Piotr I literally never did anything to you guys, i even thought you were pretty based. You are my NATO brothers and I would protect your country with my live, as such it always breaks my heart when I read your hateful comments.
I'm not saying we don't have German-haters in Poland but if you take any statistics in this matter you would see that it is by far a minority. One of the main goals of Russian propaganda is to divide us so one could easily assume that most of those "I hate Germany" posters in here are not even Polish.
It's probably a minoiry, but funny enough the one Pole I know was firmly convinced that germany/"western europe" wouldn't lift a finger to help if Russia invaded Poland. It was quite a bizzare take to listen to.
This literally the default stance of most people in Poland. No one believes Western European countries would do anything meaningful if Poland was invaded, except for UK. Anglo countries and ex-Eastern Bloc countries are the only ones anyone trusts here when it comes to military matters.
It's such an odd take tho, even the people who genuinly hate poland in the west would still want to help it fight Russia. If for no other reason than poland existing means they don't have to live next to Russia.

There are various factors that make it a popular view: >Most people think that Poland was betrayed in 1939 by France and UK which didn't really do anything after declaring war and let Germans steamroll us. Doubly so for France, which refused numerous propositions of joint pre-emptive strike against Germany in 1920s. And then there's the second betrayal in Yalta. >Most contries don't spend the 2% of GDP in NATO guidelines on their defense, which means they don't take their defense seriously. If they don't take their own defense seriously, then why would they take defense of another country seriously? >Germany and Russia often made deals with Russia that undermined Poland and other Eastern EU countries. >General sentiment that Western Europe is pussified and simply wouldn't have balls to send their men to die for another country and honor the agreements.
Probably other factors that I cba to list right now.

Kaliningrad would be Polish rn if that were the case. Poland's army is like Ukraine's, but if it had better funding, and more western support.
Russia would've gotten BTFO'ed even harder.
No, it couldn't.
The only reason Ukraine exists is because NATO did intervene, providing an infinite stream of intelligence and arms. It helped the Russians believed the Ukrainians would welcome them with open arms.
They wouldn't make that assumption with Poland, and without support, Poland would be crushed.
With what? Their t-62s? Like a 1/5th of their airforce has been shot down already as well you really think the Poles wouldn't absolutely dominate the air and in turn any battle on the ground?
Russia LITERALLY cannot do combined arms, the Poles can
> It helped the Russians believed the Ukrainians would welcome them with open arms.
The American government, and by extension NATO, put its credibility on the line telling everyone who would listen that Russia is about to invade Ukraine and the west needs to be ready. And the American government isn't exactly long on credibility at the moment. America gave Russia every opportunity to back down, even a move into the independent republics by the Russian military would have been accepted with some grumbling, I think. Hell, if certain media claims are true, and I'm inclined to believe them in this case, even Ukraine did not believe the scale of the Russian invasion until just a few days before it began.
It was just incredibly hard for most people to believe that they'd do something so monumentally stupid, the only thing that made logical sense was a threat/powerplay... that ain't so hard to believe with hindsight tho.

Russia had rushed their invasion on February 2022. Had they waited a month or better yet two months it would have gone very different from how bad they fricked up the first few weeks, before Western weapons flooded and made things worse. The ground was wet and muddy from spring replacing winter, and Russian vehicles and tanks got stuck left and right.
It's very likely that Russia rushed their invasion because they were worried about Ukraine gaining air superiority. Turkey had signed deals to co-produce TAI Anka and Bayraktar TB2 combat drones on Ukrainian soil. Ukraine also produces the engines for the Bayraktar Akinci drone.

Probably yeah, if they actually tried.
Though from what I discussed with poles during the early days of invasion, polish morale seemed to be very down and pessimistic. I think it could have been possible that they could have collapsed without even really trying, if it seemed that the NATO was not willing to intervene immediately (very unlikely that at least USA would not have had boots on the ground from the day 2 though).
Bongs during WW2 misidentify Polish pessimism for defeatism and initially thought that Polish soldiers, sailors and pilots after loosing to Germans twice are too demoralized to be on the front lines. Now imagine how English were surprised when Polish destroyer tried to solo Bismarck.
Poland would have struggled against the Russian army at the start of the year.
There is no effective Russian army left now tho. Poland would absolutely wipe.
Poland is the strongest military in Europe after France. Russia would probably struggle beating Uganda ffs. The only reason russia still exists are nukes (if they even work that is)
We sent a bunch of stuff to Ukraine and didn't get the replacements yet (like M1A1 SA). We'd probably take Kaliningrad since there's frickall left there now, but we simply don't have numbers or enough hardware to fight whole Russia proper.

BS. Ukraine is doing exactly that right now and they only had eight years of prep kicking off wide a shooting war. You have had 30 years of prep and a even far more hatred filled history with vatniks compared to ukranians who bought into the whole "brother people" larp until very recently.
Vatniks are arrogant pieces of shit that have built up their mythos based upon propaganda versions of history instead of reality and are thus drawing very, VERY wrong conclusions of their actual capabilities. For example they never defeated Poland in WW2 in a straight up war but waited for the germans to finish the job on their army before backstabbing them two weeks later. Nor they would have guaranteed lost Barbarossa by 1942 as they were facing a general famine with germans capturing most of their agricultural and industrial base. WW2, that is all there is to the stronk Rasha myth.
