which one will be the best and why?
Ask again in 10 years.
The only flying 6th gens within the next ten years will be the USAF NGAD and USN NGAD (F/A-XX).
The other non-American aircraft on this list will be generation 5.5 in capability when they enter service 5+ years later
you forgot best stealth
such good stealth that no one will ever see one
Russian aircraft have been a meme since powered flight was invented.
The Franco-German thing is being killed by red tape.
Japanese aircraft have been a meme since 1943.
It's between Tempest and NGAD
Japanese joined Tempest
>Japanese aircraft have been a meme since 1943.
Didn't they manufacture their own variants of F-15's and F-16's?
Interwar period Soviets had pretty advanced aircraft. Then Stalin went full retard and had all his aircraft engineers killed because he thought that they would sell out to the west...
>Then Stalin went full retard and had all his aircraft engineers killed because he thought that they would sell out to the west
Pretty funny tbh.
-Will never exist
In a way
you forgot best stealth
is right, not existing is truly the best stealth.
I can't believe anyone would take this comedic vatnik fantasy copium seriously.
T-Armata all over again
>I can't believe anyone would take this comedic vatnik fantasy copium seriously.
Mig-41 clearly the best, westshit literally can't compete.
NGAD because it will actually be produced in quantity, and it's avionics and weapons will actually perform at least half as well as advertised. The nip offering will probably use a bunch of US avionics as well and will also be decent. Meanwhile the Mig-41 will be the butt of jokes such as "Well my Husband works for Sukhoi, and all he does is sit on the edge of the bed and tell me how good it's going to be when I get it." like every other Russian wunderwaffe.
As an addendum I do have to admit that like most Soviet/Russian aircraft the Mig-41 is damn aesthetic, even if it won't actually be good.
>better then advertised
Never forget, Lockheed has the alien tech
English Electric Lightning II when?
Oh wait the British manufacturing and engineering base was completely gutted and destroyed decades ago.
Bae are the largest manufacturers in Britain.
It looks like the tempest will outperform the rest honestly.
BAE makes half the US military equipment too they are fuckin huge
the one that gets built in significant numbers.
What is the difference between FA-XX and NGAD. I know one is Carrierborne and the other is ground based, but that's not just that, right?
The difference between the two will be similar to that of the F-15 and F-16. Of all those, my money is on what Japan’s building. America is now building with diversity and equity, so whatever they make, won’t be as good as the shit that was made upto the 2000s.
No one cares where your money is at. The fucking japs aren’t going to make a fighter better than the US
Absolutely not. US has enough intelligent manpower to keep the momentum going for
NGAD is gonna be the new F-15, F/A-XX is gonna be the new F-14
One is USN, and the other is USAF.
O.K., seriously now, that really *does* make a difference. The two services have different doctrines, different priorities, different requirements. There have been times when the same plane could adequately serve both masters, but more often than not, those differences have been too great to overcome. For example, the F-15 was the superior dogfighter, and far less of a hangar queen; but, it wasn't really large enough to carry 6xAIM-54 out to several hundred miles to intercept Backfires coming in with AS-4s or AS-6s; hence, the F-15N lost to the F-14.
In the case of 6th-gens, the USAF needs something with enough legs to operate across the Pacific from very distant bases outside of IRBM ranges. It's probably going to cost as much as a bomber, so they'll be lucky to afford a couple hundred of them to replace the F-22s. To make up for that, they plan to make heavy use of companion drones, which means NGAD may be a 2-seater, making it even larger and heavier.
F/A-XX, on the other hand, is expected to be longer-ranged than bugs, but perhaps not as long-ranged as NGAD; which makes sense, because the CVN can dodge IRBMs in ways that an airbase can't. It's also limited in size and weight by the abilities of catapults to launch it and hangars and elevators to fit it. While companion drones are a possibility, for now the USN has balked at any such thing and is relegating UAVs to refueling duties (retiring the A-6 family and the S-3s was a shortsighted mistake) for now.
