What 055 debacle? The 112 850mm VLS It got in the end instead of 128 635mm VLS that most people thought It would have? The Type 003 was officially confirmed during Its launch ceremy that It had both EMALS and AAG.

I'm excited to see if they can actually get it to work properly and reliably, it will be the first non-western nuclear powered aircraft carrier ever built.

God they are going to irradiate every individual that sets foot on that vessel.
Even as a brainwashed Chinese mainlander, you'd have to be basically retarded to climb aboard after a lifetime of experiencing your countrymen's workmanship in all other aspects of life.

I'm more interested on the Type 076 Drone carrier with EMALS, that's what will be the future of naval warfare. Being able to launch AWACS, ASW planes and drones to do recon, hunt subs and provide targeting data to the rest of the fleet at a fraction of the cost of full sized carriers

        Aren't they already building LHD's?

The Type 076 only exists on paper so far. The only evidence it's even a thing are RFPs that were circulated around a few years ago.

So what's the difference between the 075 to the 076 besides drones?

              Anonymous

Pretty much the only difference would be the presence of of catapult and arresting system, which would enable the deployment of fixed wing UCAVs.

              Anonymous

By having a catapult and arresting gear It can launch fixed wing drones and even J-15T and J-35 aircraft for providing ground support to PLANMC during amphibious operations without having to develop dedicated VTOL aircraft which have restrictions in both range and payload.

it's insecure thirdie behaviour. they constantly compare themselves to their betters because they know we are the standard and they are cheap knockoffs, it's a sort of subconscious admission of their own inferiority.
you see it with russians too, they decided with the su-75 femboy that:
                >"n-no, this time we'll make our OWN nato reporting name and use a foreign language, english, which we can't understand, to call it the CHECKMATE. (not even following nato reporting names for fighter aircraft.)
it honestly sound like a small child who KNOWS how shitty his model airplane is compared to everyone else, but puts on a brave face regardless. i know it may sound overblown but i really can't compare it to anything other than the thinking of a toddler, and they do it constantly, not in isolated cases.

    >chinks constantly insist carriers are obsolete
    >desperately trying to build a carrier themselves
What did they mean by this?

US carriers are vulnerable near the Chinese coast due to ASBM's, but chink carriers can still dab on their neighbors with theirs and also during peacetime they're the best tool for dickwaving. Imagine chink Carriers sailing near the West Coast doing carrier ops and how demoralizing It would be for the US.
