Are game wardens kino? Posted on February 28, 2023 by PrepHole Contributor Relative to other law enforcement, how are game wardens regarded where you live?
that stance with the hands in the vest
why do LEOs and military people do that? Only civilian analogue I can think of is some old timey politician trying to look like common folk. That or some old hillbilly stretching his suspenders.
They are lifting the weight off their back/shoulders because they are sore. Has nothing to do with any thing else other than comfort. I caught myself doing the same exact thing in my old PASGT vest
i see, thanks. I never knew that!
This, I've done it with backpack straps before. Its a natural human idle animation for when you have stuff on your shoulders
Having your thumbs tucked is suboptimal, most places will teach an 'interview stance' like picrel for that reason
>Purely for comfort
Also keeps your hands up and ready incase they swing on you, at least that's what I was taught
Never worn a backpack?
I do that off my work safety vest. I do the stance where you have one or two arms hanging from the top part as well. It's comfortable.
You're actually taught NOT to do this, it puts your hands in a position where they're not ready. The worst is when they tuck their whole hand inside the vest, know a guy who got stabbed in his neck because he couldn't get his hands out quick enough to block it.
When you see cops doing this you can be sure they are shitheel retard cops that are ngmi.
Yeah, just assume an us and them mentality of hypervigilance as a peace officer at all times, even during a photo op by some reporter and you're a game warden. I think you're the fucking retard cop here.
This is tthe only correct answer.
used to do that all the time on the high school football time with our shoulder pads
Same. I would grab my pads also and just hold on when the defense was on the field (we didn’t platoon, I was on offense)
Where are they supposed to put their hands? Rested on their hips? There's a gun belt there. Even leaving your arms at your sides is awkward. Can't eeally fold your arms in that type of vest. You're left with a comfy place to grab onto and let your arms hang. Also lifts the vest away and lets air get in to cool you off. Some stuff their hands in there when it's cold to warm them up but I'd be afraid my hands would get stuck if I was contacting someone.
>Also lifts the vest away and lets air get in to cool you off
titty dankness is probably uncomfortable
Flattens the back and relieves weight from the shoulders. It feels good.
I just like baneposting in real life
Never seen a game wardern in my last 15 years of hunting in both Alaska and Kansas. Maybe once I saw them patrolling in a pickup. They only "game warden" I interacted with was my cousin who flunked out
Is it possible that their work is handled by other police agencies?
Purely for comfort. Due to the number of tools on either side of the belt, it feels unnatural to let the arms hang vertically. It looks like you're holding watermelons.
I wonder if poachers are even that common..
What do you do as a Sheriff's deputy? What's the difference between that and regular police? Why do you dislike Sherrif's deputy? Sounds way more interesting since you're apprehending perps that usually commit crimes against other people instead of animals or victimless crimes.
>What do you do as a Sheriff's deputy?
Mostly guard jails in my area
>What's the difference between that and regular police?
Sheriff is an elected official and is at the county level, other than that I got nothing
>Sheriff is an elected official and is at the county level
this, highway patrol/state troopers are at the state level and not elected, metro cops are controlled by an appointed official. This is normally why sheriff's deputies aren't nearly as big of assholes as other cops, the sheriff's job is on the line if they are where SHP and Metro cops primarily exist to get convictions and generate revenue.
Weird, don't correctional officers do that? What does a typical day look like? What did your training consist of? What's your jurisdication and what laws do you enforce?
>Sheriff is an elected official and is at the county level
In sane counties, yes.
But here in King County (home to Seattle), we decided to make the Sheriff an appointed position.
Seattle is already fucked, it's a matter or time before the rest of the county follows.
>wonder if poachers are even that common
Pennsyltucky oblast representing: Yes. I live in what was fairly rural countryside about 20-30 years ago, but now it's been built up a lot. Tens of thousands of houses and all sorts of associated infrastructure on what used to be give-away cheap farmland.
God damn, but we get poachers. Every Fall hundreds of people just show up and start walking through neighborhoods and remaining farmland with some forested areas. They think they're deep innawoods. Those are the casuals who bought a gun and figured they get free meat now. Even though many have licenses, they aren't always for the jurisdiction they are shooting in. Some barely understand they need a license.
