Anyone know how how to print on rag paper (cotton paper) at home?

Anyone know how how to print on rag paper (cotton paper) at home?
I am going into a fairly ambitious prop money making project and I cant really find anything online that isn't a service.
Points for any other tips would be apricated.

Assuming the rag paper is a standard sheet size, just pop it in a high-end inkjet printer, avoid laser printers.

Good luck with your counterfeiting, and make sure to not take fentanyl before trying to break a fake $20 on a banana.

      Thanks anon.
I have a hard time believing it will be that simple. but you might just be right.
I am actually planning a very generous contribution to the saint Floyd foundation.

It's dumb to assume inkjets don't have similar technologies at work. There's more than just MICs going on, that was 80's tech.

Ever wonder why your printer won't print anything when you run out of color ink - even though the document you're trying to print is in black and white?

It's not just a trick to force you to buy more ink. You see, every modern consumer grade printer will automatically add a pattern of tiny yellow dots to everything you print with it. Yes, I really do mean every printer you could reasonably get your hands on. This pattern, invisible to the naked eye, is actually a code that can be used to track where and when the printer was sold (and, if the device has been registered online for warranty purposes, who it was sold to). How to decode this pattern is only known to a few intelligence agencies and is only used in very special cases, but in case of counterfeiting, you can bet your ass the feds will be on it as soon as one of those bills passes through a bank.

In addition, all modern scanners will "phone home" to law enforcement if it detects that you're trying to scan a bill. Same thing with Photoshop, should you try to use it for some reason during your "prop money making project".

In other words, don't use your own printer, and don't do it on a computer that's connected to the Internet. And don't forget that they have all sorts of other ways to track you, like for instance "anonymous" posts made on a Malaysian basket weaving forum.

    Good luck!

      >In addition, all modern scanners will "phone home" to law enforcement if it detects that you're trying to scan a bill.
Nope. You're clueless. Most scanners, especially retail scanners, don't have a brain - they're just sensors, that dump data to your drive. There's nothing there to "phone home". The driver controls the scanner - they use your PC's brain to operate - and they don't "phone home", because it's not illegal to scan currency. There's just very hard wired laws regarding what you can do with it, and Adobe bent a knee and have the detection built in now...for newer bills, that have the Urion codes. But there are still work-arounds for it, like embedding the scan in a PDF or Illustrator document, them importing into PS.
My old ass 2015 Epson scanner will scan every bill I tried, except a new $20, with the Urion codes. It didn't "phone home", it just refused to scan. For a $1, it scanned fine. I've heard some people can get scans by scanning new bills upside down, or at an angle. Dunno, because I'm not trying to counterfeit money, like a dumbass.

I worked in the printing industry, and most of what you posted is schitzophrenic paranioa.

Then you should have stated that to begin with, pissy pants.

And, even though I shouldn't tell you, because you're a pissy pants, cotton paper can run in laser and inkjet. Inkjet is better and less fussy.

First, what kind of printer. Laser, inkjet, or letterpress. (Pretty sure we're not talking offset at home.)
Second, what kind of prop? You can legally print prop money, if you follow the rules:

    https://propmoviemoney.com/blogs/prop-movie-money/is-prop-money-illegal

It's not illegal to scan or print modified versions of legal tender, again - just follow the rules, and there are work-arounds to scanning and editing them. Or just start with scans posted online.

What you DO with it is on you, and can get you some time in Fed lockup. Like slipping in a fake bill into a donation box is technically a felony, because of intent.

      Thanks.
Ill buy what ever printer I need.
The money is not a copy of a real bill so I am not worried. It just needs to not look like its on printer paper.
