This isn't the gotcha moment you think it is, Ukraine has multiple volunteer units as well.

No one gives a frick about warcrimes anymore. Russians have been looting, killing and raping civilians from day one, and taking videos/pictures of it all to brag. Russians are subhuman. Have you seen the images of them posing in that airliner they shot down? There are pictures of them digging through the luggage lmao.

So has Ukraine, again I will post a report by a freelance journalist and an amnesty international article. But it is true, war crimes have gone unpunished, maybe they will set up a tribunal after the war? I think the idea is you just let the slavs frick each other

100k extra troops who are mostly ALREADY starving. The well fed guys you see in the parades are not the majority of the Nork army, and they need those well fed guys to maintain order.
But if they did send their elites, man that would be a historic regime ending blunder. If Ukraine does manage to topple both Russia and NK, two of the most evil nations on the planet like that, they shouldn't just be let into NATO and the EU, they should be given a permanent seat on the fricking UN security council. There really isn't a reward too big for that tbh.

Unmotivated borderline-starved norks who have next to no training whatsoever being sent to help Russia is objectively funny as frick.

Almost nobody would defect because in the DPRK military your family is held hostage and if you do anything to go against the supreme leader they kill them. Only soldiers without any family whatsoever would defect

You can work out above scenario in several ways, including those where soldiers frag their leadership.
Aside from that, the culture shock of seeing lifestyle of UKR vs NK would likely be shocking. Wondering if the NK troops could ever really return home.

          >the culture shock of seeing lifestyle of UKR vs NK would likely be shocking. Wondering if the NK troops could ever really return home.
Amerifats seem to think that just because the USA isolates NK, NK is isolated from everyone. They have tourists, industry, restaurants, and all the other stuff everywhere else has. It's crap quality and they can't afford to do much, but it exists. Same deal with Iran, Cuba, Syria, pre-invasion Iraq, and anywhere else.

I read some memoir of a Frog who was sent there to work with their animation studio. Apparently NK has a lot of people who draw animated cartoons for the highest bidder, and Frogs have no problem making use of that.

I've been wondering if The Simpsons is animated in NK or SK. I know they at least used to do most of the work in one of the Koreas.

            Anonymous

            >just because the USA isolates NK, NK is isolated from everyone
That is absolutely true. The tourists you see aren't even allowed to talk to the people and as soon as they start speaking to them even in Korean about their day the handlers propping up the "fun event" they're attending immediately try to push them away from the tourist. The only people who are even allowed to interact with tourists have been vetted by their government and it's to interact with them for the bare minimum. Yeah, they see tourists with cameras and smartphones. So? That's as much as they get to see.

They see stuff on their flash drives with imported Korean dramas and western shows with Korean subtitles. But that is a fraction of a fraction of people who will risk getting executed by the state for looking at it. I mean for crying out loud, there are constant stories even from defectors that say they have to keep their way of viewing videos hidden because if anyone outside their house sees the light they can be reported to the state and have their house searched.

You are making it sound like NK is getting massive lucrative deals from outside sources and all this other stuff to introduce the NK civvies to the outside world when we know from firsthand accounts none of that shit is going on in any meaningful way. Even the tourists note and show that Pyongyang's traffic is nonexistent with one car driving on two or three lane (Forgot how much since it's been a while) streets during what should be considered the rush hour and their most important train system isn't even packed at rush hour. The average, general public doesn't even watch the K-dramas nor do they see outside sources and are stuck with whatever the DPRK sends their way.

I think the word "topple" is too immediate as Russia won't collapse immediately once they pull out. But their five months of frickups in what was supposed to be a two-day regime change and one-week war has made sure they're an international embarrassment and the only thing keeping anyone taking them seriously is their oil and their nukes (the maintenance of which is questionable). I think this is the end of Russia's current government.

Technically there's no treaty anybody signed giving Russia the Soviet Union's Security Council seat. They just assumed they'd keep it and we just let them. Maybe Congress should recognize Ukraine as the legal Soviet successor state.

      It's bullshit.

The DPRK can be a major help to Russia in terms of ammo and spare parts for things like the T-62 but Russia can't afford major systems like rocket launchers, Koksans or guided missiles. Russia can't afford to pay the DPRK enough. Even the things Russia needs most (artillery ammo) will be costly because the only currency the DPRK accepts is gold and human souls.

The DPRK will not help Russia beyond a 'Cash, oil or gold' relationship because they have no reason to do so.

      North Korea makes 10x more tanks, MLRS and missiles than Russia does and has done so for decades. Why would they help a former bully like Russia for free? The DPRK is doing fine, why the frick would they want to get involved in a European war with zero benefits for a weakened "ally" that they would probably be better off ignoring or even invading themselves? Vladivostok is right there after alll;

There is always a chance I'm wrong, like I was with expecting Russia not being moronic enough to invade Ukraine

Kim from everything I've seen has kind of seen the "writing on the wall" so to speak and doesn't want his country to just quietly spiral downwards even further until sold off. I think he secretly wants peaceful Reunification, but just wants to finagle the decades long process so that the north comes out as well off as possible.

