So it turns 90 degrees mid-flight and flies sideways when it goes from subsonic to supersonic?

This is theoretical. Unless they figured out anti gravity, than ops pic is nothing like this. Next time read the paper before posting?

If you had anti-gravity tech you wouldn't need a fricking bi-directional transonic blended flying wing.

Nifty. Reminds me of the scissor wing, but they're just gonna rotate the entire fuselage.

as cool as this would be, I'm willing to say it's definitely not that. The thrust is in line with the fuselage, meaning there's it's only possible to fly along that axis. The "double delta wing" diamond type shape is better suited to maneuverability as opposed to any other performance benchmarks in either supersonic or subsonic flight regimes (as seen with the F22). I'm assuming all of this without knowing the airfoil shape, which can tell a lot about what the aircraft is meant for. Hell, it could be a UAV or some kind of U2 replacement.

Maybe a developmental prototype, after all, they never build the final version first; probably a simpler, smaller craft for evaluation.

I'm in a very small minority who thought the remake, AKA Payday: Red Bull, was pretty good in its own right.

The original was good for its time but it wasn't a stellar movie, just a fun bromance heist film. The remake wasn't as good a bromance but a way better extreme sports film. The mysticism was bullshit but the production values, stunts and effects were amazing and the first film lacked a lot of that.

This looks a lot like some of the Fairchild recon drones. They never really had a true retirement date (same goes for Ryan Firebees). Maybe these are being used for target practice. Might make sense for the amount of training airfields around Eglin.

This is a long shot, though.