But we also have another breed around here. People who lived here for 40 or 50 years, or their children, who are convinced they are entitled to hunt whatever they want any time of year because they have "roots" and it's "their land." These fuckers are the worst. They actually know the layout because they walk it regularly year round. It's a mother bitch to catch them, and they regularly loot whatever isn't nailed down. They're not "just" poachers. They methodically case properties and plan out how to walk away with anything they can carry or move, coordinating against when they know people are at work or asleep.
Anyway, our local wardens are fucking busy year round. But especially around and during hunting seasons. Not a season goes by I don't find two or three gut piles on neighboring land that is strictly no-hunting-ever dedicated conservancy land. Sometimes on my own property, and injured & dead/lost animals turn up regularly. The vultures give it away, but the poachers are long gone. They hunt with crossbows and suppressors, so it's nasty work trying to catch them. You need to get paid full time and work nights to even try.
>they regularly loot whatever isn't nailed down
meth ain't gonna pay for itself
>who are convinced they are entitled to hunt whatever they want any time of year because they have "roots" and it's "their land." These fuckers are the worst. Many of these people are the descendants of British prisoners. You can argue it's their genetic tendency to be self serving criminals.

Honestly kinda based
Spotted the moron in the thread.
>I wonder if poachers are even that common..
Depends how poor the area is. I'm a warden in Eastern Wyoming, a lot of the natives go off-rez and poach. The poorer a place is, the more likely poaching will occur. You also do have wealthy trophy poachers especially of elk, bear, moose, and other similar larger game that you find from time to time. On average once per year, and often only caught because many of these animals which are still being rehabitated are sparse in number and microchips.
Wouldn't say so, most of it is ensuring uppity wealthy retiree boomers actually bothered buying licensing and making sure people aren't depleting wildlife with improper catching or hunting. Maybe 1% of the job is the real down-and-dirty poacher hunting and legitimately dangerous aspect of the job. It's a lot of paperwork and citations since seldom do you have any form of cellular service for mobile hotspots for our laptops to connect to so everything has to be done once we're back in town as far as citations go.
Why did you pick game warden of all the possible LEO career?
Wanted to work locally to where I was born and raised but didn't enjoy the prospect of being a state trooper or compete for one of 3 total fed jobs in the area.
>I wonder if poachers are even that common..
In bear and wolf country, absolutely. Poaching for bear gall bladders used to be a huge issue. It's died down in recent years, but it's still a problem.
They're pretty active in Douglas County, the gays.
If she's the warden then the game is MUH DICK
what, she protects your dick from being meddled with, while simultaneously keeping herself at a distance from it?
you being fr right now? Shes not attractive at all
That's kinda mean, she looks fine. I mean, she has a vagina, that's enough to get anons into fight or flight mode.
>she looks fine.
is that you eggman? are you even in her league? because she has pics up but you don't
Her loss. I will never leave an Internet footprint. There are ZERO known photos of me on the internet. WHY? because I do NOT want a deepfake AI to steal my face name and voice to turn me into a puppet when I am dead or WORSE when I am ALIVE.
I AM the Ghost in the SHELL
I AM the STAND ALONE COMPLEX
>whiteknighting for some random girl on the internet
I wonder if the carpet matches the drapes?
i'm betting yes
She's cute in a girl next door kind of way.
Social media is rotting zoomer brains, she doesn't have a tiktok filter on so she looks too real for them.
Annoying cunts. They sometimes deal with poaching which of course is good but they're mostly just obnoxious, in Pennsylvania we have public game lands with decent ranges on them that have shit rules, 90% of the time that I go there one is hiding in a civilian car to wait for you to get set up and then they come by to check your hunting license, check to see if you have too many rounds in the mag, etc.
Sometimes when you're walking around with a rifle they'll stop you and bust your balls about everything. I never get bothered by police ever, can't remember the last time I've been pulled over, but going to game lands? Probably getting harassed.
If you hunt at night with NVG and a suppressor and don't leave a trace, it's like you were never there at all. I'm not a poacher, but they have night hunting down here and it guarantees that you don't get harassed really. I prefer night hunting as well, it is the ideal time for hogs and gators.
