not execution when the revolution comes. Given their news intake, where a Russian stalemate or win looks at least possible, what do they have to lose by going that route?

          >when the revolution comes

This is something that I've come to understand as inevitable necessity. The revolution in Belarus must happen, it our responsibility to help it.

Ukraine must win. But, there will be no pause as that win comes to pass. The fighting and revolution must continue into Belarus and free Belarus. This is a marathon that the entire West must realize. No matter what happens to russia as part of the Ukrainian conflict, russia must continue to be defeated and crushed out of existence until Belarus is also free.

Keep that in mind, folks, as this war continues. It's not over with only Ukraine becoming free. It will be a pyrrhic victory if Belarus is not also free.

Personally I think the only way to truly win this whole thing is for Russia to end up under complete NATO control and governance, the way Germany and Japan were after WWII. I'm not confident that'll ever happen though, more likely Putin will be out one way or another after this whole Ukraine thing is over and we'll get another prolonged cold war with a weakened and less aggressive than now but still dangerous Russia.

Russia really wants Belarus to throw their troops in because they're still desperate for manpower. Ironically I think Belarus as a fleet in being is successfully keeping Ukrainian forces pinned at the northern border anyway. Russia would be gambling the manpower/divided attention would divert more resources from other fronts. Which it might, but it wouldn't be to Belarus' benefit.

Also it would give the distraction a set time limit as the Belarusian military would get assraped. By posturing on the border, they can posture forever

Nothing. No NATO nation has to have NATO approval to do anything. Any nation can make a unilateral decision to do something. But in most cases people don't want war and don't want their population killed and want the moral high ground. So it is unlikely anybody would get involved.

Nothing, but if you take aggressive action, you'll have a much harder time justifying Article 5 if someone hits you back, and Ukraine is willing to do the bleeding if the West pays the money, which is a pure political win unlike if soldiers start coming home in body bags in the West.

        Anonymous

        >you'll have a much harder time justifying Article 5 if someone hits you back
You flat out cannot use Article 5 if you're the aggressor. Also Article 5 isn't a 'entire force of NATO attack + moves to the enemy capital' anyway. /k/ needs to actually read what Article 5 says.

Russia couldn't really afford to retaliate against Poland because there are currently tens of thousands of American, German, British, French and miscellaneous other NATO member state troops currently in-country. Say you're Russia and you launch a series of airstrikes on military targets all over Poland, chances are you're going to kill a few hundred Americans and the American public will be so enraged that they will demand war as a matter of national honor, Article 5 or no Article 5.

          Anonymous

And you don't understand that there are levels between helpless bystander and sending the entire military over the border to rape and pillage, which is where politics come into it. We already see this with how NATO is supplying free arms to Ukraine, which is certainly a provocative action even if Russia and the USSR have certainly done worse. Say Poland limits it's involvement to agreeing to provide a no fly zone or conducting a bombing campaign. Is that enough of an aggressive action to completely nullify Article 5 if Russia sends some missiles at their airbase? How about if Russia tries their terrorbombing tactics of striking civilian infrastructure in Poland? What sort of NATO response is justified if they do decide that it's not an overly aggressive action on Poland's part? Article 5's wording is left intentionally vague to allow wiggle room on things and let the diplomats solve issues like this.

            Anonymous

You're forgetting that there are 100,000 US soldiers stationed in Poland. Any Russian attack on military targets there is going to wind up killing US soldiers and at that point, Article 5 will be completely irrelevant because the American people will be the ones out for blood.

I am perfectly aware of the situation. As I stated, if Poland gets involved via a unilateral decision then they cannot invoke Article 5 if they get attacked. End of. Because NATO exists to maintain the security of the North Atlantic area. If Poland is the one to 'breach' that security by doing an aggressive action, they can't then call on NATO to help. Even if something did attack Poland, there is no obligation for NATO to launch a full scale response. Lets say that missile that hit Poland was actually Russian - there is no clause in Article 5 to get the entire NATO force to go attack Russia. Military is the 'up to' part of the treaty. They could do more sanctions, donate AA systems (which has precedent when Turkey got hit by Syrian missiles but shhh facts are bad, stop knowing things!) or whatever to 'maintain the security of the North Atlantic area'.

Article 5 isn't vague at all. It states if a member is attacked it is up to the member states of NATO to do what is needed to maintain the stability and security of the area which includes - as I already said - 'up to' military action. If Poland tries to enforce a no-fly zone, they are doing a unilateral offensive action and if Russia shoots down one of their aircraft they cannot call Article 5 on it.

              Anonymous

Amazing how you're able to draw the line in the sand so clearly on one hand, while actually demonstrating an understanding of the sliding scale of responses on the other. Is shipping material to Ukraine an aggressive action? How about letting Ukraine base planes on Polish air bases? What about using Polish troops to escort supplies into Ukraine? At what point does it become unilateral aggressive action while being perfectly fine beforehand? Is Russia allowed to strike at Ukrainian forces being trained in a NATO country if they magically were able to avoid hitting any NATO soldiers? If Poland uses it's SAM batteries to enforce a no fly zone, is Russia allowed to hit those but nothing else? There's not a clear piece of police tape that you can tiptoe up to without concern nor is there a lack of context for actions that might be deemed aggressive.

              >Article 5 isn't vague at all
              >do what is needed to maintain the stability and security of the area
I'm impressed you're able to read without actually being able to understand the words you're typing, especially when you list examples of how mutable it is just a few sentences earlier. Article 5 is very concrete in that 'something' will be done, but is very vague as to what exactly that something can and will be, which allows flexibility to be proportional and responsive to the provocation, which once again is where the diplomats come in.

