Anyone else watched the UAE SWAT world cup? What did you think?

Anyone else watched the UAE SWAT world cup? What did you think? Basically 70+ countries from all over the world sent special police units to compete in timed challenges (which included target practice) and obstacle courses. There were cool police units from all over the world like BOPE (which surprinsingly scored very low, but better than other Latam countries including the Alacrán team)

The USA sent police agents from NYPD and San Antonio PD. There was a team from a Russian republic in the caucausus (dagestan i think) some countries even tried to innovate by sending their new all-female SWAT teams like Belarus.

Interestingly Dubai got both 1st and 2nd place, kazakstan got 3rd, Guyana's team was the worst performing overall.

        >Dubai got both 1st and 2nd place
I don't want to shittalk them too much, but that sounds like the classic Arab approach of training for those exact challenges and nothing else for a few months in advance.

I for one would pay good money to see the swiss guard in their wacky ass uniforms wipe the floor with swat teams from all over the world.

by coincidence, i still had a telegram channel open that mentioned this:

      >Kadyrov's son received a sports award for a competition in which he did not participate
      >16-year-old Adam Kadyrov, who beat Nikita Zhuravel, received an award for winning the UAE SWAT Challenge 2024 special forces competition in Dubai, in which he did not participate. At the end of the fourth day, the Akhmat team of the special regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chechnya won. The medal was awarded to the team members, as well as to Adam Kadyrov for his support.
      >This is at least (https://t.me/novaya_pishet/43583) the 10th award Kadyrov Jr. received after beating 19-year-old Volgograd student Nikita Zhuravel in a pre-trial detention center.

    >Interesting oil funded police states with serious internal security concerns that lead them to spend massive money on their security forces and train them 24/7/365 did best.
Not that interesting anon, Most places sent some flavor of Cops, but the Elite cops in places like khazakstan and dubai are bascially just special forces tasked with guard duty and given an infinite budget to protect dear leader/s.

San Antonio PD SWAT has to worry about stuff like sensitivity training and civil rights laws.
No such concerns for Al-Presidente's personal black bag squad.
It'd be like if the US sent a USSS executive protection detail.

Its a joke event, there are no actual first world ATLAS network units and looking at the list is a nauseating amalgamation of shithole thirdie “special” units that consist of malnourised or fat morons, depending on the country. Thirdies and post communist shit galore

majority of EU police forces don't have weekend SWAT like the US
they have dedicated actual paramilitary intervention teams, check out the ATLAS network
all they do is train and innovate, I had the pleasure to join one but I fell out of the 2 year basic training after 15 months because of two broken legs after a rappel accident
        this competition looks soft
        >part of our selection week was ice swimming and doing pull ups at 30m hanging from a tower crane

Yeah, they get loads of target practice when they turn up at the wrong house and hose down a teenage girl.

Yeah, they get loads of target practice when they turn up at the wrong house and hose down a teenage girl.

Maybe actually look at actual SWAT videos rather than basing it on a few stand alone situations.

I'm pretty sure European SWAT teams had more major terrorist incidents to deal with than their American counterparts. Shooting up a Black person or putting a scared office worker through lethal twister doesn't really count as action, mutt.

No, there's no way in hell TAG West or East would participate in any horseshit like this and they'd get blue balled big time not being able to actually kill the chink and zigger participants. The state police and AFP units aren't big enough to waste time on it. Also they'd probably get in trouble and not invited back for too much bantz.

TAG east and west are literal commandos or sasr no shit they'd btfo everyone

Unironically the problem with these competitons is that they are indeed very hard and don't really reflect the reality of the 70+ countries where the swat operators work, so the winners end up being people who actually trained for the swap cup specifically. I can imagine those Dubai guys have a lot of free time and money to train, while bope guys were busy actually operating and training by themselves on their free time. Nevertheless, it's a very cool thing.
