Are There Any Quality Manufactures That Make Quality Zoomie or Spherical Lens 18650 Lights?

Over years of hiking and hiking in low light, I've found zoom lights to be very useful more than fixed lights. Problem is most zoomie lights are made in China to the lowest quality spec and aren't water proof, overheat and burn out, or have a nasty blue hue etc.

Are there any western manufacturers that make quality handheld or headlamp lights with a spherical lenses?

I know a good one but it’s Chinese. All the good ones are Chinese now and they‘re starting to use 26650 or whatever , I have a lot of flashlights but you might be interested in an LEP. I have an acebeam w10 II. Only one mode and 250 lumens is enough for me close and long range, works better than zoom. Check it out, the beam isn’t too blue either. Convoy is a chinese flashlight brand that you can choose the color temp of your flashlights. The Z1 is the zoomie. I think its at least resistant. It’s pretty impossible to make a zoomie that is waterproof.

That actually seems pretty interesting. Would be nice for a poor man's night vision with a scope on rifles.

I agree. There’s 14500 based ones too. LEPs are amazing. It goes very far. I don’t think they make the W10 II anymore sadly, and the new one is much stronger but it kills its use short range. You should check out the fresnel lens ones too. They’re more traditional and a lot cheaper, but also have a long range, a bit shorter though.

Not op. I'd never heard of Nebo before. I was about to order a ledlenser when I saw yr post. Got a nebo davinci 2000 arriving tomorrow. The 1000 would probably have been fine but there was £6 difference on Amazon and the 2000 can be used as a powerbank. I have lots of 18650's so that's handy. Their Galileo lantern looks nice too. Might get one before next trip since my gas lantern recently got trashed.

im not positive that you can use regular 18650 in nebos, at least in my slydeking it needs to be a nebo battery

Well frick. What's different about the Nebo ones? Is it just lack of nipple or are they completely different dimensions? Would molicell vape batteries fit? I'm not looking forward to stocking up on a 3rd type of 18650. Someone might be getting an early xmas present.

    >turn on your super bright light while hiking at night to alert every psycho murderer in a 10m radius

    great idea

i wouldn't worry about that, serial killers don't just hide in the woods waiting for people

Yeah you're right, people should just walk in the dark.

      >in a 10m radius
You don't need a flashlight to alert people to your presence that close.

        m = mile
seriously though, when you're out there walking and sleeping alone it's safer to stay undetected. you can walk easily in starlight, human night vision is much better than people think if you give your eyes time to adjust. or you can use a head torch with a red light. you don't need a torch visible from the space station.

In no universe does m mean mile. Miles are abbreviated mi.

one of the actual valid advantages boots have over trailrunners IMO is that its impossible to find trailrunners without reflective material that lights up like the sun on ir cameras or if anyone has a light source at night.
a very niche advantage, but its one. actually not really it can matter a lot with how often you get away with bullshit doing urbex.

zooming style lights are not waterproof inherently, not just because the chink ones are cheap, which is why they're bad for most PrepHole activities (but really good for urbex!)
i think the idea's cool too but its dumb and not practical because you almost never need a thrower light when PrepHole unless you're hunting or a few other niches and too many downsides come with it. all you need PrepHole is usually a 40 ish lumen flood light honestly. i know its fun to have a thrower in the woods, i think so too, not judging. if you want to bring one just bring a throwy tube light and a floody headlamp don't try to do 2 in 1.