                >What about using Polish troops to escort supplies into Ukraine?
to Ukraine is fine, convoying inside Ukraine is riskier but why is Moscow concerned about 'aggression'?

The obvious point to be made is that Belarus and Luka have NOTHING to gain from joining Russia and putting their genitals into the Ukie meat grinder.

Conversely, they have a lot to lose by doing so.

Gotta hand it Luka, he’s holding shitty cards, but he’s played them well.
Now what does He and Belarus have to gain if Russia ends up defeating Ukraine?

Russia is going to be even more of a pariah and is going to be a badly weakened one.
Things don’t look too good if Russia is defeated, but I think everyone understands that Luka hasn’t had a lot of room to tell the Kremlin to FOAD and not allowing BelaRus turf to be used by the Russian Army.

So far, Luka is playing at Franco and Sweden during WW2 levels. He hasn’t pissed off either side too badly, and just might come out of this thing intact.

What options dies Luka have left at this point? A defeated Russia leaves him vulnerable to either a military coup or another popular uprising. A "victorious" russia ties him to a rotting corpse of a nation. The best bet for him might be to book a one way ticket to Argentina or something.

At this point, his only option is to do what he’s been doing, which is slow-belling everything that Pussolini has asked of him while loudly proclaiming his love and support for MonkeyBoi.

Thing is though, when the smoke clears and a bunch of Belarus guys aren’t fertilizing sunflowers in Ukraine or in shallow graves in the Chernobyl Dead Zone, and Belarus cities still have electricity and running water, that’s going to count for a lot, I think.

Franco rode his play in WW2 into the 1970s. So did Sweden.

When everything around you is in ruins but your shit still works, that is a credit to your statesmanship.

I don’t envy Luka at all, but like I said, he’s played his hand well.

well Russia has tens of thousands Wagnerites that its willing to sacrifice,
plus 300k recently mobilized mobiks (they sent around 100k to Donbas already) with rumoured second wave consisting of 500k) AND 200k conscripts from normal yearly draft that can be used in similar fashion

that's around 400k of new soldiers that will be available this spring (not counting this rumoured 500k part as it wont be ready before summer)

Russia lost many assets last year but they seem to offset that with numbers - more than doubling last years force - if they get their logistics running next spring will be hard and summer even harder for Ukrainians as their losses are also substantial and their industry struggling under constant drone and missile attacks(unlike Russian one that is only mildly impacted by sanctions)
        - west will have to send substantially more and higher quality than now to offset that or Ukraine will have to accept some territorial losses and sue for peace...

You're forgetting that Ukraine has already fortified the border with Belarus specifically because of the risk of another invasion from that direction, can reactivate any TDF that have been stood down, has significantly larger stocks of modern gear and trained forces than the first time Russia invaded from Belarus, and is getting mainlined NATO intelligence 24/7. A second invasion from Belarus would be marching against an already entrenched and fortified enemy equipped with superior materiel. On top of that Ukraine enjoys a superiority in long-range precision munitions. You're talking about a primarily infantry assault through lousy terrain into areas with minefields and obstacles to assault a prepared enemy backed by artillery who has been getting a bird's eye view of your positions and movement since before you even started.

Imagine how fricking surreal it must have been to be a STALKER fan and then find yourself in actual combat in the Zone. There must have been a few guys that happened to, it's a Ukrainian game after all and I think we've seen some Uke soldiers with STALKER morale patches and stuff.

Belarus is a distraction. Making them join would make them into liability.

Ukraine would love to bomb the shit out of Belarus' air bases. This invasion would finally give them the perfect excuse.

Belarussian paramilitary forces are larger than the actual military, if this doesn't tell you enough of its capabilities, you're rarted.

it's seen no reform, it's experience is limited to an Su-25 squadron doing bombing missions in West Africa and then getting fricked by the French, and the population is broadly sympathetic to Ukraine. material wise it's just old Soviet vehicles and some decent infantry equipment.

    >Can Ukraine withstand two pronged assault?

they withstood a 4 pronged assault at the start of the war, the thing is, if belarus suffers the same kind of crippling losses as russia, it might be the end of the line for luka

Belarus letting Russians invade Ukraine through their territory sucks.

Belarus letting Russians invade Ukraine through their territory as well as sending in their own troops as well sucks more.

Also there's a lot of fears of escalation, because Ukraine is one country, and Russia has nukes. Keeping the fighting limited to Ukraine (bar the occasional commando raid into Russia) seems thus far to keep the war limited to 'nobody is using nukes' which is what everyone wants.

But I want to use nukes. I want Russia turned into radioactive glass and the loss of a few civilized cities is absolutely acceptable to me. Even if I'm in one of those cities I will die happily knowing that the extermination of the Russian people has begun and nothing will stop it.

Dude just give it a few years, and they'll collapse.

          WW1 - 2 1917 revolutions collapse the Russian Empire
1991 - Collapse of the USSR

the seeds of imperial russia's collapse were planted all the way back in 1905, though, and only because all aspects of society from the peasants to the navy were sick of the wartime status quo, it all kind of depends on whether or not they'll hit rock bottom

If Belarus joins in then Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland are all within reason to join the war citing Belarus' entry and a very real threat to their borders if Ukraine loses, the war might get a lot bigger but not in the way Russia wants

    >Can Ukraine withstand two pronged assault?
They did it at the beginning and now they've had an almost full year of being fed Western top tier weaponry, volunteers and training. They can and will do it again

      >had an almost full year of being fed Western top tier weaponry,
The hilarious part is this ISN'T the top tier. This is just old shit from the nineties that was sitting a warehouse gathering dust.
The actual "top tier" is shit so advanced even our own allies don't even know about.
Sorry, anon, but you don't have a high enough security clearance to see any of that stuff.

But, here, apropos of nothing, is a vid
