America would have been so kino during WW1 if they had fully gone with the lever action rifle, pump shotgun, and 1911 aesthetic. The Springfield is so boring, either be a Mauser or nothing at all.

Lever guns die if you get dirt in them and arent easily cleaned out like a bolt action.

Tbh if we were gonna go for a levergun we should've done the Savage musket. There was actually a pretty solid chance we would've adopted it over the Krag, were it not for some political fuckery. Considering how long production for its successor lasted, they might've stuck around a shockingly long time too, provided it worked out.

You can feed these with stripper clips too. I've done it with my rotary mag .300 Savage. All you need to do is depress the auto cutoff and they'll slide right in.

Those are a stunningly beautiful rifle, and the 99 action is quite robust.

So you think it would be kino if the US were saddled not only with the jamomatic chauchat, but also a jamomatic lever gun?

They were too busy winning with the
    >springfield nagger lyncher 3000’s
    >19 “subhuman destroyers” 11
    >and the B.A. “fuck your mother with it” R.
Not to mention the Chicago type writer and the trench broom.
WW1 America was just not to be fucked with on any level.
Those care free innocent days of the Wild West were a closing.

By 1919 maybe. In 1917 we were definitely sub-par.

Britain was critically reliant on American convoys for supplies
America also loaned a shit ton of money to the Triple Entente

and it would have been so KINO if American troops showed up ready to go in mid-1918 with their Winchester rifles.

So you are a style over substance fag? Right. This is one of the few times I would actually agree with fudd types reverance of old shit. The Springfield was chosen for a reason and that is because it worked, could be shat out in large numbers and be decently tough against the elements of European weather. Just go buy one and add it to your collection instead of fantasising to rest of the board how you want G.I. cowboys.

We could have continued using the trapdoor for WW1 and nothing would have changed.
