a year ago i lost one of the best friends i've ever had. We had served together for 5 years, and he took me under his wing helping me to pull my head out of my ass as a young corpsman to the point where I took over for him as the senior line corpsman of our company when he was promoted. On the battlefield I was told there were fewer men more fearless than him, as a father he was the only person besides my own father whose advice I would seek. A father at 18 years old he joined the military and kept his marriage together through four deployments, three of which were combat deployments, and somehow still found time to help his son when he could even though we were half way around the world, and still lead on and off the battlefield to help mentor and guide young frick ups like myself. Its finally really hit me after a year, and i am sad as frick. For him I feel nothing but pride having known him and although cancer whittled him down his last year I will still only see him as the stoic, calm, cool-headed leader when shit started collapsing around us during my first mass-casualty. Life is a bastard /k/ommandos. I didn't know where else to post. Military/War stories thread i guess.

I will tell the tale of a frick up named Lawrence.
    >Be corpsman assigned to 1st Marine Division.
    >brand new boots so we have to go through Combat Trauma Management(CTM). Its a refresher/lessons learned course taught by guys recently back home from a combat tour.
    >Going through the part of the course where they bring us down to a realistic afghan village with actual afghani actors playing the locals.
    >Moving "casualties" through town. Set up CCP somewhere as part of the drill and then move casualties again.
    >move to final checkpoint. Me and my battle buddy are moving our casualty.
    >See Lawrence just standing at the end point.
    >i ask how he moved so fast since he was moving a heavy dummy by himself and hes always struggled with that
    >goes pale white despite being mullato.
    >oh frick i forgot it!
    >tell him i'll go with him before the instructors see what happens so we all don't get fricked
    >grab the dummy with him
    >get to the end point and don't see any instructors
    >think we're in the clear
    >Nope.jpg
    >from the rooftop across the way i hear
    >took you long enough frick face!
    >instructor was watching the whole time.
    >forms sqaud in cirlce around him, and chews our asses for not helping each other, and continually letting Lawrence be a colossal frick up
    >finally he just singles our Lawrence
    >how in the frick did you forget the heavy fricking body you were carrying the ENTIRE! FRICKING! DRILL!?
    >Makes us all right-face.
    >makes us all walk in a circle making a train noise except Lawrence.
    >chuck-a-chuck-a-chuck-a-chuck-a
    >Lawrence is the whistle except instead of saying "CHOO-CHOO!" he has to say "I'm a frick up!"
    >we do this for a few minutes while the other squads and actors watch.
    >mfw

      >we are too fast for the instructors to really single out the guys who would usually be slow
      >except Lawrence who was sleeping in PT shorts only.
      >they all swarm him except for the two shuffling us out the doors
      >Finally after 5 minutes of non-stop screaming at him he joins us outside where we were getting beat until the whole squad was formed
      >Form up in fire teams and wait to stack up on the door to go into the "kill room".
      >The kill room is a dark room with loud noises and casualties for us to treat. They called in "stress inoculation".
      >The instructors of every fire team are going down the ranks breaking open chemlights and pouring them on the people who need to be watched the most because they performed the worst the entire week during class
      >Lawrence is the only guy in my team. They pour all 10 on him.

No. People in the real world can get cancer as well. He probably got it from breathing in the burn pits during his many deployments. But of course the VA doesn't claim that shit.

i have seen death in combat, in natural disasters, and in the bed comfortably in a hospital, and i have seen what cancer does to someone. I'd say cancer is the most egregious because it can take down people you perceive as larger than life.

He used to come up with the most convoluted ways to ask for a cigarette, "Hey, anon you know they poison one smoke out of every pack?" At which point id tell him to frick off and give him one. If you wouldn’t kill them, is it totally unreasonable to break into a food truck and give them all prion disease that slowly eats their brains over the course of decades, leaving them drooling vegetables?

What about planting license plate capture cameras outside their base, stalking them individually, then igniting their houses so they die with their families of smoke inhalation?

There’s always the one where you poison their kids and make them raise a family of people as moronic and broken as they are

But what about the satisfaction gained of the taste of their blood? These methods deny you that.

Edges are a good idea. Separating a ranger from their intestines slowly with an edged tool could be an effective form of recompense, especially if their childrens limbs are severed and shoved up their gaping butthole first

    >be at new battalion
    >Lawrence has kind of fricked up a few basic things, but nothing really to go crazy about. Higher ups just chalk it up to being a boot/prior nuke(if you know you know)
    >Friday finally comes and the BC has decided to grace us with a half day.
    >Form up in front of the Barracks as a battalion in a U Shape. See pic related.
    >BC is giving speech about how we'll be getting ready to start our training for our afghan rotation next week, yadda yadda yadda.
    >I notice movement behind HQ
    >Lawrence is noticeably swaying back and forth
    >see a salty HM3 holding him up by the collar of his blouse whispering angrily in his ear
    >kneeslocked.png
    >Despite his best efforts he can't keep Lawrence up, but at least is able to control his fall
    >Marines in front of me now notice and start to giggle
    >the Sgt.Maj notices the giggling, and then sees what they're giggling at. He rolls his eyes.
    >pathetic.jpg
    >I see the HM3 trying to wake Lawrence up by slapping him repeatedly
    >Battalion surgeon comes over, and pushes the HM3 aside
    >Starts slapping him even harder until he wakes up
    >Battalion commander finishes his speech and looking over at the commotion "I guess this is as good as any other time to dismiss you if Sgt.Maj doesn't have anything for you"
    >He grunts some sort of "no sir"

My roommate at my first duty station was a bisexual former heroin addict and KKK member who supposedly embezzled funds from his local Klan chapter and used them to throw drug-fueled BDSM orgies. According to him they threw a segregated barbecue with the local Black Panthers chapter one time, two yards with a fence in between.

How did we go from a guy in the army abused your daughter, got her into drugs, and she killed herself to the 75th ranger regiment are all child rapists? I'm not saying there aren't bad guys because I came across bad guys at every command, but your larping is coming off inconsistent.