There's also the issue of manufacturers. The USAF has gotten pretty comfortable in dealing with LockMart; Grummans have been landing on flattops for 90 years. There's a fair bit of institutional knowledge built up there (as someone pointed out in a recent thread, the Super Hornet was designed by MDD prior to the merger, so corporate Boeing hasn't won a fighter contract in a century, and given their recent performance with the KC-46 and the P-8...).
F-X program doesn't exist anymore
What's the name of the Naval NGAD program?
still F/A-XX, Air Force NGAD is split into "PCA" (mothership/manned sensor boat) and "CCA" (drone wingmen)
Is this four years old? The MIG-41 isn't happening, the F-X and Tempest have become GCAP. Also the speed infomation is retarded.
Whatever the americans build. They might be retarded, but they fly well.
>which one will be the best and why?
The one that will be made in most numbers, war is a numbers game kiddo.
MIG-41 of course
Right next to armata, and vatnik power armor.
>EM EYE GEE
most obvious sign of a paid shill and a script, btw. She wasn’t even allowed to say mig.
>it will even have L-A-Z-E-R-S
They aren't even being subtle
why do they all look like shit? only FCAS and the jap one look alright, the rest is fucking garbage
Where do you keep getting these shitty images?
I have high trust in NGAD, European 6th gen fighter will probably be OK but also coming in very late in relation to NGAD, and after Su-57, I have zero trust in Russian MICs ability to create high-tech military aircraft in any meaningful, actually usable capacity.
The only one that matters is America as they're the only country who have been able to produce 5th Gen fighters in large quantity and already have a 6th Gen bomber coming out. Everyone else is just trying to play catch up to America.
Only the F/A-XX and NGAD will even exist.
The rest are vaporware, including the euro ones.
I don't understand why Europeans aren't working together to make one instead of forming two groups who aren't gonna do shit
The French are impossible to work with and the Germans function through a bureaucratic Kafkaesque nightmare system. That being said GCAP is on track and despite growing pains even FCAS is making progress. I wouldn't count either of them out.
That’s Yurop for you. It could be a real superpower, but because everyone wants to do shit their own way, there’s just so much inefficiency that it can never match USA in military capability. Not saying that federalization wouldn’t have its own massive problems regarding economy etc., but in military matters it sure would be a necessity to become a superpower.
Try working with the fucking French. They'll demand 75% of the work, demand the French language is used in everything then quit halfway through.
euros gonna euro
France and Germany are a nightmare to work with. Plus the Italian and British defense companies are pretty close, considering Leonardo UK and BAE are frequent partners. Also, you know, we got Japan in our corner. What do the frogs have, Spain?
if you have entire EU working on one project you must make sure each one of the members gets something out of it otherwise smaller nations will be essentially fucked over by bigger ones and negotiating that is a nightmare just look at eurofigthers development history extreme mess and then you watch documentary about french rafale where they boast about how much better they are than the rest of EU and then there logistical issues...
as such its genuinely better for them to just do their own shit even if it will be potentially inefficient
That shits all primitive, it can't even change directions suddenly.
The Mig will be the best stealth plane ever because no one will ever see it
The NGAD will probably be good, but the program will probably run over budget and become a political talking point as per usual.
I have high hopes for the Tempest since Bae is making it and the swedes make some cool shit as well.
The Mitsubishi will be okay, but not at the level of the previous two. Still, it will be better than anything the chinese make in more than a decade, which is the only thing that matters to the japs.
