I want them to make a large frame version. a .308 or 6.5 cm traditional stock AR-10 hunting rifle would be cool as frick.

      >6.5cm
Would be a nice bridge weapon somewhere between autocannons and field guns.

It's not that it isn't neat, standing alone but within the context of it being a California compliant firearm.. yuk.

I see it as a middle finger to caligayia to make an awesome self-loading rifle despite their silly laws.

I'm still a bit surprised that this wasn't the first idea for CA/NY legal models before all the muto-grip doohickies puked on the market back in the darker days.

Or maybe it was and this is how long it took them to start production. Lazy c**ts.

The mutie grips are for all the people that already had rifles and became overnight felons, or people that regularly take their rifles out of state so they want to be able to easily convert it back to a proper setup.

That would make sense but I kept seeing NEW rifles on shelves for sale with those dumb things or the other versions with the fixed/welded(yeah welded) magazines and other nonsense. Not all that many as well since they were all expensive brands. Asked one of the guys at some stores and THEY didn't put them on, they arrived with them. Though, too many workers at stores around me seemed to be c**ts and pull anything out of their ass for no understandable reason anyway so....frick it.

I left almost 15 years ago and never bothered to understand the insane ca AR ecosystem when I was there.

Reminds of Finnish Valmet M83 Hunter (Valmet Petra in Finnish marketing), a civilian hunting variant of VALMET (later SAKO) military issue AK's. Produced between 1983 and 1993, in calibers .223 Remington, .243 Winchester, .308 Winchester and .30-06 Springfield. Total production ca. 19.000.

Russian and Eastern European AK hunting variants look somewhat similar too.

My Dad had one of these pre 97 in AUS, I was too young to shoot it at the time but I dream of having one myself.

Why is the scope so far back in the mount? That’s the exact opposite of what you want.
Bring the mount back and push the scope as far forward as possible; this makes it recoil-proof or near about

I want to build my own goofy "totally not an AR-15 at all" SCR build
Another anon here built his own using a T91 upper and posted it a few months back. Required some machining to put a piston strike face on his BCG, sadly most nonstandard uppers/gas systems will require a little bit of tinkering to be usable with the lower, but I'm committed to put a piston upper on it to get it as far away from a conventional AR as possible lol.
For the record, I already own an AR15 in a freedom loving state. I just wanna do this for the lulz
