Are riser mounts worth using?

Are riser mounts worth using?
I hate how much l have to crouch my neck down on my AR just to get a decent sight picture because it hurts my neck due to an injury l sustained years back.
Are they ideal for CQB and does the height over bore affect your aiming point in you're shooting within the comfines of 25 yards or less?
I really don't wanna spend +$100 on a milled out piece of aluminum.
Like literally, this issue that riser mounts are trying to fix wouldn't even be a problem if the AR15 buffer tube and stock wasn't sitting at a perfect 90 degree angle because it's just completley unerganomic to how the human body was designed.
Is there some kind of stock or brace out there that sits at a lower angle that allows me to get a higher cheek mount while maintaining an absolute co-witness?

yes they are, but it helps if you lift the rifle to your eye instead of tucking in to aim so much

And you can also get this V-TAB to drop the stock to a more ergonomic position

That's literally exactly what l had in mind.

Reminder that the guy on top was forced to use the fixed carry handle because he was a pawn of government bureaucrats, as soon as he was given a choice he swapped it for a flat upper/removable carry handle

        >the wise government protected the guy on top from advertisers and gave him a fine rifle with the fixed carry handle because it does the job well, but as soon as he was given a choice, he fell victim to the merchants' cunning, and swapped it for a flat upper/removable carry handle

Different heights for different things. Ideally you want the reticle to be about the same spot as irons on a carry handle AR or 1.4" over rail. That's a good compromise position between comfort and height over bore. Aimpoint Comp with a QRP2 mount is right about the same height. Going lower gets the optic closer to the bore which makes zeroing and aiming less complicated but the gun less ergonomic. Going higher is really only useful for passive aiming with NVGs. You need the extra clearance so you dont bonk your NODs into things. This usually kills your cheek weld and makes accurate fire more difficult because thats one less point of contact. But NVGs are hard so its a compromise you have to make.

      >bro just add the additional 9 oz to your rifle for nothing more than to be TRAD and SOVL and BASED

eat a single fricking burger, grow some fricking muscle. Alternatively, don't eat that burger and save more weight than you would with the gay riser, also your heart will like you a little more.

9oz is half a pound. I could install ANOTHER eotech for the same weight as a carry handle dude. Stop being a dipshit and putting things on your gun just to be a contrarian.

If you as a civilian are having to ruck for any reason, you are fricked beyond belief anyway. Who cares about 9oz homie you need to be more worried about food at that point.

I like the height over bore. It's comfy.

I find unity height to be comfortable, and similar to how I shoot handguns. So overall I feel it's an ergonomic advantage to my shooting. It does make shooting prone a little more awkward, but honestly you'll spend more time trying to move a rock away from dick than adjusting to the height while prone.
