I'm making some improvised weights with some empty 5 gallon jugs. I need a filler though.
My question is: What is a heavy material that isn't too dense. No sand, sorry.

Jello, loose sawdust
Water.
I paint a lot, and I shake the 5 gallon paint buckets for funzies.

Water is pretty heavy. It sloshes a lot, but that will help build your stabilizer muscles. Don’t want to be a muscle bound homosexual that can’t even lift anything that isn’t tethered to a single axis, do ya
Yeah but's it not THAT heavy. It's only about 30 lbs in an average 5 gallon jug. Comparatively, gravel or sand (while more dense and less sloshy) can turn the weight to 50 even 60 easy.
You're off by 25%, 5 gallons of fresh water weighs 41.72 lbs
You're both close. Sea water is even heavier, better get, put the sand in the water- you'll have the heaviest of both worlds
Do it like we did in prison. Make water bags. You get the biggest trash bag you can find, fill it with water and run a shirt through the knot. You're on the outs so you can run a bar through the knot. I'll bet you those big contractor bags will give you a run for your money.
If you fill them with water and freeze them, once ice they weigh twice as much since ice is solid.
ngl training squats with water jugs like that is probably the best thing you can do because the water moving a little probably builds ankle and hip stability. When you really get into it you should look for a used bar and weights. These things are sold on the cheap all the time by people who don't train anymore
Anakin's gettin swole on da cheap
Jenkem
1” drain rock, no fines
I made 50kg of those.
Get a 1 inch steel hollow pipe and fill it with concrete too. Its so fricking easy to make those you wont believe. Im going to post them latter at night.
Marbles
What about lead? You could get a lot of those fishing weights that they make out of lead and fill a bag or something.
Fishing sinkers are expensive and aren't that heavy.
What about dry cement? The average 5 gallon jug holds almost 20 liters of water, dry cement bags can weigh 60 pounds and are usually only 7 ish liters? If I can remember.