The FCAS program will be dysfunctional as fuck due to france and germany disagreeing on things, but if they manage to pull through, it will probably be at least decent
The F/A-XX is a big question mark. It could get scrapped entirely and be replaced by an F35 modification
I really like the shitty render of the Russian plane and how it defies basic aerodynamics. You can tell the design Mach of an aircraft by the wing sweep with a simple equation. It's the reason subsonic aircraft have straight wings like the A-10 and most general aviation aircraft, then you go into airliners designed for Mach ~0.8 getting into the transonic regime with small wing sweep, then you get into fighters and the SR-71 with drastically more wing sweep. It's the reason variable swept wings like the F-14 and MiG-23 existed. The stupid "MiG-41" depiction at best could reach Mach 2 with how far the wings go out. Pic related, an X-15's shockwave at Mach 3.5. The faster it goes, the sharper the shockwave. You want the shockwave to not be touching the wingtips or you run into high drag and low controllability.
I thought the Japanese and Bongs had joined forces for this?
They have. Pretty sure Sweden left too though they could rejoin.
Why did they leave?
My guess is that the Brits made big promises in the early phases when the Franc-German FCAS had given them the cold shoulder and they were desperate for partners. Now they have the Italians and Japanese on board, they don't feel a need to comrpomise for such a small partner.
British got all of the plans and tech to the F-35, which they were never ever supposed to use for anything other than modifying and maintaining their F-35.
Short story, the British filth lied, like they always do. They "gave" the tech to their fellow eurotrash in the a tech sharing program.
Eu Eurotrash have this big dream of being the #1 superpower and they were all going to work on the FCAS to show those dirty Americans what was what (with American tech) with their shit clone of the F-22/ F35.
British and the EU never really loved each other and the British left, so that put them on the outside.
Swede parasites also wanted the tech for their Saab shit, so Swede trash got into the program.
British are useless scum, who do not have an airspace industry worth a shit and they don't have the money nor the brain power to tinker with the tech nor manufacture aircraft, so they went looking for a host to parasite off... and now they have the Japanese.
Seething at Britain this hard only means you must be Russian.
Nope, I hate the British and other Eurotrash.
The worst thing the USA ever did was trying to be friends with Eurotrash.
USA never should have been in WW1, WW2, and NATO should have never been a thing.
Eurotrash should be killing each other, just the way its always been. One eurotrash country allies with another, then back stabs it allying with another to attack the former. That is who they are and what they are.
George Washington was correct: the USA should stay out of alliances and foreign problems.
So you want to live in a world where the US is completely surrounded by communism, all of South America, all of the middle east, all of Africa, all of Asia, all communist. You want a communist world and a significantly weakened US surrounded by its enemies.
>British got all of the plans and tech to the F-35, which they were never ever supposed to use for anything other than modifying and maintaining their F-35.
>Short story, the British filth lied, like they always do. They "gave" the tech to their fellow eurotrash in the a tech sharing program.
SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING
>it's this schizo meltdown again
Every time lmao
so Bongs dust off an old prototype, give it a facelift, and call it a day.
seems about right
They haven't been innovative for decades. They're just living off past glory when their industry is disappearing.
Literally none of them exist. Most people will predict the NGAD simply based on experience and budget. But who knows maybe the euros with JPs will create something? Russia simply can’t due to poor funding and tech base. China is too far behind in tech and manufacturing.
Actually instead of another failed euro project France should man up and try breaking into the 6th gen on their own. Brits could, too. Germans seem too far behind in aerospace though. It would take a serious commitment and a serious budget but if they could find the political will I believe they could do it.
Let me guess, the Mig-41 turns into a hypersonic missile at those speeds
why do Russians huff their own farts?
>why do Russians huff their own farts?
The alternative is breathing the air.
Just to clarify Russia won't be manufacturing a sixth generation fighter for aeons because no money and no friends and China will manufacture one ten years after the west does when they have stolen enough technology.
NGAD or FA-XX since they are more likely to see the light of day. Mig will be vaporware just like the SU57/75/etc. Everyone else hasn't even fielded a proper 5th gen fighter beyond purchasing the F35 from Lockmart.
