I think I had a screenshot of that time India coped about getting one of their Mig pilots shot down over paki airspace, but it's been lost to the ages.

For all of Pakistan's typical 3rd world political problems, their military is alright

correct, while as far as I've heard the pak army and ISI (their CIA equiv) have had a bit of a power struggle, their Air Force is competent. The part of Punjab that Pakistan got in the 1947 Partition included a bunch of Royal Air Force bases, and owing to their alignment to the US and seat on SEATO, had plenty of USAF staff come down to train and mentor the PAF throughout the cold war. Pakistan regularly sends staff overseas to study at foreign defence institutions at the Officer Cadet level (knew of a few paki guys that went to RMC), such a "privilege" in the Indian Army is reserved for staff officers and above, who 50% of the time are absolutely useless taxpayer leeches.

i'm not even surprised. If I remember correctly officers ie. not enlistee (i'm not military at all) have to write another test for the national defence academy. Preference goes AF > navy > army. Put that together with the sheer overpopulation and you will get braindead rote learners with superiority complex. Extend that to medicine, engineering, and whatever else with a gatekeeper test.

As a webdev this doesn't surprise me at all.
Indians can be very lazy, stubborn, ignorant, and rude. They'll sit around for months at a time, doing absolutely nothing productive. Then, when they're forced to work, they'll shamelessly copy the work of others, claim it as their own (frequently with zero anti-plagarist modifications), and then put on an extremely stern, judgemental, and aggressive persona, to appear as if they are a hardened, wisened, and highly experienced master of their craft. Truly ridiculous.
The Sikhs I know in Seattle are pretty based, very good people. Seems like the rest of them suck, though. I understand the caste system now.

        >Russia totally skips on the details of construction, builds the thing way behind schedule, pockets misappropriated funds, sells vital components when no one is looking, then imprisons the corrupt officials when it's politically safe to do so for reasons of "selling state secrets to the West".

India seems to be in a paradoxical situation of too much red tape and too little. There are way too many stupid rules that hold back business, but way too little regulation cracking down on corruption (which is seen as a way to counter said red tape).

India needs to get rid of the red tape, then crack down on the corruption immediately afterward.

No, but making "too much" profit is.
If you can't justify your extra charge, or why you picked that contractor over the other one, then it's probably corruption. By nature, corruption in western nations is a lot less damaging and a lot more subtle.

I swear the only reason Pajeets just announced to "retire" the Mig-21 is because they dont have any left anymore after 400+ MiG crashes in India alone and canibalizing the remaining ones because India cant produce their own replacement parts.

Thing is, there's supposed to be 2 aircraft that got shot, one is a Mig-21 (which Pakistan claimed have been shot down by their JF-17), and the other is Mi-17 carrying their CSAR team to rescue the pilot on said Mig-21 (of which Pakistsn claimed was shot down by their F-16 whilst India claimed that they shot the helicopter themselves, for some reason)

          >Thing is, there's supposed to be 2 aircraft that got shot, one is a Mig-21 (which Pakistan claimed have been shot down by their JF-17),
It was an f-16 that shot down the mig 21. Probably the wingman of the f-16 that was shot down by the mig 21. Jf-17 weren't even in the vicinity and were facing mirages where they pussied out and left.
          > and the other is Mi-17 carrying their CSAR team to rescue the pilot on said Mig-21 (of which Pakistsn claimed was shot down by their F-16 whilst India claimed that they shot the helicopter themselves, for some reason
Paki shitskin lies. The mi-17 was a frarticide and was 200km away from the engagement and was shot down by a spyder SAM. The AD commander was court martialled because he thought the mi-17 which hadn't switched on his iff was an Enemy aircraft. The only heo is lying is the Pakis. We lost a MiG-21 as it was engaged by an F-16 after either being baited or getting lost into Paki airspace. Paki's may have jammed comms to the MiG and baited it in to shoot it down defensively thereby not breaking the ROE contracts with their F-16's (defensive use only).

A Sukhoi was lost (which explains the Mil-Mi 17 CSAR shoot down) and this was most likely shot down by a JF-17 Block II on CAP. Furthermore we ordered 12 Sukhoi's in the 2020 year to replace 11 we lost, the extra one is to replace the one we lost in the Balakot blunder.

The Paki strike package wasn't intercepted because their SD-10's mounted on the escorting JF-17's outranged our R-77 equipped Sukhois and we couldn't risk another shootdown.

The pilots of the Sukhoi probably died on impact due to faulty Russian ejector seats, a problem plaguing our MiG/Sukhoi fleet and why we opted to use Martin-Baker seats in our Tejas.

            >Paki's may have jammed comms to the MiG and baited it in to shoot it down defensively

            >In 1987 the Blinders were re-established and equipped with two Dassault Falcon DA-20 aircraft fitted with an electronic warfare suite, tasked with providing ESM and ECM support to other PAF squadrons. Electronic warfare missions provide data which is analysed by EW officers to compile an enemy's electronic order of battle and evaluate their tactics. Electronics and Air Defence officers are also trained in electronic warfare concepts, equipment and operational tactics by the squadron.

