    RC-135 Rivet Joint

If true the Ukes finally have solid night time recon and tank hunting platform.

Didn't we give them a shit ton of air to surface rockets too?

They've gotten at least several hundred AGR-20s by now IIRC, and only public platforms for it are some 4 tube FLETCHER/ VAMPIRE pods for SOF vehicles. I'm sure you can see that math doesn't quite add up.

        >only public platforms for it are some 4 tube FLETCHER/ VAMPIRE pods
They can go in any old hydra pod and those things can be bolted on to nearly anything.

Seahawks are officially compatible and those are already in Ukraine and have been for ages (as S&R supposedly).

I think there was talk about putting hydras on Su-25 which wouldn't be very difficult but would need a nato targeting pod as well which is admittedly more difficult.
I'm sure I recall hearing that this had basically been done in the US previously as a proof of concept.

APKWS actually needs lengthened pods and the SCS 7 cue. Not an impossible hack job judging from how they did with HARM. But still, it takes a little bit more work than just bolting any 19 round pod to the back of a Hilux.

            Anonymous

To wit, even the a hack job is probably not going to perform as well as a goddamn Apache holy shit.

There's precious little public information about that.

bro it's just a cuing system. Apches don's even need it, they can replicate all it's functions. Not like it's a new chemical setup for radars that needs its own physics dissertations.

That's the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade that has been in Poland. Probably some Ukie on a base for training slapped his patch on a helm for some photo ops. They aren't getting Apaches.

Might indicate that they're getting Apache training in prep for a transfer, though.

They're probably training, and trying to figure out how much air defense Russia has left, or is able to competently use.

Belogrod happened because russia was operating “air corridors” to try and avoid ff incidents. They soon closed them after the ukies flew up one to belogrod. There is a reason why there have been no raids since

Neither side has. Helis are even more of a deathtrap than jets in ukraine right now and any attack heli sent is going to get promptly blown up

      >shitloads of fairly advanced AA missile systems and EW systems
Apaches are pretty good at handling that though.
They can do their own EW, don't need external intel support and go low and use ground clutter to evade radar and air defence missiles.

Currently, Ukie AF are having to fly their bombers like helicopters anyway to avoid SAMs so they may as well use helos that are designed to fight that way.

honestly I'm pretty excited to finally start seeing some western platforms (bradley, apache, ect) actually going head to head with Russian ones, I'm sure the cope will be unreal

If Ukes even sniff something as advanced as the apache, we're in for some eccentric shit.

    >Ukes perform yet another daring raid over the Dnipro, they've esstablish temporary air control again, whatever, is no problem, we know they can't stay there, hold the usual fortifications.

    >Helos arrive, but only two, guess they are scouting in this limited area heads down boys.

    >Wait, what the fuck *are* those?

    >Two apaches use their computational piloting system to act as 3-d printers, extruding filament across the dnipro and fabricating the shell of a new bridge.

    >Pressurised concrete fired into the shell, helos flying around assists with setting process.

how much chance does a Apache have against russian SU's and MIG's?
how good can it survive the AA of the russians?

      Anonymous

      >how much chance does a Apache have against russian SU's and MIG's?
Helos are prey for fast movers but only if they can be seen which is hard because they stay close to the ground and behind trees, buildings and hills. They're low enough that the curvature of the earth prevents long range detection.
Most SAMs can't effectively track anything that close to the ground. Flares will throw off IR tracking and radar is nearly useless. Missiles don't manoeuvrer so well at that altitude either, they have no ability to navigate obstacles also, typically they have complete freedom in three dimensions to intercept a target.

      >how good can it survive the AA of the russians?
AA won't even see them unless they go high, which they don't need to in a combat scenario.
MANPADs are a danger but they're usually far enough or fast enough to make actually targetting them hard.