Royssia is fucking gay. Its about time it got left out on shit like this. You may as well have the Austro Hungarian empire up there and the Incas and Aztecs. The next Russian fighter will be made of polystyrene packaging and a smuggled lawn mower engine
are FCAS, F-X, Tempest and Mig-41 even really being developed?
I always get the impression it's more of a "uhhh we'll make a 6th gen sometime... in the future..."
F-X and Tempest got merged and appear to be proceeding on schedule
NGAD or F/A-XX. The only competition is what'll be after that, and that's less about what's the best but what actually materialises in a timely fashion. My bet is GCAP but I wouldn't count FCAS out yet (yes I'm coping).
Sar where is the J-20?
it wasn't impressive enough
I'll never not post this image when J20 is mentioned
Fuck wrong image
Whenever I see that image it drives me crazy thinking about how they could probably double or close to double the capacity in that bay.
Not an inaccurate depiction of how China treats other nation’s oceans, I’m saving this
Ngad will probably be in mass production by the time any if these others are even into prototyping. There's some rumors saying NGAD is flying now. US will be working on 7th Gen tic-tac ayyshit by the time any of the others enter service.
of course its already flying and the development accelerated
a big war is always the best time to surprise cock fags your enemies
>US will be working on 7th Gen tic-tac ayyshit by the time any of the others enter service.
they probably work on reverse engineering ayy lmao shit for last 60 years but who knows if they crack any of that alien tech
Realistically, I think the NGAD with its loyal wingman will be the transitional step into our first truly unmanned fighter program. Eventually we'll be spamming the AC7 drones
My guess is that the loyal wing-man drones are going to be utterly batshit insane in terms of capabilities to the point that a single NGAD with 4 wingman drones could feasibly take out 2 squads of Raptors
>truly unmanned fighter program
Never. Pilotchads will NOT relinquish the cockpit, not to a FUCKING BOT.
Cavalrychads said the same thing
>There's some rumors saying NGAD is flying now
It would explain why theyre talking about ufos all of sudden
If NGAD is flying, it'll be in early hanger baby stages. While I want to believe, I'm inclined to think that the recent hooplaa around UAPs is intentional obfuscation of a weapons program that is getting hard to keep quiet.
I wouldn't be surprised if an X or Y designated prototype airframe is doing flight testing. Everyone fixates on the plane but NGAD's secret sauce is the full system. The airframe is the easy part really. YF-22 was flying a decade before the production examples entered service anyways so there is a substantial lead time on these things.
Did anything ever come about regarding the aircraft planetlabs accidentally caught at groom lake? I remember the speculation that it could have been the ngad test article.
You know what I think? That thing they covered the plane with is not transparent. It's just has different plane sitting on the tarmac painted on top of it.
Only two, maybe three, of those will reach production (F/A-XX, F-X, NGAD) and the MiG is the wrong planform for it's supposed max air speed.
>MIG-41 goes Mach 4
Lmfao why not say it goes Mach 1,000,000 if you’re going to lie like a fucking retard anyway
Russians have NEVER been realistic when it comes to anything and everything.
the U.S. ones because they have the best logistics/backup
What exactly is the purpose of a mach 4.3 fighter jet?
Why are delta wings back?
delta + BWB is good for stealth
NGAD because it has the best chance of actually existing one day.
Tejas Mk III.
India Superpower 2120!
we're talking about 6th gen, not 8th gen.
>Combat System of Systems
Fucking hell, France/Germany. Just say "multi-role".
It's not multi-role, it's supposed to be a manned platform with unmanned drone support, therefore "system of systems"
EVEN THE FUCKING COPIUM PICTURE IS RETARDED HOLY SHIT. It's like that absolutely fucktarded model aircraft carrier with the runways that lined up into each other or "robot mech super soldier" that rode around on the little ATV at 4mph, it's not even good propaganda.