Maybe don't be a moron and quit making yourself a target to get picked out by game wardens when surrounded by countless other guys at ranges.
Where do you hunt where you run into them a lot? I mean, what county at the very least? I've seen one (well, two) who were I guess wardens but were stocking pheasants and didn't give a fuck. They didn't even want to see my hunting loicense, just wondering wtf I was doing.
I think you have to have pretty strong nerves to be a game warden. You are constantly dealing with armed people, some of whom may be criminals (poachers).
They are pretty well regarded here in Australia, except by bogan idiots.
why is that condom unwrapped in spring
is camp annon cheating on his deer wife with the bear
If it wasn't so ass fucking hard to become a game warden where I live I would 100% do it instead of being a Sheriff's deputy, which was already a massive cluster fuck to do.
The ONLY impact I wish to leave on the internet associated with MY likeness is that I fucking HATE moronS and garden gnomes
i bet she had to suck 1 million+ dicks to get that job
Anything that enforces hunting seasons is kino. It's the difference between a barren wasteland and a country teeming with baby animals.
>Anything that enforces hunting seasons is kino
Except they ruin the hunt more than anything. These absolute gays will waste their time walking through public land during the hunting season looking for stands and trail cameras left out so they can cut them down. For some reason you can't have a permanent stand, encampment, attractant, or device on public land and by permanent they essentially mean overnight. You will hear these gays walking a deer trail middle of God damn prime time bow hunting looking for shit. You best fucking pray they don't find one locked to a tree either because they will move heaven and earth to get it down even if the noise and smell kills the hunt for everyone.
They will also walk right the fuck out to you while geese are flying just to see if you're over your limit. Like bro I get it you gotta make sure people aren't breaking the law, but you literally just ruined the next 3 hours for us which could be the whole remaining hunt.
If you look close he nutted to feed the spidergal.
You sound like an entitled moron
I'm just a guy who has a few weekends a year to hunt and if it gets ruined then all that preparation and effort and waiting turns to shit.
I'll take that as a yes
Speaking of morons, this thread wouldn't be complete without acknowledging the absurd shit African wardens have to deal with.
One of my favorite stories out f Africa is that several countries with extreme poaching problems (well, I guess that's about all of them) have started hiring large numbers of women as rangers. Turns out pretty much all the poachers are men and they're intimidated and a bit freaked out to be confronted by women. Armed women, who are pissed off at their behavior. Murder rates for rangers dropped off dramatically in several regions as a result. I saw some news footage and a documentary on it over the last few years. There were some real qt 3.14s geared up and armed and very, VERY eager to catch poachers. They're quite protective over their animals. One of the very few stories I've heard out of Africa that gave me a small kernel of hope for humanity there.
> very, VERY eager to catch poachers
>tfw you will never string a poacher up by his balls alongside your qt anti-poacher tomboy gf while innabush
I envision it more like me holding a gun to his head while a very angry black woman berates and screams at him for several hours about what a horrible, miserable excuse of a man he is. And, no matter how much he begs me, I will not end his misery with a bullet. While I laugh at him.
Then, after he's arrested and hauled away in handcuffs, I tap into that deep pool of angry energy and we fuck ourselves raw by the campfire all night, occasionally pausing to admire the roars of the lions in the distance.
>those guys need a beer poured out for them every damn day
I'd rather be able to buy them a couple each night, they earn it the hard way. But, I agree with the sentiment wholeheartedly.
Say whatcha will, but a black women can strike the fear of god into any man, regardless of race or ethnicity.
You just know
Now those guys need a beer poured out for them every damn day.
I know a Kruger Park game warden and they're essentially the same guys as the mercs from back in the day.
They have a huge HQ with state of the art military intel situation room type shit and they are fighting a mini-insurgency since it borders two countries.
He goes out in his short shorts, a FAL, and a harness with some mags and grenades then drops in by little robinson chopters or similar which they spool up as soon as they get a report. The Zim and Zam poachers are always heavily armed too and do not give a fuck, so its almost always shoot on sight.
