Archon Type B

It seem like a really cool gun. Why is it so unknown?

Low production volume and it's not distributed by RSR or SportsSouth so it does not appear at LGSs or the big box stores.

This is why I never bought one, and I LOVE weird guns like this. The Strike One was bad enough, this thing should have been $550. The lowest I ever saw Stryk Bs was about $700 but still not enticing enough.

There's only so far hype can get ya, I think Archon just fell short and didn't have enough redeeming features to keep in the limelight.

I honestly thought there wasn't a handgun that you wouldn't buy.

I would buy one, if it were cheap enough lol

I just already have a Strike One so an Archon is low priority, there's so much more I'd rather consoom

    Too expensive

I'd buy one if they got rid of that fin on the arch of the backstrap. It digs into your hand pretty bad. I know they only did that to strengthen the beavertail, otherwise it would probably break fairly easily. If I wanted to hurt my hand when I shot my gun I'd just shoot a Makarov a lot.

Is this a copy of the Arsenal Strike one?

It's like a gen 2 version of that thing IIRC.

The only competitor that I know of it is a Steyr M9 thingy

Glock hasn't done anything new since 1980, frick Glock. I have a G19 and it's nothing special. It's getting out performed in size, weight, mag capacity, and ergos by almost everything on the market in 2022.

What new things do you need a pistol to do?

Last I shot my Glock, it had the trigger thing where if you pull it bullets go out the front. And when that is over the button you can do so the magazine can go, for a new one to go in.

          Different bullets? Those work good.

It has aiming and everything I expect. It is black but I think they do them in brown too for when you have a brown purse. You can oil it. Etc etc.

This by the way is also done by the 1911 which is very old was made in 1911 at least.

For one, their mag design is fricking stupid. They're getting passed up in mag capacity by every other major manufacturer because a huge percent of their mag volume is taken up by polymer that doesn't need to be there. Aftermarker designs like Shield Arms have shown that if you just remove the polymer from the equation you can stuff and entire extra 50% worth of ammo in a mag, but Glock just refuses to change.
They have the ergonomics of a brick and if you shot it for an extended range session you would have gotten Glock knuckle at least once by now because the trigger guard design sucks monkey ass.
The sights are fricking plastic and basically have to be replaced.
The barrel doesn't have lands and grooves so lead buildup is an issue if you want to shoot any kind of hardcast through one.
The trigger is mushy and kinda ass.
            >"Just learn to get good with it, I know it sucks but you just gotta train."
GTFO out of here with that, there's a reason there's an enormous aftermarket for it. It does nothing well out of the box, especially for the asking price.
They're coming out with full blown failures of design, the G44 barely even works and it only comes with a 10 round magazine.
            Glock Perfection™ though, amirite?

My Glock 19 factory mag holds 15 rounds. You can link me to a flush fitting mag for it that holds 22 rounds?

I don't know what Glock knuckle is and I've shot mine plenty enough for me. I also have never had any unusual lead build up as compared with my M&P. I shoot jacketed bullets though.

My M&P has an Apex FSS trigger and is spectacular compared to my Glock's. I shoot it better, but not enough better to really matter for a carry pistol.

I am sure people replace Glock sights with whatever, but the idea that they "basically have to" is absurd. Thousands and thousands and thousands of Glocks have lived through all sorts of service with their sights intact.

I have a G48. It comes from the factory with a 10 round mag. You can get aftermarket FLUSH FIT Shield Arms mags that have no polymer and are only steel (like every fricking magazine that exists on the market) that hold 15. I don't give enough of a frick to talk about your personal experiences with an M&P and stock sights are total shit. Carry one for a while and you'll see what happens to them.

Ok so no higher cap G19 mags. Got it.

Enjoy your G48 or whatever the frick you bought and don't even like but are too stupid to sell and buy something else. At least you get to live mad about it.

Newer and higher quality guns that bear a passing resemblance to something else are always ignored regardless of quality because they don't have their product placement engrained into everyone's minds. I post this and someone says Sig Clone, you post that someone says Glock Clone, and neither will achieve recognition beyond that.

Looks good what is it? I like Sig pistols but I have new Sig so this could be perfect.

How do you gays do it? I look at that and it just looks like every other all black glocknade to me. What makes a handgun cool? What distinguishes that from a Beretta or a Cz? Rifles I can get, revolvers at least have a tactile action and feel to them, but auto handguns are incomprehensible to me

Looks like just another glock with one unique selling point but everyone else is already chasing that bore axis dragon. Honestly I'm shocked this thing doesn't come pre cut for an RMR and with a threaded barrel. It looks way too futuristic to not give it more attachment options than a light

The action is an interesting concept but it only buys you like 1/4” of bore axis. Also price is too high combined with unknown company. It’s kind of a novelty gun it needs to have a better known name behind it or be a lot cheaper. The trigger on them is very nice though

It was better when it was called Arsenal Strike One. I have one of those. I have 5 mags. Think that is enough? Due to the locking action it can handle the hottest +p+ rounds ever created. I never shoot it.
