5'7" Manlet here, how to CCW

I'm nogunz but going to buy a pistol very soon. My budget is mid to low, preferably low. I weigh about 120 or so, usually wear a size 28 or so pant. How does ccw work for skinny Manlets? I want to carry 9mm, preferably high capacity. Do I have to buy pants specifically for ccw go accommodate a gun?

    >Do I have to buy pants specifically for ccw go accommodate a gun?
depends on how your pants fit and what gun you get. Width is the biggest issue for concealing as a skinny guy, going with a single stack gun can help a lot with that but you do sacrifice capacity. what do you consider a "mid to low" budget?

for those prices, don't bother with a 9mm, walk into a gun store and buy the cheapest saturday night special, they are small enough and sleek enough you can CCW in a normal pocket. ammo will be pricey but I don't suspect you will shoot much.

Do NOT do this, those things are deathtraps.

Glock 19 and buy pants two sizes bigger than you normally wear to accommodate an inside the waistband (IWB) holster. Take a class before you carry in public

Agreed. The Glock 19 is a good carry gun with great aftermarket support. You can buy another Glock if you want something smaller.

My own CCW is a Sig P365 10 rounds.

so the grip is what's going to get you I'd suggest you go no bigger than the average "compact" pistol that said I'm also pretty manlet tier at 5'8 and I can still get away with my glock 17 when wearing a long sleeve or hoodie.
when it comes to pants to me it doesn't make a big difference but I'd suggest a very rigid belt as it will be more comfortable to carry over longer periods

I'm about 5'6", probably a little heavier set than you by your description. I'll let you know what works for me if you want to try that out. But first:
    >My budget is mid to low, preferably low.
What exactly is your upper limit here? I can give you a better recommendation if I know what you can afford.
For me, I usually wear a field jacket, windbreaker, or other coat of some sort. I carry OWB as such, IWB just isn't very comfy and you're liable to print. The most I'll go for IWB is sticking it in the back of my pants if I just need to get out of the car really quick.
    >I want to carry 9mm, preferably high capacity.
My previous EDC gun was a Star Model 30M (I'm now using a Model 10), so about what you're looking for in terms of caliber and capacity. The closest analogue to that gun you're more likely to find is a CZ-75. All steel so it's hefty, but if you're fine with polymer you can cut back on the weight. Still, I carried it just fine, but like I said I'm bulkier.
    >Do I have to buy pants specifically for ccw go accommodate a gun?
You can, depends on what you want. If you're fine with carrying less, I consider the minimum of carry to be a 5 shot .38 snub. Worked for Goetz the 1984 NY Subway shooting, which remains as the most attackers shot in an SD shooting. You can carry something that small in a coat pocket without much issue. Just something to think about, with that kind of setup you don't even need to draw, just shoot through the pocket at them. Just make sure it's not your favorite jacket if you do that. If you post an example of how you usually dress it could help tailor my recommendation for what you should do here.

At your size and weight you'll want something smaller than a Glock 19, the 19 will only stay concealed if you're wearing multiple layers. I suggest the hellcat or m&p 9 shield. P365 size but the 365 is garbaggio

I've got a couple reccomendations based off what I've shot in the past
    Ruger LCP
    Pros-
    >Incredibly light
    >small enough to fit in any pocket
    >Heavy but smooth trigger pull to avoid misfire
    >cheap
    Cons-
    >Significant felt recoil due to it's light weight
    >Fairly shitty fixed sights, which for most self defense shooting will work just fine, but don't expect to be a crackshot with it at first
    >lowish capacity of a semi-underpowered cartidge
    >Hard to get a grip of if you don't have small hands
    S&W M&P Shield
    Pros-
    >Good sights
    >Shoots smoothly for a pocket pistol
    >Slim and small enough to carry IWB without issue, and likely pocket carry too if they aren't too small
    >comes in 9mm and .40
    Cons-
    >Decent bit heavier than the other pistols I'm talking about
    >Physically larger
    >Manual safety
    >Same capacity as the LCP
    S&W model 642
    Pros-
    >2nd lightest gun out of the bunch
    >Prints differently than a semi-auto, generally a lot more concealable
    >Fairly nice DAO trigger pull
    >Decent cartridge
    Cons-
    >Decent bit of recoil (less than the LCP though)
    >More shitty fixed sights
    >5 shot capacity
Sorry none of them are good capacity-wise, but that's how it tends to go when to comes to pocket guns

To answer some questions about budget:
As cheap as possible, as good as possible. Just assume I want the cheapest best thing. ATM I'm not in a position to expend income. I have access to many guns, just none that are mine to carry. The main concern is that I live somewhere that is going to very hot and humid in the summer, so wearing layers to cover up isnt really an option.

I've considered getting a sling bag, does anyone here use one for EDC?

I'm a manlet who weighed 120 for the longest time, finally up to 150 (sadly cause getting old and some fat).

I tried carrying a 1911, and that could only be done with a large jacket tbh.

Another was the LCP in .380. Great for CCW, but sucks to shoot. Fits in your pocket with ease.

My preferred CCW is the MP 380 EZ. Fits great in both my hand and waistband, very easy to cc, and very easy to shoot. I would highly recommend it. Only downside is that it's 8+1.

You can't reliably conceal a high cap 9mm at that size. Carry a single stack .380. I recommend the sig p238

it will break your hand bones
take $100 intro class at local gun range
try different calibers and gun types
for your size a 25 auto is about what you will be able to handle well or beretta makes a nice 32 auto

Drop the "low to mid" budget first. You have to buy a holster (and you'll probably go through a few until you find what works best), you have to buy lots of practice ammunition, range time or club membership, and you really really should take classes. You're looking at a multi-thousand dollar project, so cheaping out on your gun is stupid. For guys like you, you're probably looking at appendix-carrying a micro compact. Sig P365/XL, Glock 43/x/48, Springfield Hellcat etc. Ruger MAX-9 might be good if you really do need to shave money off of the purchase price. If you're still struggling to carry, try to do upper body workouts to increase the size of your chest and shoulders so your shirt droops better over your waist, and avoid slim-fit shirts.

    >How carry
Decent gun belt, pants go up 1 to 2 sizes to accommodate girth. Tops are easy if they're thicker material or 2 layers(ex t shirt plus hoody). Main mess up I see a lot of people make initially is thinking that baggy shirts will conceal better. They actually conceal worse as there's less "drape" around the belt line for them. You want heavy-ish weight cotton or cotton blend t-shirts that are properly but not tightly fitted, pretty much a stereotypical properly fitted cotton T with the hem just a bit below the belt line. Darker colors are preferable to lighter ones. Appendix is by far the easiest position to carry in although all have downsides, be mindful not to ND into yourself. You shouldn't have any problem CCing a double stack compact like this with a decent holster. Wing claws and wedges are great and worth the money. Offset clips are great for reducing girth. I highly recommend the JM custom kydex wing claws holsters with two offset clips, it's my current favorite after about a decade of off and on carry. With a low budget you'd be dumb not to pick up an M&P2.0, on it's merits alone it's better than pretty much anything on the market, they're also cheaper than the competition and Smith just started a $100 rebate on them. You can get a top quality double stack for 350 or less after rebate, you literally can't beat that.
