                >That's not a recession. That's just inflation.
Also a return to long term normality. A lot of people, particularly zoomies, got used to post-Cold War ENDOFHISTORY surplus floods and military drawdowns that, combined with few shooters, artificially deflated ammo prices for a few decades. Corruption in ex-soviet countries added onto that, lots of stuff (not just ammo) was sold for ludicrously low prices because it wasn't official at all.

Eventually though even decades of massive military buildup supplies will run out, and of course peer war is now back on the menu. There may not be another period quite like that in our lifetimes.

                Anonymous

The only way for a period like that to happen again in our lifetimes is for WW3 or Cold War 2 to happen and conclude with the US victorious without being nuked. Then we get a flood of Chinese or whatever surplus.

              Anonymous

We've had 2 consecutive quarters of GDP decline so, yes, there is a recession, even if our political talking heads do not want to say it.

                Anonymous

Its not a recession technical or otherwise. I'm assuming you are just lying

"Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 2.1 percent in the second quarter of 2023 (table 1), according to the "second" estimate released by the Bureau of
Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 2.0 percent.30 Aug 2023"

In fact the US economy is rock solid right now, money printing is off, the fed had well managed inflation and brought it down, employment is full, stock markets are up, banks are liquid and capitalised. The US economy has not been this solid in a long time.

It's crazy to me that people have been snatching up everything they can for so long that even revolvers have gotten swept up. Even during the post SH Feinsteining I could find .38 everywhere and even found a 686+ on sale at Academy that I regret not buying. .380ACP has generally been pretty safe because everyone on forums and in physical stores usually says to just buy a 9mm but with all of the cool shit that dropped this year I anticipate that it's going to become harder to find and/or more expensive.

Nor the other guy that responded to you but I'd like to remind people the "panic proof" apparent calibers that were still on the shelf were the last ones made for a long time. They weren't being resupplied before more of everything common was produced. They were merely the last to go and once they went they didn't come back for a long time.
