Azov

>almost completely destroyed Spetsnaz already - something even the Chechens couldn't do
>also defeats Chechens
>also defeats Russian proxy guerilla fighters in DPR/LPR
>also mauls Russian mercenaries (including Wagner, Syrians, Afghanis, Kazakhs, etc
>distracted Russia in certain battles where there was intense fighting (like Bakhmut, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk and Mariupol) that Russia effectively dumped most of their precision missiles
>fought so hard that Russia's entire stockpile of unguided munitions were even drained
>Russia lost air superiority late last year and their Navy just hides behind Crimea
>went from a Regiment to a Brigade
How the fuck has nobody mentioned this?

But that actually intrigues me, why is that they are supporting Russia? The smartest indians know their country got screwed in so many ways after tried to follow the soviet state run economy style.

And truth be told the whole Bengali famine was their own ruling and merchant classes fucking over the common man to get as much cash as possible, one thinks they should be rooting for USA with them having China and Pakistan as their main local enemies.

And now they decided to make entire programs with the russians, it's like they didn't learn the lesson, if they had a bit of self-awareness they should feel Ukraine's cause is theirs.

Lol the south was the only place where Russia's momentum held up. Whatever way you want to slice it getting 6k+ men encircled and destroyed is BAD. Theres a reason every POW swap since has been about 2 Ukrainians for every 1 Russian

Remind me again what happened at the end of march? Oh yeah, the entire northern offensive collapsed and the remaining troops had to be redistributed to the eastern and southern axes which had completely stalled, all the while Russia was still trying to take Mariupol. The defenders of Mariupol unironically saved Ukraine with their sacrifice and had they not tied up and attrited 10s of 1000s of Russian troops the war would be going very differently right now.

            Anonymous

What are you implying? That if Mariupol hadn't held down 15k or so Russians they would of been redeployed to the northern sector? That's retarded

              Anonymous

Holy shit, you are unironically retarded. Do you think each Russian offensive axis existed in a vacuum? Russians never planned on spending three months using 10s of 1000s of their best men (even if the 15k is true, which I think is a lowball estimate, the units were still rotated) and a shitload of resources to capture a single city. The siege of Mariupol blunted the Russian offensive in the East, effectively allowing Ukrainians to consolidate their defense in that region while not putting any demand on the defense forces in the North or far South. As well, by eating so much Russian offensive potential in the East it forced the Russians to do a cost benefit analysis and drop the Northern offensive and reintegrate those troops who had been fighting in the North into Eastern and Southern offensives. Had the Russians retained their momentum and man power they would have been able to use that 15k to press towards Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia in the first month of the war and threaten to collapse the entire Ukrainian defensive posture in the South and East of the country, but instead that 15k was tied down and attrited for what the Russians thought would be a quick propaganda victory.

                Anonymous

                >each Russian offensive axis existed in a vacuum?
Yes. The northern one and the southern one had nothing to do with eachother.
                >using 10s of 1000s of their best men
Their best men were in the north. The south were regular contractors and a huge contingent of dpr guys
                >effectively allowing Ukrainians to consolidate their defense in that region while not putting any demand on the defense forces in the North or far South
In hindsight what did this save exactly? A couple of villages? Do you really think they could of surrounded Zaporizhzhia or Mykolaiv? They couldn't even take SUMY.
                >cost benefit analysis
This was because of the failure and later pointlessness of the northern offensive, not because of struggles in the south.
The truth is that sacrificing 6k+ men for some time was retarded and judging how long it took and the resources spent taking Severodonetsk I really really doubt they could of taken any other city if the siege never happened.

For a 3 month peer to peer urban combat with no way out, that's pretty damn good. Shame the Russians can't say the same about their units.
Hell, at least 50-60 Russians were recorded dying in mariupol and that's just the kills we can confirm via Azov videos.
