Worked for the North Hollywood shootout. For today, in my limited experience, the 60 round casket magazine is probably your best bet. The 100 rounder I got for funzies was a jammer, but it could be anything between a lemon magazine, the ammo, or the specific rifle.

Those things have more military field experience than C-mags and even D-mags somehow, its funny

C-Mags were issued to AFSOC and the diemaco LSW in canuck service

The robbers had a few jams with those, though, if you watch the footage.

C-mags are reliable if they're properly greased with graphite. No graphite lube = mag failure

SG1 Used them to fight the GOOLD?

well once you get the feed system into the shape of an infinity symbol you have unlimited ammo, so it's okay.

I've got a beta c in 9mm for my mp5 clone and i've put four full loads through it with zero issues, so far. It's a sample size of one but idk anyone else who has one AND uses it from time to time.

Can you store them loaded indefinitely? The manual says so but I'm no sure.

Generally no. There are a lot of gimmick copies by cheapy brands, and a decent amount of engineering and testing needs to go into making something complex like that to work reliably.

The originals didn't work that great either

    Mine works fine so far.
To be fair its non standard as I ghetto rigged one with a damaged low cap mag.

I've always wondered if those horrid stains/scratches/marks on those drums are just from storage. Apparently it's part of the molding or whatever the frick.

I feel like a single drum exactly like this one instead of 2 would be better.

The HK/PTR one works incredibly well.
I mag dumped it three times back to back and it didn't have a single failure.
Does make the gun get close to 30lbs with the handguard/bipod/sight etc.

Bought an open box AR/5.56 one and it wont load beyond 20 rounds so most likely damaged and not the fault of the manufacturer.

    tl:dr worth it

They are issued by conventional forces and effectively turn a fully automatic rifle into a high capacity LMG.

That makes it effective for engaging helicopters and aircraft, as well as suppressive fire and large groups of infantry. Smaller drums for AKs were used this way in Vietnam.

They will need to use helicopters to move personnel and supplies, medivac as well, when fighting in the mountains of Appalachia. We have the advantage in the mountains, it is a natural guerrilla fortress given by the Lord.

Helicopters are heavily featured in COIN operations. These improvised LMGs are functional as AA weapons, the AR-10 in specific feeds the same 7.62x51 as a belt fed with a 100 round belt.

Highly effective when engaging with initiative, that is, knowledge and sight of the unaware enemy with the freedom to act. All guerrilla attacks should be conducted in this way, and the terrain allows for more complex and asymmetrical approaches to ambush and encirclement, unlike the open fields and deserts.
