>known issue with NATO stocks from the first batch
Should have contacted Steyr lol. Serves you right for using not only the worst NATO mag bullpup but being a cheap lazy fuck.
t. proud AUG hater
Doesn't matter what color it is if you're just going to paint it anyhow.
keep coping for your vaporware trash, I'll do a line of coke and enjoy my floridian bullpups today
checked, based.
To the rest of the thread, shrug. Been running my aug for ~3 years now and have not exactly been gentle with it. I'll keep an eye out I guess.
>switch barrels from CHF chrome lined to button rifled nitrided >switch stock from decent polymer to recycled kid’s meal toys
These used to be my favorite bull pups. Too bad.
the affected stocks consistently crack in the same place. most examples start and end with "ah shit, there's a crack" followed by RMA, because people tend to baby their more-expensive rifles so they notice stuff like this right away.
the reddit OP didn't notice. he included a pic showing this.
>the gun can snap in half while you're shooting it and you might not even notice
Gee, seems like crackgate is even less of an issue than I initially thought.
They've had a lot of problems and mishaps from their lifespan in the US ranging from a bad batch of barrels, to switching to nitrided non-chrome lined barrels, almost no aftermarket support and now stocks cracking in half that has been a recurring issue happening till today since 2018.
What does "blew up" mean in this context? It obviously doesn't mean a catastrophic failure (it occurs to me now that it's really funny that Kentucky Ballistics was almost killed by a KB) since no realistic PPE that you'd have been wearing anyway would have stopped high-velocity bits of F88 receiver from ruining your day.
Don’t care
My 1985 AUG stock is fine after thousands of rounds
My 2008 AUG stock is fine after thousands of rounds
My 2017 AUG stock is fine after thousands of rounds
Buy an older used one now that it is considered cool to jump on the AUG bandwagon
It was there deliberately, since within 1k rounds the stock will have either broken and been replaced for free under warranty or—not, and you can proceed to grind out as many rounds as you want, on whatever firing schedule you want, with no worries since the AUG is so bombproof that the BFV guy would take one in SHTF over an AR or AK and bad stocks will crack in 500 rounds or less
Nah, it's a known issue with a small batch of AUG stocks made in the past few years; Steyr used a different FRN OEM because COVID and some stocks will snap in half within the first 200 rounds or so
They'll replace the stock for free so if you actually shoot your gun it's a non-issue
this was debunked by snopes
it was rebunked by politifact.com, chud
It was redebunked by Ben Shapiro, trannie. Facts don't care about your feelings.
I don't know anything about the aug breakage, but snopes are lefty liars.
You're beseeching the science
AUG more like AWOOGA
>known issue with NATO stocks from the first batch

t. proud AUG hater
look at that retarded single trigger bar
that rifle looks beaten to shit
>nato mag version
Nothing of value was lost
Look like a sick pistol
Should have bought sa-80
how does one even do this
During the pandemic Steyr had to switch the source of their plastic, so new stocks are now blowing out faster than the crotch on a pair of BDUs.
It was happening a year before the pandemic too if I recall
>Make plastic gun
>Use garbage plastic
>Gun breaks
Color me surprised
There was a time when Steyr could make a quality firearm, once.
is this just another reason not to get the gross NATO version or is this happening to all of them
It's happening to both
works on my machine
>not getting a gun in it's iconic color
That AUG is "green".
Doesn't matter what color it is if you're just going to paint it anyhow.

painting is for fags
Sure, man.
Agreed; I honestly don't see the point on a gun that's a drab nature color already.

another example of
>the gun can snap in half while you're shooting it and you might not even notice
Gee, seems like crackgate is even less of an issue than I initially thought.
Are they warrantying these guns?
Yes
plastic thing still breaks in half if you throw it off a cliff!
Can’t you use old surplus chassis?
Semi auto bolts wont fit in surplus stocks
Steyr AUG? More like Steyr ACK
Only American will save the bullpup world, no not you keltec
Bottom is a Beretta
Beretta dropped out from making it so it's just True velocity/Lonestar future weapons who hold the rights now (But it was cancelled anyways)
keep coping for your vaporware trash, I'll do a line of coke and enjoy my floridian bullpups today
Glorious Kel-tecian QUADS
Are the newly manufactured still bad? Were they ever bad?
They've had a lot of problems and mishaps from their lifespan in the US ranging from a bad batch of barrels, to switching to nitrided non-chrome lined barrels, almost no aftermarket support and now stocks cracking in half that has been a recurring issue happening till today since 2018.
I would buy a Carbon Fiber AUG. Smoke Composite's stock has been tested in all temperatures mankind can sustained
Mine is fine
What dumbass thought a plastic gun would be a good idea? What dumbass actually buys this cheap shit?
Dozens of guns use polymer without issue
hk g36
Those feel even more plasticy than civvy Augs.
sir?
Reminder that this never happened to the GOD TIER microtech augs.
Hard to break in half while shooting when they never worked in the first place.
why not just make it with wood?
It would cost more and wouldn't be as durable
It'd be heavier, more expensive, and less durable, plus it would look really weird and probably cause malfunctions.
Damn, I guess that we have to start making AUG frames in wood and steel.
An aluminum stock for the AUG would be pretty cool, I just don't know how you'd be able to do it without fucking everything up
My f88 blew up in my face on the range at kapooka and everyone's confidence in their f88s plummeted, glad I was wearing my ppe

>or just buy a new one and spend the difference on a case of 5.56 to break it in
You forgot to remove the “in” at the ends of your sentence
It was there deliberately, since within 1k rounds the stock will have either broken and been replaced for free under warranty or—not, and you can proceed to grind out as many rounds as you want, on whatever firing schedule you want, with no worries since the AUG is so bombproof that the BFV guy would take one in SHTF over an AR or AK and bad stocks will crack in 500 rounds or less
Just glue it back together, bro.
let me guess the retard was "breaking his fall" with his rifle?