In various exercises the squadron's aircraft have provided Airborne Early Warning of intruding aircraft to participating squadrons, as well as communications jamming, radar jamming and radar spoofing. They have been used to expose PAF aircrews in operating under degraded environments and train pilots and controllers in ECM. Lectures have been delivered on the capabilities of their DA-20 electronic warfare variant. The squadron's aircraft have been involved in almost all PAF air defence exercises, as well as various joint Army and Navy exercises. Susceptibility of army and navy systems to electronic warfare has been analysed during these exercises.[citation needed]

During the international exercises Inspired Alert 94, Inspired Alert 95 and Sea Spark 95, the squadron's electronic support measures equipment has been employed to gain intelligence on radar capabilities and tactics used by aircraft of participating countries. As well as international exercises, the squadron flies extensively during Indian military exercises to ensure complete coverage. Aircraft of the Blinders squadron form an integral part of trans-frontier photo reconnaissance missions flown by the PAF's reconnaissance aircraft, providing protection and early warning.

            >Paki's may have jammed comms to the MiG and baited it in to shoot it down defensively

IIRC Indian jets don't have a unified encrypted datalink, Pakis do (Link-17).

It's entirely possible that they tried to complete the entire mission using open-air comms. Which is even more hilarious but explains an awful lot.

In the next 20-30 years, are we going to have an epic Battle In the Himalayas? Will there be battles to get artillery onto K2 and Everest?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yeah, with all the shit china pulls I completely expect my country to ape out and declare a war that they are completely unready for, and then fall flat on their face and cope for the next 30-50 years. It'll be a Sino-India part 2.

India just needs to massively reform its military. Inciting ethno-religious unrest to get fricking votes isn't going to help matters. You can't deliberately destabilize your own country for electoral gain and not expect consequences. Yes I'm fully aware America does something similar with our ridiculous partisanship.

You've got to understand that political parties in my country, who control all military funding see the military as an heirloom shield, passed down from your ancestors. It's a rusted piece of shit and the leather strap's fraying, but as long as you polish and wax it up it'll look good enough to fool your relatives when they come to your house.

          >Yes I'm fully aware America does something similar with our ridiculous partisanship
I'm not a whataboutist cuck like the vatniks or our local hindu nat shill, I'm more jealous of the agency your military gets to trial and do shit. When we tried to move on from the INSAS to the AK-203(still shit lol) every newspaper in the country wouldn't shut the frick up about it and either ran with "BJP REVOLUTIONISES INDIAN ARMY" or "MOD BLUNDERS NATIONAL DEFENCE YET AGAIN". I don't think CNN substantially reported on the MCX Spear trials in the US, day in-day out.

          >inciting enthoreligious violence to get votes
It's a very reliable way to get votes. India is a mess anyway. Its a dozen ethnic groups, with a foreign language as its main working language, deeply divided by caste, religion and occupation. The Brahmins insist they're being oppressed and constantly flout being Brahmins (if you know a Brahmin they will 100% bring it up at some point unasked), the other 95% don't care for their attitude, and they only hate the Muslims more. Farmers insist the whole of India subsidise their business, education is gatekept by ridiculous tests, business is ran by monopolies. The leaders are all quasi religious and delusional. Nothing in India is really done right. At least China has some level of sense in opening up and maintaining stability

You do realise how much of an oxymoron this statement is, right?

Self aware bakchod-ji, I'm not really familiar with the geography of the border between India and China. If another Sino-Indian war pops off for some reason, is there any way it wouldn't devolve into a stalemate along all the mountains immediately?

Alternatively is there any way the Chinese could spirit part of their army into Pakistan and attack over the flat land there, or would they just be cut off and unsupplied?

          indian shill

          There'd be a soft stalemate.

Due to the mountains it's very difficult for either power to break through.

That being said China may be able to establish aerial superiority and has significantly more resources on it's side (airports, artillery, high ground, vantage points, satellites etc) and can rapidly make FOB's and deployments. India can't.

Doctrine wise China (and Pakistan) can act significantly faster than India can react.

India would be facing a better equipped army that would be out outnumbered. China would most likely take it can get as quick as possible, then fortify to stop any counter offensive under the cover of air/artillery superiority.

          >spirit half their army to Pakistan
          Few points
Pakistan wouldn't need China's army to cause problems with India, they're perfectly capable of managing it independently.

          https://i.imgur.com/DHDgMFk.jpg

          >daily reminder

Pakistan would not accept foreign troops on it's soil. Maybe small amounts of Chinese SOF could transpit through Kashmir but even then it's very risky and not worth it.

India faces two massive foes, both of whom have given it a bloody nose in the past. It's already outnumbered on both sides and does not have the tech advantage unless you count a few western toys.

Tbh the only way for india to survive as a nation is for them to have their own version of cultural revolution.

People balked at the cultural revolution and its cost on human lives but it also completely dismantled thousand of years of fiefdom and inherited mandarinship, where all people are truly equal.

With all the casteism and religious sectarianism, india needs its own reset button. Having few hundreds million wiped off hould help with the environment too

unless the entire world gets glassed which honestly is a pretty good outcome on itself , us indians will always stick around, we were here before the upstart white race showed up and we will be still here after they are long gone.
