It's not all buttons, here have my example.
In red, it's a cluster of lights and in green it's buttons.
So basically it's like the shit on the right but when you are too moronic and drunk to make a proper computer.
Most of the splitters and amps wouldn't be out of place in domestic base station installations about 15 years ago, sort of suspect that's what it fell off the back of some commercial supply. They just chuck it in an aluminium marine grade enclosure and drill some holes in it to run the connectors out of. I can't really say its been done inefficiently, but it is quite messy and I'd probably accept it for an ad-hoc modernisation that needed to be done- except that if this is straight out of the factory then its pretty fricking shabby. Like if you're designing this shitbox in the factory you'd put in specialised cabinets to keep it out of the way of the operators and crew so no one accidentally bonks a helmet into the bits.
They should have had full raised roof variant of the BTR by 1970. It could have a proper side door even. Soviet designers just got no respect for comfort
One thing to walk away from a serviceable piece of weaponry, quite another to leave something like that for your enemies to pick over - amazing really.
Why fricking bother when Ukrainians might be overrunning you any moment (you think) and you suddenly realize that your life is worth a lot more to you than protecting some sooper seekrit equipment. Why waste that minute or two you could be running?
Even the old Soyuz-TM instrument panel looks newer than this.
TBF, it was probably manufactured around the same time.
forgot pic
I'm sure all those buttons do stuff.

>All that fricking dirt
A rag and some fricking water, that's all it takes.
Is Ivan so undersupplied that he can't get a bucket and some cloth?
And to think, those vehicles are supposed to be NBC rated.
Is that normal for a production sample? It looks like it was jerry-rigged in a garage as a student project.

Imagine the money and gibs Western glowies are giving you for this
They already know the plans and know how capable it is (it isn't).
Glowies won't give you shit for that, I reckon.
Americans probably do.
European arms manufacturers could pay a decent penny for one for research purposes though.
*confused grunt noises*
Sure are a lotta lights and switches
command vehicle? EW vehicle? what is?
Artillery fire correction vehicle

How many years behind the west is the "tech" on this thing?
2 decades at least
functionally not much behind. Fortunately its users are drunk apes
imagine being inside one of these and then you see a PzH2000 or a HIMARS on radar
One thing to walk away from a serviceable piece of weaponry, quite another to leave something like that for your enemies to pick over - amazing really.
If they left a T-90M fully intact then frick everything else
Seems the bois in Nevada are really busy these days
Is it that hard for a Russian to pour some fuel into his tank and toss in a grenade before he abandooons?
The famished, demoralised grunts which operate those things probably can't care less at this point
no logistics for fuel or grenades

They must be pulling triple shifts over at Langley these days.
Langley infirmary must be full of analysts seeking medical attention since their erections have lasted more than four hours.
Looks like it's from the 90s.
You could fit the functions of all that tech into a single smart phone these days
Just need the sensors
What the frick, this looks so outdated.
It's not. Was built in 2018. Really makes you wonder what the US uses. Probably just as bad.
>It's not.
REALLY??
>Really makes you wonder what the US uses. Probably just as bad.
I can safely say that's not the case.
You can safely say? Do you have proof?
Of course i took pictures of the inside of commande vehicles while i was in the army, both from the USA and Europe when I was there. check your dms 😉
So no proof. Okay.
>So no proof.
Wow you're such a smart boy 🙂
Honestly military gear often looks outdated because it's supposed to work in harsh environments and be easily replaceable.
Looks pretty modern for Russian standards tbqh
They just spam command vehicles to capture zones and forgot to move them.
Is that irvemictine on the table?
