At least it crashed into a mountain and not a city block this time, a marked improvement over past crashes.

The real question is why doesn't the number of flowers match the number of men or the four pairs of flowers match three pairs of air crew or something that makes any sort of sense at all?

if they weren't on takeoff/landing then short of a sudden and complete single engine failure at low altitude and low speed this shit was controlled flight into terrain. They've got ejection seats.

Eh, could have been both if their RADALT was malfunctioning and the hadn't preflighted the elevation along the way. I don't know how tall those mountains are. But yeah, sounds like CFIT.

Suicide dwarfs are a problem. It is well known they can carry many times there own small weight so the amount of explosives they blow themselves up with is terrifying.

Aircraft break down under the best of circumstances.
Poorly maintained aircraft managed by thieving alcoholic halfwits in a much overused wartime environment are lucky to still be operational at all.

Post from Ukrainian tg-channel explaining situation

The Su-34 that officially crashed in North Ossetia this morning is a symptomatic phenomenon and says much more than it might seem from the official statement.
The Ministry of Defense's plane crashed during a training flight. Two eternal flights. Technical malfunction.
The Ministry of Defense six add that this happened during a relocation to another airfield in the mountains of North Ossetia.
Also called the place where it happened. The village of Mountain Dzuarikau.

When the 2022 war began, Russian Su-34s were deployed close to the borders. Baltimore and Yeisk were the most remote airfields. Airfields located at minimal distances from the LBS were actively used. Ukraine had a hard time with means of destruction at distances over 100 km and Russian aviation felt quite comfortable with such deployment.

In recent months, Russian airfields have been increasingly under attack from both Western cruise and ballistic missiles and Ukrainian drones. Applies to all airfields.

Training centers for the Su-34 are Lipetsk and Baltimore. They have nothing to do in the mountains. In the last couple of years they have been flying a lot and no additional training is needed. The departure was a relocation to Vladikavkaz or Mozdok. Which are also under attack. But there are fewer flights to these airfields than to Baltimore and Yeisk. Russian aviation is being pulled to the rear, where it has a slightly better chance. During the flight, the Russian professionals decided to show off, having fun in the mountains, and used all their professionalism to the point of complete denazification.

Something similar has been observed in the last six months with the remains of the Black Sea fleet. Beaten and intimidated by BECs and flying drones, the Russian fleet found itself at the bottom or locked in bases. Moreover, he escaped from the Sevastopol bases. Currently floating in the closed Sea of Azov or stationed in Novorossiysk.

You only get the eternal flight if your aircraft is destroyed by the enemy. Driving it into the ground is inglorious.
Also, since it is a fighter bomber, the back seater goes to hell automatically as bombers are doomed.
