BUIS and/or not needing to immediately double to cost of the rifle with an optic just to be able to shoot it straight
unless they're tall enough to interfere with scope mounting, why *wouldn't* you want them?
>friend inheirited his grandpa's rem700bdl >has sweet ass iron sights on it >you have to remove the rear one if you want to mount a scope
feels sad man
>buy cheap .22 that came with scope and no irons >Can't zero for shit with the scope at 75 yards >buy low profile dovetail to weaver rail adapter >attach aftermarket .22lr mossberg rear sight >for the front sight I put on an aftermarket 12 gauge mossberg sight with some high heat resistant rubber between the sight and barrel to help hold it in place >The fucking thing could hit a soda can at 75 yards no problem
Irons are the future.
Just mount your own
And they better be aperture sights or youre a fag
What’s nice is you can shoot out to a thousand yards with good irons, and you can spend thousands on some really nice iron sights
I guess I'll ask it here. The first gun I ever shot was one of my grandpa's .22 lrs it was bolt action and fed by clips it held 10 rounds and there was no removable magazine it had irons when he went senile my grandma sold them all off for vacation money does anyone know the model I may be talking about because I've wanted to get one for years
It was fed by clips and a 22lr bolt action? I’ve never heard of such a thing, and if that’s actually what it is then it should be easier for you to track down
That's the worst part of I've been looking for years and if I saw it I'd know it but there's nothing online that matches my description he's 102 though so maybe it was some weird thing that wasn't produced a whole bunch
Can't any rifle with a mauser action and a free floating barrel be fitted into a wooden stock?
And given that lazer bore sights exist, what's so hard about welding a front post onto a rifle, hexing an adjustable rear sight onto a rifle, using the rear sight to basically file the front post into position then using the fixed front post to set the rear side to a variable zero rather than just a fixed zero? Basically you would flip the rear sight to 500, discover it was out of alignment, then angle the whole sight block until the zero held at both 0 and 500. Then just weld it in with the hex still attached.
A lot of bolt actions only had two or three rear sight positions given their limited engagement range.
>And given that lazer bore sights exist, what's so hard about[...]
That sounds like a lot of work that you'd have to pay a skilled human to do instead of omitting the irons on the (reasonable) assumption that the buyer is just going to stick a scope on it anyway.
Mossberg MVP Scout/Patrol come with iron sights. Front fiber optic.
They have ones chambered in .308, 5.56, and .300blackout. I got my MVP Patrol in .308 for $550 used. It also takes AR10 mags and not some proprietary bullshit.
>almost nobody makes bolt actions with iron sights anymore
Why would you want a modern rifle like this? Just get an old one.

Because I'm not poor and can afford a quality optic
Okay, but a large majority of gun owners can't justify dropping 3k on an optic, and 1k on a bolt action.
Irons can be better in many ways
how?
Why do you guys even buy scopes when you hunt at 70 yards?
Mauser.
>but I'm poor
Ruger?
>nobody makes harmonica rifles
Why even live?
>no one makes this shitty rifle no one wants
whoa
Tfw no carry sized black powder pepper boxes in serial production
>nobody makes 25 ACP top loaded SMGs anymore
>nobody makes top loaded anything anymore
Fuck this gay timeline and fuck optic users
Zastava seems to make affordable ones.
Feels good to be an MLEchad.

Just point it at a 10yd target and walk it out, idiot
That's not as fun.
Just mount your own

Just get a bolt action ar and shut up.
do these work without a buffer tube

BSA Sportsman 10? It doesn't take clips though.
