What does /k/ think about balaclavas used by the military or even some police force? Are they still applicable? Also, what is the best balaclava to buy?

      arcteryx is good
      under armor infrared is comfy
      outdoor research is nice too
the way it fits on your head is the most important part tho
far more important to try them on before purchase

Yeah, it also depends on where you're at. I live in the arid wasteland of mini mexico suburbia. So isolation isn't my speed or need.

Only if you just need protect your identity.
If you're in the cold get a merino wool balaclava.

Well hoes can just keep complaining about the cold with their single clothes layering and no gloves/scarf.

Ever since sweat pants took over I don't typically see women ever accessorizing.

they also serve a very practical purpose of keeping your face warm.

If it's too cold breathing into the might cause you to pass out

in my experience the no mouth hole ones look cooler, but the 3 hole ones are very practical. Never have to take it off to drink or eat, and in very cold temperatures your breath will freeze in front of your mouth in a 2 hole balaclava.

It is used in cold climates in general, not just for war, but is often associated with terrorists hiding their identities.

Despite this, there was the COVID masks and now more people wearing facemasks in general, including in the military.

If it was anydoubt that this was Armatard or Warriortard's spams, this is the Screenshot_2023 poster who changes a pixel or two so it is less trackable in the archive to see how many times he posted it. Do your dance for us, pidorashka. Didn't make Russia lose any less harder.

for any tourists in the thread the guy he's talking about is the schitzo in this, not the guy going pixel by pixel to track an imaginary poster down.

Does anyone have any idea what this poster is trying to say (besides embarrassing himself further)? Can translate it from reddit to normal human text?

I've knitted my own from 70% acryl 30% wool thread, it has a single big hole for my face, but still warm and fits under my coat's neck
the three hole identity hiding ones are tryhard imo, but then again I'm biased for comfy knitted goods

The best ones to buy are cheap ones on amazon from China. They are not applicable. Unless you use them in the arctic. But, even then the ones you would use would be better in the form of non fashionable ones that work better than look cool.

They became proliferated by poor third world tier military activity. Such as IRA, Russia, Al qaeda. If they did anything other than conceal your identity, look coo, or keep you warm then the US would wear them but they don't.

You are already gonna overheat with body armor on anyways. Never mind wearing them in the desert or something.

I will wea them to LARP though

It may surprise many people, but there are criminals in many a military and they want to hide their identity.

        Anonymous

That is what i am saying. Most militaries don't have the specific need to hide their identity, to look cool, or protect against -30 degree weather.

So, they are not going to wear skii masks, balaclavas, neck gaitors. It is uncomfortable. And impractical.

It’s cold where I live and it adds a little extra cushion / takes up space for when using nods.
That’s why I want to get one