He said he used to do similar shit in Botswana and has a story about how they once sank a poacher dinghy and watched the hippos just shred and eat them alive without intervening. Who knows if thats true, but also TIA.
>sank a poacher dinghy and watched the hippos just shred and eat them alive without intervening
I really hope that's true. People who kill endangered species deserve a painful death. The fact that it's animals administering revenge is just poetic icing on the cake.
Those guys are what game wardens in western countries think they are. I mean they are fighting literal bush wars against poachers, it's insane.
>If you look close he nutted to feed the spidergal.
Looks like an egg sac. Spidergal got nut but not for food.
This is a great book, will make you despair for the human race though.
This thread needs some of those game warden ghost story pastas, if anyone has them
No I wouldn't say they are.
Doesn't Renner play a conservations officer in Windriver?
>Wind Riveris a 2017neo-Westerncrimefilm written and directed byTaylor Sheridan. The film starsJeremy RennerandElizabeth Olsenas aU.S. Fish and Wildlife Servicetracker
i'm game if she's game
>get talking about guns
>impress her with your knowledge of hunting rifles
>ask about the endangered species she protects
>talk about breeding seasons
>get her thinking about breeding
>how important it is that all females are bred each year
>how much happier they are when they're bred
>call her in a few weeks
I'm sick of game wardens giving me shit about not carrying my wallet with me while fishing. I don't want to drop it in the water or lose it so I just leave it in the car because who needs money while fishing?
I've been checked 4 fucking times already this winter, I never have it on me. Each time I get some spiel about needing to have ID on me, each time I say I will next time. I never do, and won't consider it until the state of Wisconsin starts issuing physical fishing licenses again.
Fuck the Department of Nosy Roody-poos.
The best part is if you go somewhere with no cell service they can't check you kek
Get one of those watertight floating bags and put your stuff in it.
you're missing the point
Just easier not to take it. We used to get laminated fishing licenses and back tags for deer hunting, that were easily replaceable for a 5 dollar fee. I'd always bring that until about 5 years ago when they stopped, because it's too much of a pain to replace an ID and credit card.
>i shouldn't take steps to solving a problem because that means I'm submitting to authority!
Lick my nuts and print me out a nice fishing license like the old days, fag. No I won't submit to their authority to be fucking cheap.
If it's a problem why aren't they printing more licenses?
So they give you no fishing license at all? WTF? Retarded.
wardens do their jobs, mostly. Sometimes they are dicks, in my experience especially to fishermen. Easier to be a dick to someone if they aren't armed.
I have a bigger problem with the regulations enforced, especially with regard to deer in areas where their natural predators have been displaced and populations are high. In those situations there needs to be a lot more encouragement for doe hunting, since buck hunting doesn't do shit to control the population.
It's a problem in central TX for sure, deer everywhere. At least they came to their senses with hogs, only regulations at all being that if you're on public land you need a general hunting license. And you need a special permit to mow them down from a chopper, but that seems to be more about safety.
Easier to be a dick to someone if they aren't armed.
That's it, I'm going to start OCing while fishing. Maybe they'll go away.
I don't know, but the current system of either carrying around ID, a phone or the actual piece of copy paper they give you nowadays is dumb.
It's bad for enforcement too because the wardens don't check places that have no cell service anymore, too much of a pain because nobody carries the paper. Probably some pencil necked bean counter's idea.
Why does the game warden, who has a significantly higher chance of needing rifle rated plates than other leos do so while in OD? I understand the unconstitutional fucks like to sneak around, but you'd think they'd figure out to wear hi Viz or something so they don't get shot by the average drunk hunter skulking around.
You underestimate the power of the game warden.
They specialize in the same voodoo shit that's going on at Skinwalker Ranch, and are capable of appearing out of fucking nowhere.
I remember fishing inna relatively hard to get too spot in Idaho for bull trout, legally, and while casting my line, all I hear is, "Evenin' sir. Idaho Fish and Game" from a few feet away. Turn around and it's two wardens just standing there in their Canadian Mountie style uniforms. I never heard them moving up behind me, and I was on alert because someone mentioned at the gas station I bought bait from that some wildlife were getting too close to people.
