Not looking for throw but insane spill that isn't a fricking pistol light.

Why would you get an alternative? If you need a relatively short range light that's it, you've got decent throw for defensive use but lots of spill, good durability and can use rechargeable 18650 batteries

there's nothing that has as much spill. plhv2 has plenty of spill but not as much as m600.

I have a Steiner Mk4 which is my fav weapon light, but it’s discontinued. I’m looking at a Z-Bolt LED now, I like how they make their own dual switch tail cap that uses Crane plugs. Also looking at Weltool, both offer lights in ODG which is my build.

I kind of want one of the Weltool LEP dealies.
      They just look neat.

They are pretty cool, I just think it’s way more light than I need. Weltool must be doing a close out bc they have some big sales going on. There was a TFB article discussing them and also Atibal.

        >insane spill
        Use a pistol light.
        >that isn't a fricking pistol light
Why? If I can put an LEP on my pistol, you can put a TLR-1 HL on your rifle.

I have no practical use for a wml with this kind of throw, but they are an absolute hoot to fool around with. Everybody should have one.

          >LEP on my pistol
Frick yes my dude. What body are you using to pull this off?
I've got an obnoxious "space glock" build I've been putting together over the course of a few years and this is the WML I want for it.

I really want to do this with my M17 but Amend2 doesn't make a module with the fricking safety cuts. I'm tempted to buy the grip and just dremel out the slots in myself.

The LEP’s? I kind of picture them as light sabers/liquid plasma rays.

true if you have no nods and want to shoot targets at night for fun yeah. in a defense situation though long throw lights are pointless and will get you killed. and most only have lights for the latter.

What other dumb take is this? Is this like idiot club for lights in this thread? What makes you think having throw on a light means someone doesn't own NV? The OKW head is for an SPR/GPR setup or any setup that is used outdoors. Once you stop LARPing in your parent's basement you'll realize that light barriers in real life exist. You should use NV and have good throw. Even SageDynamics prefers the OKW to the PLH head because if the better identification at distance. That's like arguing that having TOO MUCH velocity from your rifle is a bad thing because you want to track the bullets better or something. It makes no sense.

It’s a meme, not my dissertation on night ops. I’m well aware of what performance is optimum under NV and how the Modlites rank (which Id be happy to own). I also never said too much throw is bad, especially at night. As for LARPing, pic rep.

Just hold out for a deal on a Protac Rail Mount 1 or 2, often right at $100. You can find the 1’s on eBay for $80+ usually.

$70 is your starting point and that's for a TLR 1. $100 is more realistic.

realistically he doesn't need lights on all of them at all times unless he's arming the block. in which case they should chip in too

No he doesn't, but it's funny as frick to watch morons buy 9 PSA rifles and not have optics or slings for half of them, and the optics they do have are all bottom of the barrel garbage.

I was always curious how those are.

I always liked the aesthetics of them and the Mk5 too. It’s got good throw compared to my Scout, Protacs, 6P, KE3, cool white light. Instead of paying Steiner prices for a new pressure switch you can buy an identical one for a PEQ for $10. I added the Modbutton Lite and it’s even better now since you can’t fit the switch in any of the LCS’s.

        moronic take

          Anonymous

no it's the correct take. you probably have some moronic ideas about using your wl to spotlight someone 500 yards away who will shoot you way before you ever see them if they mean you harm. that's why police have spotlights on their cars and surefires on their guns.

I have both. Standard KE2 head on one and an OKW on another. I actually own the OWL as well (from CD). Do you own any of these? The OKW is the best out of the 3 by far, for any scenario. The OWL light is too warm for my taste, but it has a brighter throw than the m600df, the m600df is a fine light, it just has very little photonic penetration, it has the widest spill yea but when you actually use your equipment (which you don't) you'll see the real difference. Your logic makes no sense, if you are gonna use a light you want to be able to PID and/or blind someone, not fricking throw a limp dick throw on them. The m600df has little use other than maybe as a handheld light when you convert the head to be used with a 18350 modlite.

              Anonymous

you don't need to be piding anyone with a weapon light from 500 yards away. if they want to kill you they will do so before you ever spotlight them. you have a giant arrow pointing at you in the darkness and they are hiding. if they don't mean you harm, you've now brandished at a random person who is justified in shooting you. long throw lights are for fun not defensive use.

                Anonymous

You are narrowing the situation to a single use case. The situation doesn't have to be purely defensive especially if ROL doesn't exist. But I guess that's your copium for owning only a single light for a single situation. Lights are for PID and/or blinding the frick out of someone/something, and the OKW excels at both.
