The Legislature just lame-ducked in an anti open carry bill (among several other anti-firearms bills), one of those "you can't carry within x distance of a transit facility and the sidewalk around all bus stops count as transit facilites lol" bits of New York-style homosexualry. We're working on a lawsuit, but with Sideshow Bob Ferguson running for governor that's gonna be an uphill fight.
Culturally? Outside King County and downtown Tacoma you'll be fine, just don't be a frickwit and make sure you've got retention. State law about liability for stolen guns is >fricked<, to the point of blatant unconstitutionality, and about to get much worse. Inside Thurston County it's complicated, there are a few areas like the center of downtown Olympia and parts of Lacey that are super-hostile, but a half-mile away no-one gives a single frick.

        >I'm Native
The local Res' will all have their own regulations, check in with them before you open-carry on Tribal land. Tribal cops out here usually cut Natives of any stripe a lot more slack than my mossback ass. Even then just not being a dick, asking nicely, and getting to know a couple people has gotten me pretty far.

It's one of the most valuable combos one can have, on account of both being huge and rich with very high international access. You seem rather provincially-minded to not understand that.

US/EU or Canada/EU are also of course top tier. Or better yet all three, which is what I'm working on.

            Well yea that's my point.

US/Japan or EU/Japan is probably better, but yeah it's incredibly difficult to get japanese citizenship.

                >it's incredibly difficult to get japanese citizenship.
Indeed. Japan/X would be god-tier if it was easier to obtain Japanese citizenship... Though if that were the case, Japan wouldn't be as desired a place to have citizenship.

lived within 5 miles of the WA/ID border my whole life on both sides. never noticed a difference. dumb laws from Olympia simply aren't enforced because no sheriff deputy or city cop wants to take a bullet enforcing their bullshit. even the staties nope out of pretty much everything. it's when you go west of the cascades that things go stupid.
it isn't a washington problem. it is a WESTERN washington problem. east side is just fine. frick olympia. frick seattle. frick the huskies. go cougs.

I see it all the time in rural communities like the Olympics or east of the Cascades. I've seen it maybe once in the urbanized areas around the sound, like Seattle and Everett. I've seen one guy additionally that was either open carrying or badly concealed carrying. No one's going to bother you

Seattlegay here. Seen one person open carrying in the 8 years I've been here, a Hispanic guy walking on the waterfront.

Probably 10 years ago there was a /k/ommando who reported having seen a white girl with a deagle brand deagle on her hip in Pike Place Market. Hard to imagine that today, but there you go.

  16. 2 months ago

    You can but do not.

    1. It says you cannot be intimidating while doing so and that just means if a single person calls the police and embellishes what you’re doing then it’s all over for you. Best case scenario your day is ruined.
    2. Black folk. It happened a year or two near me where some goober open carried to the park and was working on his laptop. Some urban youths saw the gun, snuck up behind him and then tried to steal the gun which he was then shot and killed with his own gun. Dont open carry, most people who endorse open carry don’t actually open carry every day. I conceal carry to work every day, I conceal carry everywhere unless there is a metal detector.
    https://www.kentreporter.com/news/man-19-charged-in-kent-murder-on-electronic-home-detention/
I got the details wrong. They saw him open carrying and decided to rob him of his gun. They snuck up on him and then shot him in the head when he didn’t hand it over. Don’t open carry, crime is extremely bad here and much worse than the statistics show as they haven’t caught up.

        > if you get caught
        > if store wants to press charges
        > if you get convicted
        > you get a $2.50 or $5 cash get out of jail

Not true, bipping and boosting happens all the time lmao.
The issue is a lot of the neighborhoods are extremely atomized and isolated. Going to magnolia is a polar opposite experience to going to 3rd and pike.

Kind of. Rifles and shotguns are fair if the seller follows the GCA (background check if in a state that requires it for all purchases). You still can't "import" an "assault weapon" per the WA definition. There's no customs at the border though so do what you will.
Pistols can't be transferred to you while you're out of state. You can buy one but the OR FFL is required to mail it to a WA FFL before going to you.

                Sigh, I just want galil.

It's legal without any permits but very weird in urban areas. I've only ever seen one guy do it and my mom assumed it was illegal and asked if we had to call the police.

CCW is very easy to get in this state which is probably the main reason people don't open carry over here very much. I don't go south of the ship canal bridge without a gun anymore. Never used to carry but Seattle is an open air insane asylum these days.
