But they didn't, the sm2 missed the drone for "some" reason.

Amazing how the Germans can't shoot down the drones, yet the Houthis keep shooting down drones.

            [...]
They deployed one frigate and were able to successfully stop 4 attacks(intercepting UAV, naval drones and ballistic missiles) and escort around 30 ships.
They aren’t by any means a naval power but that’s a relatively solid performance for a navy of their size

They were out performed by the Danish navy, a country less than a tenth of their size

As long as it looks cool. The F127 will be better equipped.

Then they should redo the high seas fleet instead of paying ngubu to rape their women :^)

    Yeah

    >2 (TWO) water cannons, 2 helicopters, 2 RHIBs, and only ESSMs for SAMs.

It's quite oversized for a coast guard cutter.

It’s fine. The German navy won’t actually go to war and just having a handful of SAMs and guns is good enough to do things like hang out in the Red Sea. If they do get roped into a war somehow it’ll only be as a minor participant with the U.S. so they can rely on the USN to fill the defensive gap in that situation.

If the Krauts weren't poor and moronic, you could cram 32 cells where it shows Shipping Containers.

Its supposed to be a do it all anti piracy kind of ship with long endurance. But it has the displacement of a Tico CG and 1/10th the missiles. It does seem silly when you have the Houthis spamming cheap ass drones. How is it supposed to protect shipping?

No, that’s 16 too much. The advantage of the older ships was that they had barely any weapons onboard but a lot of crew space and since everyone like Germany, they could literally sail to any country on earth with what was essentially a worse but not boomer infested cruise ship.

A refugee rescueship doesn't need a lot of armament.

Germans got the Italian syndrome: filling their machines with all sort of optionals but forgetting the thing called firepower

Except the upcoming 10.000 tons italian destroyer is gonna have 80 VLS plus 4 cannons. Still not a huge number, but far better than 16...

We are probably gonna go in Libya way before that.

No seriously, the next battlefield is in Libya...Russian there, plus they got oil, plus they send sandynoggers.

Either the west steps up on a proxy war or we all go there without vaselline.

Anons the sad part is this might be the largest ship Germany has built since the Second World War and it is so anemic.

16 VLS cells seems a little on the low side but still a reasonable amount considering F126 is not a dedicated AAW platform but a multipurpose ship with a focus on mission endurance and ASW. It also carries 2 separate NSM quad launchers a full sensorsuite and only has a complement of 114 (that is 1/3 of an Arleigh Burke).

    Tonnage doesnt mean much

    >buying ships from germans
that's like buying barrels from Pakistan for your main service rifle, stick to Italians or the French, most of this ship is already Italian/French anyways.

I'm seeing a bunch of SAMs but what does it have for anti-ship capabilities? Germany doesn't operate carriers or overseas airbases so it can't rely on planes for anti-ship strikes

  17. 3 weeks ago
    Anonymous

Lol no, at 10k it should have 60-100 toobs. 16 would be okay for a 1000 tonne ship. What capabilities are they actually trying to get out of the tonnage if they're not packing in guns and vls cells?

At 10,000 tons, a properly armed warship will have no fewer than 15 6" guns or 9 8" guns.