>EXTERNAL HARD POINTS
>big traditional control surfaces
>those fucking wings
what the fuck.
i hate artist's depictions
kill artists, behead artists, roundhouse kick an artist into a concrete, force an artist to understand their parents' disappointment in them, separate an artist from their family's financial support, inflict ordinary working hours on artists
Either NGAD or FA-XX, because American shit actually works and we're the only country ballin' enough to make more than two prototypes and three production models.
Why is the Mig-41 even included in a stealth NGAD list when it has two big fucking missiles under the wings that completely negates stealth
are 2 us programs really necessary?
Yup, if one turns out to be a flop we’ve got the second, also ones Air Force and ones navy, they get pissy when you make them use the others toys but it’s better than an outright broken one.
we tried unified objectives with the F-35; tremendous success, but both AF & Navy want something more specialized. AF wants to offload actual support & interception to drones to protect pilots while taking advantage of an envelope not partially limited by carrier service, Navy wants something with a fatter load & different focus to guard carriers more efficiently, both are keeping F-35 around as a test bed and to act as sensor buoys for their new big brother(s) in respective forces.
being carrier-capable puts a shitton of restrictions on the airframe that are completely redundant in USAF's context
Mig-41 is just a fictional jet made up by some deviantart artist more than a decade ago, I don't understand how it keeps appearing in these lists?
BAE Tempest. It has the coolest name
It’s a tossup between the Tempest or the NGAD. Only two real performers on the list.
It’s going to be, performance wise, the F-35 to NGAD’s F-22. It won’t be bad for a naval aircraft, but it’s nothing special.
Made by Germany, Spain, and France. So Germany and France. What does Spain provide to this partnership? Who knows? They don’t have money, they don’t have expertise, maybe they provide the approval committee with whores. The two bitchiest countries in the EU are working on a project together with nobody to keep them away from each other’s throats. The only way it could get any worse is if Greece joins and starts asking everybody if they can spare some change.
If the Japs would build it, it would be a pretty decent plane. But instead they’ll do what they always do and slightly modify the American model like they did with the F-2. (Which, unrelatedly, is the only time in human history Asians have said something made by Americans was too small)
Like all Russian aircraft since the USSR collapsed, (though even before it wasn’t much better) it will come out a decade late at twice the cost and half the performance. At most, and single digit number of hand-built models will rust on the tarmac after flying a couple dozen hours.
Aerial performance is not key for 6th gen. Lethality, networking and survivability are
>combat system of systems
is there really any doubt which country will have the best 6th gen and the first 7th gen?
>Made by Germany, Spain, and France. So Germany and France. What does Spain provide to this partnership? Who knows? They don’t have money, they don’t have expertise, maybe they provide the approval committee with whores. The two bitchiest countries in the EU are working on a project together with nobody to keep them away from each other’s throats. The only way it could get any worse is if Greece joins and starts asking everybody if they can spare some change.
NGAD bears the greatest similarity with the f23 so it's obviously the best
>Made by Germany, Spain, and France. So Germany and France. What does Spain provide to this partnership? Who knows? They don’t have money, they don’t have expertise, maybe they provide the approval committee with whores.
Spain has good paella.
All of those foreign made aircraft were made with stolen US technology.
I hate all of our so called "allies". Biggest group of parasites that ever lived.
The USA should get rid of all of our so called allies. Useless filth, especially our so called allies in NATO countries.
Allowing these filth into the JSF F-35 was the largest proliferation of stealth technology... and all of these parasites lied and stole the technology to proliferate it to others.
Nothing lower than Eurotrash... they would stab anyone in the back and sell their own mothers for a few coins... truly worse than garden gnomes.
didn't FCAS and the japanese project merge ages ago?
anyway none of the listed countries aside from America have enough internal market demand to actually fund industries of scale for a project like that. If the entirety of europe, south korea and japan comes together things might be different but as it stands right now all these projects will end up like Zumwalt
>Fcas and the Japanese
No it was the Tempest and the Japanese. It's now called GCAP
russian because it has the coolest color