I highly doubt North Korea is using preloaded target lists. Their primary nuke delivery vehicle right now is probably their Iskan-dong, and we know Iskander has plenty of target flexibility. Maybe they have fixed target lists for their ICBMs, but you don't need an ICBM to hit China from Norkistan.

MonXi does not care about economy. If he did he would not engage in moronic lockdownerism.

What he and his merry band of gangsters care about is relative power level compared to the US. Losing Russhitia even as a minor credible threat by euros borders would cause the entire US attention to focus on them. Which is a death sentence to them as the US naval superiority, even in its weakened state after being infected with the woke virus, is just overwhelmingly crushing. A serious war effort would see their coastline cut off which also means death of exports-imports and the much feared famine plus regime change threat.

the lockdowns are an excuse. Chyna's real problems are wouthless infrastructure projects designed to artificially boost their GDP - that shit doesn't make money. Idiots constantly love to bring the US debt, but Chinks are the ones who really have the problem with it. Their housing sector is fuelled by debt.

Also not based on Pokpung-Ho, since that is essentially a stretched T-62 with 6 large roadwheels.
And I can't think of a 7 wheeled tracked vehicle in the DPRK Army, so even if it is a cardboard tank ,they did make a new chassis for it

Yeah, it's pretty common. It's obvious that he had his stomach surgically altered, that's why he lost all the weight and went into hiding for so long. The problem with this is that you are hungry ALL THE TIME. Al Roker was like one of the first big names to get this done, and while he initially lost a ton of weight a lot of came back because he was hungry all the time. It honestly sounds maddening.

This would be moronic. Kim keeps his power through strangling everything that gets into NK. The two scenarios are either

    1. North Koreans are decisive in the victory. Russia wins, and 50k NK are given combat experience and knowledge of how even russia and donbabwe have 100x the lifestyle. Then, these soldiers get sent home to their paper tiger and are expected to be content with NK living standards

    2. NK soldiers are defeated. NK looks like more of a joke, is down that much men and materiel, and has nothing to show for it.

There are no strategic gains for Kim here, but as a dictator maybe all the yes men fail to tell him that.

North Korea has only fought one war in their entire existence and that was with Stalin carrying their ass after his Asian boytoy did what he was groomed to do. From malnutrition to total lack of any sort of actual combat experience in almost a century I seriously doubt they’ll be anything other than cannon fodder at best, and will probably be reduced to a few thousands at most who “volunteered” to go to Ukraine over 100k, of which just getting these chucklefricks there without half of them dying in transit would be a miracle. These are highly collectivist Asian countries with a never ending chip on their shoulder, bullshit appeals and words that mean nothing are kind of their thing. How many times has NK thrown a tard rage about how they’re totally gonna bomb Seoul or nuke America for example? All I know for sure is the Norks will get absolutely frick all beyond the clothes on their backs as far as equipment goes, Russia can’t even supply itself.

I don't think you are aware of why the Chinese went so spastic and suffered so much to such aggressive wave tactics. Mao was being egged on by revolutionary leftovers and "Red guard" milita types who were way too radical and had been Trotsky levels of worldwide revolution mindset. Mao's generals internationally sent those fevered troops in mass waves because they were specifically told to get rid of them.

        >Are you aware that at no point in the entire Korean war did China/NK outnumber the UN?
Perhaps in total in-theatre personnel if you count all the cooks aboard supply fleets? During the Yalu offensive in autumn 1950 you had ~300k Chinese troops in 8 armies plus whatever was left of the KPA against 2 ROK corps and 2 Americans ones. So roughly 320-350k commies against 120-200k UN troops in North Korea.

        Anonymous

        >We got beat
And the UN didn't get defeated in the war. They achieved their initial mandate of restoring ROK territory and ending the war. They just failed in the secondary objective of eliminating the norks that was only ever considered because they imploded after Inchon. The PVA showed up in force and quickly forced the UN to withdraw from the North. After regrouping south of Seoul the UN pushed back up to the 38th parallel and waited for the communists to accept a ceasefire.

Are you moronic? My point was that it wouldn't happen.
The logistical challenge involved is beyond Russian at this point. To dedicate enough resources to the task, they would have to sacrifice precious time, effort, manpower, vehicles, fuel, and other resources which can be otherwise used to move artillery shells, fuel, and rations to the frontlines.
Managing the norks is actually going to damage the Russian war effort more than it helps.
Only a child/ESL would imagine a whole army being instantly teleported to the frontlines, without any challenge, and immediately be effective.

the language barrier would be crippling as youd need a translator at every squad otherwise youre going to have severe problems organzing any sort of offensive
