I usually take some dark chocolate, sprinkle it generously with salt and rub it in so it stays there.

Pic is my current favorite thing.
      >140 cal/oz
      >10g of fat per bag
      >7g of fiber per bag
Pretty good for something that won’t go rancid and is sweet instead of salty.

You’re making jokes while dudes in Louisiana are snacking on dried shrimp. They eat it like it’s beef jerky. I’m tempted to try them in an instant gumbo base with minute rice but they’re pretty expensive.

moon cheese is a delicious luxury as well, but expensive.

good rule of thumb is anything with a ton of coconut in it is a good PrepHole food.

Honestly, I kinda love those stupid complete cookie things. To me they taste pretty good, they're cheap, and they are dense enough that I can keep one in the day bag and be good if I end up hiking a decent distance. Bars like that aren't really a snack or a meal replacement bu they get the job done for the type of constant moderate activity that hiking usually is. Plus they are in every convenience store and gas station around here so I never feel like I need to keep them for 'serious hikes' or something.

I will also just bag up granola and dried fruit. I love that raisin and honey combo.
