wasnt that a unit that ukraine inherited after the ussr fell? Did they do a fricking take backsies and then get mulched in bakhmut?

      Anonymous

That's the 72nd Mechanized Brigade of Ukraine, not Motorized.
If the Russian army is like Ukraine I think Motorized means they have lighter vehicles than a Mechanized brigade would have

        Anonymous

Russians only have motor rifle and tank units instead of mechanized ones.
The Ukrainians renamed the 72nd from a motor rifle brigade to a mechanized one in '92.

Ukrainian 72nd was motorized at the start of the invasion, it was upgraded to mechanized after Izium.

Ukraine's is the 72nd mechanized. I think they're doing most of the fighting around Vuhledar and are responsible for mulching the 155th twice.

        >mulching the 155th twice
Who mulched them the other 5 times then? Around the time we started seeing tanks driving into the same minefield over and over again resulting in the ACKING at Vuhledar, it was claimed the 155th was going to have be reconstituted a 7th time since the war began.

500 KIA is a pretty significant number for vaginer, because it was said they only had 3,000 mercs left in theater. That doesn't bode well for their continued survival past this month.

        Yes, 3rd says they've killed around 150.

        > The third assault brigade thanks for the publicity of success at the front. And adds details.

        > During two days of offensive actions on the South-Western outskirts of the city, the attack aircraft of the 3rd OShBr as part of the tactical group "Azov" eliminated 64 occupiers, another 87 - halfway to the previously mentioned ones (liquidation is ongoing, the data is being clarified). Among all of them there are also Wagnerites. Also, as of now, we have 5 captured Russians.

        > The destroyed Russian equipment deserves special attention. These are several formations with the enemy's BC, mortars and more than one BMP.

Feudal lords in the middle ages did this, though. A king would have dukes, counts and barons who all raised their own levies on the king's behalf. Just think of Putin as a king from the middle ages who is constantly playing his vassals off each other while also expecting them to accomplish unaccomplishable military objectives.

Russia as a modern feudal society is pretty accurate actually, it basically devolved back after the USSR collapsed so you have powerful oligarchs, gangs, those nationalist biker clubs that Putin would roll around with, human trafficking, unchecked and low-paid special forces, mercenaries, corrupt policemen and officials, self-governing minority states/zones all emerge to fill the void. Just like with Kadyrov.

Isn't the reason that went away is because it was inferior to nation states when it came to national security?

                Anonymous

Kind of, I'd say the progression from feudalism to nation-states was for economic political and military reasons, but a big part was probably the "Infantry Revolution" when aristocratic cavalry started to be beaten by well-drilled infantry formations, which meant a change from fiefdoms supplying a lord and his retinue directly, to larger state-funded infantry blocks.
Of course there was also an economic and political component, as previously the state did not generally have the centralization and funding to levy troops effectively, while knights only required land, managing and funding themselves

                >most black-and-white since WW2
It's significantly more moral, since WW2 was only won by helping the Soviets, who were as brutal as the Nazis, and then occupied eastern europe for 40 years, where they committed horrific crimes against the Poles, Balts, Hungarians and many others
We even helped cover up their warcrimes during the war, such as in the Katyn massacre, which Russia just decided to begin denying again

As cool as the southern offensive would be a good portion of Russia's combat power is concentrated in Bakhmut/Avdiivka and the Svatove-Kremmina area. I can totally see the yooks concentrating here just to attempt to inflict mass damage and casualties. Crimea and the rest of Kherson isn't going anywhere, if they bleed Russia hard enough on their main formations it could have a follow on effect that allows the southern offensive to happen even easier. Just a guess tho

That seems to be what most people think, that or make bajamutt so desperately wanted by Russia that they focus on it exclusively, and then attack somewhere else.

It would be pretty fricking funny if they keep telegraphing south, feint a bit in the east, and punch through svatove in the north. If they get deep enough in the rear and cause a serious rout then several donets and Lysychansk can be threatened from the north where it's much easier to attack. That by extension would put a lot of pressure on Luhansk eventually depending on how it develops. Imagine the Russians even manage to take Bakhmut by June but end up losing Lysychansk and Severodonetsk, it would be such a fricking humiliation.

That would be some good shit. I have no evidence but I have a gut feeling that Ukraine has been building up a nice little stockpile of Hrim-2s with help from the west. There was some claims a few had been shot down attacking crimea, idk if it was ever confirmed but I doubt they'd give up on a capability like that, especially when the US won't hand over ATACM.

It's okay, chuggers already drew two arrows and painted land red, Russia took it back during this night, which is why none saw how it happened, no, there won't be any photo or video evidence to confirm this

Biletsky is a real OG. He formed the original Azov Battalion in 2014, built it into a regiment (it's a brigade as of 2023) and formed a whole new Azov brigade in Kharkiv. Not to mention he has like a half dozen Azov-inspired battalions that he influences and a whole civilian political wing in Kyiv. He might run the country one day.

Let's be real here. EU won't let that happen so if Ukies want in, they have to at least look like leftist liberals.

There isn’t much to see. Just sounds like Caesars justification prior to crossing the rubikon
      Blames incompetent leadership and government
Says that they will be deemed as traitors by the MOD if they leave their positions but he don’t care, will push on to find answers and justice
Says the ordinary soldier isn’t at fault even if he is running as it is not his fault that leadership is ass, if anything smarter to save your life
      Complains about lack of ammunition
Makes bunch of anal penetration jokes

Isn't that very close to sedition. Things must be pretty bad if a military leader(or whatever the frick Prigozhin is) is justifying troops abandoning.

    >The orc dropped his weapon and begged the drone not to drop the bomb.
    >bag: SURRENDER - go to the drone.
    >We decide to equip the message. Note dropped.
    >Shows that he will be killed if he decides to surrender, but still decides to go to the drone.
    >Despite the fire of "his own", he gets to our boys and surrenders as a prisoner. (text from 2nd video)

What's insane is that 14 months into the war civilian drones are these uncounterable weapons of terror, and the Russians still haven't come up with some anti-drone infantry weapon, not even a stopgap.

Like equipping troops with civilian bird shotguns or proximity fuse rifle grenade, or SOMETHING.

You need to be pretty close to hit a bird with a shotgun, 25 meters maybe?

thats because the russian army is very outdated, time and time again they chose to "modernize" their ancient soviet equipment instead of building something new, because god forbid we throw away those 10000 ancient tanks

soviet equipment have their limitations, no matter how much you "modernize" it, and while this doesnt apply specifically to drones, this is, in my opinion, the entire mindset of the russian military, do not make new stuff, keep updating the old crap

No that is still the pontooning
      >Set up bridge
      >get shelled and take massive losses
      >set up another bridge right next to it
      >same thing happens
      >try that several more times in the same area
      >it keeps happening
It's not even military tactics logic at that point, it's just logic. If something bad happens multiple times when you try something, don't keep doing that exact same thing.
