Anyone here wear Corcoran Brown Jump Boots?

Anyone here wear Corcoran Brown Jump Boots? Not trying to be a parachutist, but I really like the way they look, and it seems like they would be good for light duty stuff around the home and workshop.

Any recommendations on sizing and experience?

I wore corcoran black jump boots all through college in the 80's, but afaik they haven't changed much since then. They fit true to size, I measure 9 1/2E on a brannock and that's the size I wear in jump boots. They are reasonably well built, the leather is a bit thin but they have reinforcement at wear points so they will last for years. They have great ankle support (which is why I wore them, I sprained my ankle twice in a few weeks my freshman year and my rotc friend recommended them). The soles do not have particularly good traction (you will slip on wet grass) but they last a good while and your local cobbler can resole them with a grippy modern vibram sole when the time comes.

The only other negative is they don't have speed hooks and their lace holes are close together so getting in them can take awhile. I'm actually pondering getting a pair of browns myself and cutting them down to about 7" which should make it considerably faster to get in and out.

Thank you for this recommendation. I have been looking for Munson lasted boots, but it seems like only Corcoran makes them nowadays. I have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel.

      >They fit true to size
I should clarify that they fit true to size if you wear proper thick socks. if you're planning to wear bargain bin white cotton socks then you'll probably want to go down a half size or more.

All of this. I word them for many years at least 3 pair, and they sre the best fit to foot I've ever had in a boot. You need to break them in and you should keep them up and take care of the leather but they become like a second skin.
Also, do yourself an infinite favor and get the side zip boots. Lace them once properly and never again, on and off in seconds, I usually stepped into mine and out the door almost without breaking stride.
      Well worth the price.

Very much would like to ask about sizing. I have a narrow heel and a wide forefoot from wearing barefoot shoes.

What size would you suggest? I typically wear a 11.5 in my barefoot shoes. I am interested because of the Munson last and the foot protection on shitty ground.

You're included in this question, too.

Narrow toes though in lots of Chinese boots.

red wing iron rangers are also munson last.

No, they aren't. They made a "Muson Ranger" once but it was a limited release in EUROPE and aren't made anymore.

Gay fetish boots, I'm sure you'll love them.

Thanks bro, looking forward to fricking the mother of my children in her tight butthole while wearing them.

My concern is the heel. I have a narrow heel and a wide forefoot. So I'm thinking about going down in size by 1/2 but getting a wide, maybe putting some insole in it that takes up heel space.

I bought a pair a year ago at a red wing store in the USA, and if it was not made on the munson last then it was made on a last so close as to be indistinguishable to my feet. I don't have them anymore because they didn't have the ankle support of jump boots and I twisted my ankle within a couple of weeks (which is why I'm now considering getting a pair of jump boots and getting my local cobbler to shorten the shaft)

            >I have a narrow heel and a wide forefoot
You'll love the munson last then. they were designed for flat-footed farm boys who only wore shoes on sunday. Also Alden tends to use a combination last with the heel portion a size smaller than the forefoot, e.g. an Alden width D will be lasted with a D forefoot and a C or B heel. They will be marked with the two widths on the inside of the shoe, e.g. "9.5 D/C"

If you have a wide foot they're not going to fit, instead of a D width like standard they're closer to a B (narrow). I bought a 14 Wide and it was roughly the same length and width as a 12 Regular tennis shoe, my foot did not physically fit in it even sockless

            >Description.
            (a) The boots must be between 8 to 10 inches in height and made of coyote-colored, flesh-side out cattlehide leather
with a plain toe and a soling system matching the color of the coyote upper materials. Rubber and polyether polyurethane are the only outsole materials that are authorized. The soling materials will not exceed 2 inches in height when
measured from the bottom of the outsole and will not extend up the back of the heel or boot or over the top of the toe.
The exterior of the boot upper will not contain mesh, but will be constructed of all leather or a combination of leather
            and nonmesh fabric.
            (b) The combat leather boot is made of leather with a deep lug tread sole made of vulcanized rubber, a removable
cushioned insert, a closed-loop speed lace system, and a leather padded collar. A vulcanized rubber sole is the only
outsole material that currently meets the need for durability and traction on surfaces. Other materials that may be of a
lighter weight may have significant problems in these areas.
            (2) How worn.
            (a) The black leather combat boots are worn with the ASU.
            (b) The brown leather combat boots are worn with the AGSU.

Red wing iron rangers you're welcome.

did you know that you can just buy shoes made of synthetic material? they're very durable and you don't even have to condition them. plus you wont look like a skinhead

Take your ugly ass sketchers and frick off off back to /lgbt/

Don’t wear in service military uniform items that you haven’t earned the right to wear. My guess is you’re probably European so you don’t know any better but this kind of infraction on your part would sign you up for first class ass whooping from any paratrooper or jump qualified soldier in the US who catches you wearing those in public

Absolute moron. No one is going to care about his boots and no paratrooper is going to do shit. Have you tried not being a homosexual for once and developing your personality beyond spending 4 years in the army.

Iron Rangers have kind of a wide heel and narrow toe for me. I tired them, but they fit weirdly.

Corcoran jump boots are AR 670-1 Compliant.

        Not brown leather ones.

No one cares about stolen valor, milsurp is cheap and durable and thats why people use it. Stop pretending, like wasting the best years of your life protecting israel is any kind of achievement. Also 8in leather boots suck, they are way too heavy for any kind of serious rucking, you are much better served with a shorter or synthetic boot. They are fine, when at the shop or working around vehicles.

I got a pair for $2 at a thrift store on a military base. They were brand new
    pretty comfy, I like them.
I wouldn't pay $200+ for them though. There are better constructed boots in the same price bracket. Watch a teardown video of them.

Good larping boot, I personally like to wear them for the skinhead aesthetic. Horrible combat boot as the flat outer sole will make about any surface slippery as it has no tread and the inner sole is a cheap layered on foam that will crumble apart after a while and become really uncomfortable. Although I won't be reviving them for another month or two, the Austrian paratrooper boots look pretty promising.

I feel like the tread is OK. It's not like I'm going to go sprinting across wet grass in them.

Corcorans come with Vibram soles, you dont have to get the deck soles, its not actually 1956 anymore

      [...]
Very much would like to ask about sizing. I have a narrow heel and a wide forefoot from wearing barefoot shoes.

What size would you suggest? I typically wear a 11.5 in my barefoot shoes. I am interested because of the Munson last and the foot protection on shitty ground.

      [...]
You're included in this question, too.

Similar. If your foot is proportionate and looks exactly like an anatomy textbook drawing of a footprint the Munson last will fit you. By default Corcorcans are EE IIRC. I would go half to 1 full size up from your sneaker size. I'm a 10.5 measured and 11-11.5 is great for me, esp since feet swell over a long day
      >does not apply to to EEE+, weird simian feet, big flappers or fatties

Boots have got a lot better since then my man.
You can get something a lot newer more comfy that looks close enough.
Never forget military boots or military items in general are made by the guys who could promise to make them just barely good enough for the cheapest price.
Your feet deserve better than that.

It's honestly more of a fit thing that I'm after. I also like their look. I feel like brown goes with a lot of stuff and doesn't scream "TACTICOOL" as black.