I have heard stories of them using drysuits and going full swamp monster to get onto duck hunters boats.
gas station wagie ratted you out, the wildlife comment was so they might catch you brandishing or worse
All officers suck dick. The only time they don't get away with abusing their power is when it's against some moron that probably had it coming anyway
Apparently there is some game warden that's fighting cartel weed farms somewhere in NM iirc. Would be kino to see that shit but otherwise they're either too pedantic or don't give a shit.
They're cops that deal with poaching Hispanics on a daily basis.
Dunno about other areas but here (rural east coast) they are pretty well respected. They know their shit, are respectful (I guess it makes sense when armed people are involved) and pretty reasonable.
Like most cops they zealously enforce the law to the fullest extent, and usually they are huge cocksuckers about it (even more so then regular cops). They will go to great lengths to catch some dude who shoots a deer slightly out of season, or catches a fish a little too big or small, ect.
Saw one give a guy a ticket for fishing without a license because his friend asked him to hold his rod for a moment while he attached bait. I'm not kidding. And the worst part is they will throw the book at you for these offenses. I've seen dudes get more time in prison for poaching then murders do. It's insane.
The modern day game warden is the personification of how this nation has become a draconian police state. I'm all for preserving nature and being a protector of the environment, but it just goes too hard against normal people. You don't see this level of crackdown on corporations that pollute the environment and kill millions of animals (and people). Its fucked.
>dude who shoots a deer slightly out of season
How do you shoot a deer "slightly" out of season? You're not hunting at night and shooting something at 12:01 am.
If the season is over, don't go hunting that day, simple as.
The other examples are bullshit though and I agree with your overall sentiment.
Are game wardens people that weren't cut out to be police? Or are they really cops? What's the consensus on this?
It's much harder to be a game warden than a cop.
>noooo this is the land of the free you can't just HARVEST public RESOURCES whenever you need them nooooooo
They're pretty cool in southwest Missouri. The ones in north Missouri were dicks, but every durr season they had thousands of out of state and St. Louis fags showing up and being retarded so I can see why they get pissy
The DNR are hated with the fire of a million suns. And justiably so.
oldfag here. wtf does "kino" mean
eastern european word for cinema. Synonymous with cinematic, issamovee, epic
so what does it mean if a game warden is kino
it's now slang for cool
Aesthetic, movie like, cool.
The Godfather is Kino
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly is Kino.
He, she, we kino.
do they look or act cool enough to be in a movie? the answer is of course no
Game wardens are gays.
No one wants some busy body barking at them when theyre trying to enjoy the great outdoors.
Forest Jannies are right up there with revenuers when it comes to unconstitutional and tyrannical power enforced against the American people.
Otoh, they are based because the protect common resources and not just the political class, and I have a hard time caring about warrantless searches when you have 1500 crappies in your deep freeze, you boomer fuck.
>live on a ranch
>several family houses on the property so delivery people get lost
>decide to wait at the entrance for a package
>sitting in my bright blue car with fairly loud music on
>fat game warden drives up
>Can I ask what you're doing out here."
>"waiting for fedex."
>"Fedex huh? Well I'm just stopping by cause you seemed suHispanicious."
>"do you think I'm poaching, officer?"
>"am I holding a rifle or anything?"
>You just look suHispanicious so I wanted to check you out"
>"Ok what am I poaching then?"
>"I never said you were poaching. You just look suHispanicious."
>"You're acting suHispanicious. You look like you're casing my property to steal from us."
>"I can be on this land if I suspect a crime."
>"I can be on this land because I own it."
>he mumbles something incoherent and flashes his lights and siren
>That was to scare anything away in case you are poaching."
>I laugh at him and turn my music up
>he leaves with an angry look
>Fedex guy arrives ten minutes later delivering my traps I use to illegally harvest racoon and skunk pelts.
Game Wardens in my area are too weak to be sheriffs and too fat to be real park rangers.
>handcuffs in small of back
>snaps on magazines
>cross draw taser means she’ll draw it with her main hand
>belt off kilter
>magazines on same side of belt as firearm
2/10 would not date
