Wagner isn't in fact private army, anons. They train on military facilities and use army-issued gear.
Wagner in fact one of many parallel armies that function at the same time. Putin borrowed that model from Arab dictatorships (though you can argue that it existed in some form during USSR) after 2014 when he got scared shitless of an Euromaidan in Moscow. Aside from "the" army and Wagner you have the Rosgvardia and of course Kadyrov's Chechens.

The idea is that with so many separate armies existing at the same time, the risk that all of them will suddenly support a coup is negligible. At the same time these armies are pitted against each other. They spy on each other and compete for all types of resources. But that again by design. These armies are meant to be antagonistic to each other. This way they can't conspire together against the top guy.

                This

The news from the last couple of months indicates that some other factions are also building their private armies inside Russia. We'll see if they are successful.

This also means that the next dictator in Russia is going to be the guy with the best or the biggest private army. And that was obvious by March 2022.

                Anonymous

It's always the same problem. A dictator is good at keeping his own people in check, but the whole house of cards falls apart when an actual war starts.
Having 5 different (para)militaries will keep the president safe, but not the country.

It's so obvious, yet dictators still start wars they disastrously lose.

A good model for maintaining power in relative peace usually works bad for wartime when efficiency is the paramount.

The logical way for Putin would be to merge all those militaries under one, most efficient leadership and later to immidiately purge that leadership after the end of the war. However, this still puts him at risk, especially if the guys in charge of the army are smart enough to see the writing on the wall. I doubt therefore he will risk his chances, considering how paranoid he's now.

There is a rumor the Putin fears he may face the same end as Gadhaffi.
To prevent this, he wanted full support of his people, thus why he funded several military powers in his country, thus why he started the war, under the assumption that an easy victory would maintain his popularity.
Ironically enough, this will propbably lead to his downfall.

                Anonymous

It's not rumor. Too many serious people independently said that.

The whole Putin's turn towards imperialism and expansionism happened because Putin's previous source of legitimacy was depleted. Before 2014 Putin posed as the guy who brought back order, fixed economy and gave Russians hopes for the future. However, by 2013 it was obvious that Russia is unable to transition into a developed economy and only oil revenues are keeping it somewhat afloat. This is why Euromaidan terrified Putin so much.

This is the same model that Trump tried to follow by his criminal level of disrespect for his own intelligence services, appointing freaks and vatnik as (Flynn) as a way to harass and disunity military and executive organizations. Starting the “space force” with the initial idea of it being his own satellite version of the PLA Rocket Force, attempting to strong arm US Allies into handing over greenland, supporting various extralegal militia concepts, and so on. You can see trumps supporters using vatnik hybrid warfare techniques by busing migrants to Kamala Harris and Martha’s Vineyard just like Luka using migrants as a weapon against our ally Poland

Its just not a good idea when the enemy has an abundance of man portable anti-tank weapons. In such a situation, it's more dangerous to use armoured vehicles in an assault as you're then losing entire squads of men to a few shots before they can even get near the objective.

In an IFV you concentrate the entire group to a single target, having troops on foot means the enemy can't shoot everyone with the same bullet. Didn't save these guys, but that's the idea anyway

They dismount before closing in with the enemy. Once you are close, infantry anti-tank weapons become a threat and the IFVs and APCs are better off providing fire support from out of range of them while the infantry advances.

The goal is to make the defenders kill so many mobiks that they can't live with themselves anymore and either kill themselves or go home. Do you not understand the Russian Psychological warfare plans?

The two biggest successes Russia has had in this embarrassment of a war are
Making the defending force feel bad for killing so many people in so short of a time because the Ukrainians actually have something called empathy in them
      and
      Delaying Advance Wars Reboot Camp.

have you noticed that the Russians have committed more than 200,000 of their last 300,000 partial mobilization and

    >didn't stop the Ukranian offensive in the north

SC2 isn't sprites, and most of the people who made SCBW work had either moved on or gotten old and lazy. In some cases the redesigns were deliberate - they wanted the Terrans to look more advanced, ruining their previous excellent visual language for no gain. Everywhere too you see the poisonous influence of World of Warcraft.

Stupid puppet aside the bit "This isn't as bad as Chechnya. => It's worse" is 100% correct.
The only reason the occident sighted at Putin's sovietic nostalgia and looked away before was because Russia remained a decent commercial partner compared to Arab dictatorship. But now he tried to weaponize economy against most of the world, made Russia into literal Nazi and we invented a word for the level of frickup his army displayed.

First two are nice. The last two are ok at a distance, but the edit's style clashes with the original style when you look at it closely. The colors/shapes are two solid. Try to use the same skin texture.

I'm posting this on /uhg/ if you haven't already.
