Just the once. Had a squadmate named Blackburn, if I had a nickel for every time he got told to never go to air assault school, I'd be able to buy a registered MG.
One of the rare 4K releases of recent memory that not only did the og release and extended release justice, but elevated it to the next level. I highly recommend people to watch the 4K bluray version.
Only caveat being that the increase resolution means you can see the wires the RPG rockets are traveling along and you can see that some of the gore is just jelly and rags. Still 10/10 release, though.
One of my teachers was a school friend of Corporal Jamie Smith. I avoided asking him about it though because when he brought it up, it legitimately put him on the verge of crying.
>cringe >absolutely destroy the enemy while having one hand tied
Russian Black Hawk down would be 300 VDV being killed by 2 Africans with a rusty M2 and machetes.
>Fail every goal and wthdraw >get embarrassed on world stage for you presidents pet project
War has context
Holy shit, you really don't get it, do you? Yeah, it was a fucking disaster, and the movie is about that disaster. It was the biggest fuckup in tactical planning since the Second World War, and the fact that an accurate portrayal of an American catastrophe looks like ura jingoism to lesser countries says more than I ever could.
It does in a tragic sort of way. A theme of the movie is "we Americans fight for each other until even if we can't" and we will make the sacrifice. >Scene about Mcknight going back into the field after being told he could take a rest. >Wounded guy who would later die said "Don't go there without me" as he was all fucked up. >Eric Bana, saying it's about camaraderie, to then say "I work better alone" to protect the MC" >The whole part of Randy and Gordon >Mike Durant we won't leave you behind! >Mogadishu Mile climax in slow mo with cool ass songs.
The movie is very deliberate about it, and it's okay, but let's not deny the messages and implied heroism and sacrificial spirit it's trying to convey about the US. The part where Durant spoke with the Somali when captured was cool and gave nuance to the enemy. As far as war movies go, it's up there.
More times than I bothered to count. In part because it's one of the movie a local TV channel bought the rights to air and thus does so weirdly often. Same with Starship Troopers.
Probably hundreds of times. When I was a kid I was only allowed a few movies of my own, the DVD player was bought so dad could watch nascar reruns and so if I wanted to watch something other than that, it had to be requested as a birthday or xmas gift. I had BHD, enemy at the gates and a couple of bond films; all of them would be watched at least once a week. I dont think my parents ever realized there was a sex scene in enemy at the gates, even today I could still tear my dick off to rachel weisz getting silently railed while surrounded by a bunch of sleeping people.
I have a blowup doll dressed in a Red Army uniform specifically because of that movie
(unfortunately, the doll is Chinese-sized and the hole is too small to fuck)
My dad was a Ranger when Operation Gothic Serpent took place. He was 2nd Ranger Batt but knew several of the guys who lost their lives during the operation. The movie came out when I was a kid and he had no interest in watching it or letting it be played in the house. I believe he thought that the movie came across as glorification of a real tragedy and loss of life and I think the fact he knew several of the guys who passed made it hit harder. I never asked him about it or brought it up. Thinking on it, he never cared for any war movie for I believe those reasons.
i saw a guy wearing wrap around oakleys while call of duty scitar rock music played and there was a green filter over the screen and then i closed down VLC and shift+deleted the file
>all that politics and shit go out the window once the first bullet starts flying. >Don't even think about it. I'm better on my own.
Every /k/ommandos should strive to be Hoot.

several
Not enough
It really wasnt good enough to watch more than once
My dad said he did this (blocked a vehicle with a helicopter) in Iraq, which is pretty cool.
i bought it on dvd and watched it on a shitty portable dvd player more times than i care to count

Twice but i rewatch bike evac scene every few months
It's american cringe so unless you're american (or maybe polak) it's unwatchable.

3-4 times maybe
it's a good war movie even if it is inaccurate to the facts
the real event is far more interesting tbh
>an accurate portrayal
>black hawk down
what
god interpolation always looks like slimy shit

You should watch it at 60 FPS.
looks like that fake smoothing. That effect you turn off immediately on a new tv that makes everything look fake and gay
Thats not 60 frames. It was shot in 24 you absolute downey.

I watched it as an adult and thought it was okay.

Just once. That’s all I need.
Didn't one of the people who fought in this battle end up turning out to be a physical dickysseur?
Not only that, he committed incest while he was at it too (his own daughter)
Grimesy was pretty grimey.
I've watched it a few times.
>"This is my safey, Sir."
>*Makes trigger pulling motion in the air with trigger finger*
BEST. LINE. EVER.

Like 3 times in the last month, it keeps coming on TV.
Like twelve times.
Always love the three stooges.
