I think there was a warrant for him and instead of letting the court handle it they decided to do it themselves. That's the gist of it.

Mother called, son has psych problems, wants to off himself.
      >Cops: chance to off him scot free.
Leave cars, shoot at other car immediately, almost hitting each other or the mother.
      >Cops: "he pointed gun at us".
Too bad they missed the mother nor killed the dude or they would have gotten away with it.

Dude, there are places in USA where police academy lasts 4 months.

What the frick can you teach to a person in 4 months and have him proficient in it?
remember the last time you went to a new school? What did you learn in the first 4 months? You learned where the classrooms and toilets are. You got through a couple of 101 courses.

What can you teach to a LEO in 4 months? how to 1) use weapon 2) shoot first and 3) call your superior officer to handle the situation for which you are entirely incompetent. And also 4) how to use the radio in step 3.
And that's about it. You DON'T get proficient LEO's in a couple of months of training. In that time you can teach them how to mag-dump and beat people with sticks.

In many European nations police training takes YEARS. It's an actual school. You get a bachelors degree from it. US LEO's are not what a lot of countries would even call "Police officers". You can't train a police officer in a couple of months.

But you can train a basic soldier in that time. You can train a government thug. That's what US LEO's are: Militia. Thugs. Armed forces used to keep population obedient. But I would not call them "police officers".

(Disclamer: not all of them are just thugs, there are places where police academy is actually fairly decently competent)

To be quite fair it varies.
In Montgomery County, MD you need a 4 year degree. And we never have (or at least, I cannot recall when) we had dumb shit from our blue boys.
Agreed that 120 days NOTHING though.

most states require six months or more, 40 hours a week. Of that, you have two weeks of firearms training. two days in the classroom and the rest on the range. you also learn two weeks of defensive tactics and a week of first aid. the rest of the academy is learning statutes, case law and crime scene work. once you do that, you're still a trainee on your department for at least a year, in a probationary status, and are under direct supervision for three months by a field training officer.
being a cop is by no means as easy as sitting in a classroom for 4 months and being let loose on the street

      Anonymous

4 months full time? That's enough to cover a two year degree easy (which is, if you're moronic, 12 hours a week for 16 months, roughly). That's enough to train soneone from zero to a decently high hour Part 135 jet pilot. Paramedics with drug admin and surgical crike procedures odten have less classroom training time time than that.

And make no mistake, four months would generally be short for most police training, not counting FTO. Ask yourself if there's anything cops need to learn in the academy that takes significantly longer than 600 plus hours to teach. They're not lawyers.

I'm a deadly sniper compared to your average beat cop. Cops themselves have said that you only need to land 40shots on a human sized target at 10yards to qualify and pass their training period.

I know this is actually correct, but man it's so far from how people actually use it. I've never heard someone saying they are firing at point blank while at 250m and it would seem so hilariously out of place.

      Anon's right in a way.
Because Black folk and other subhumans are irrational, instinctively join gangs, traffic drugs and have violent tendencies, cops slowly get more and more military equipment and thus more extreme levels of control.
Shittiest part is that it's super easy for people to argue in favor of it because when a cop tries to do their job in a Black person infested area and they inevitably start getting blasted by some pavement ape going
      >FU DA POLEECE MUFUUGGA I AIN'T GONNA JAIL YA HERRD??? MUFUGGA MUFUGGA
Obviously people hear about this shit so when they're informed that the police are getting more military equipment many justify it in the name of dealing with gang activity. It was always inevitable and we're seeing the results.
And if that wasn't enough, now that people know how much leverage the police have over the general population the police force itself is becoming more attractive to psychopaths who want to become a cop not because they care about society but because they want to exert force over others.

Hecking updooted; everyone knows there's no way that homicides and assaults and muggings and in fact basically every form of violent crime falling by 30-70% could possibly have any bearing on society, especially since if cops don't treat everyone like a pavement ape with a warrant out and a hi-point in his waistband they'll get sued.

That said, frick pigs. Policing draws room temperature IQ high school bullies and marginally competent sniveling political climbers like nursing draws abusive crazy chicks.

Calling the police on someone, has the implication that you want them killed. You're not allowed to do it yourself, so you need some agent with immunity from the law.

    >Does 9mm suck this bad
I think it goes for all pistols. This isn't an unheard of occurrence with handgun shootings, but I can't even find 9 places you could hit with a good 5.56 load that wouldn't permanently frick a major nerve, muscle, blood vessel, bone, or organ.

      Anonymous

sadly 556 turns to dust after touching anything unless you have greentip or m855a1. its shit at barrier penetration

        Anonymous

Any 5.56 short of a varmint load is going to be able to go through a single car door without turning into cotton candy by the time they hit the person inside.

          Anonymous

yeah but it wont be nearly as lethal. thats why the mil likes to have steel core. it's not just for body armor, it's to keep the round mostly intact as it goes through something. 7.62x39 and 308 do much better through vehicles than 556. anything is better than 9mm, but 556 isnt that great for this task

            Anonymous

            >it's to keep the round mostly intact as it goes through something
That's more like for wood and minerals. Rifle rounds excel at breaking through thin metal and plastics.

              Anonymous

556 is so fast and tiny that it does a shittier job penning drywall than 9mm. it explodes on contact with anything.
              > Rifle rounds excel at breaking through thin metal and plastics
              very broad statement to make.

                Anonymous

                >it does a shittier job penning drywall than 9mm
That's what I'm talking about with the case for steel core. The longer a bullet is in the process of passing through an object, the more it destabilizes. The effect of destabilization on 5.56 is more pronounced than handgun rounds, so it tumbles and shatters after a couple walls in drywall tests.

The key here is that it has to pass through multiple layers to begin tumbling and therefore fragmenting. A single piece of metal won't fragment ANY bullet as long as it penetrates. I'd be surprised if the paper-thin steel in a car door even causes enough tumbling to hit sideways on the inner panel.

LE has a 30% hit rate for line of duty shootings. I worked for a 350 man PD and after we switched to .40, 20% of the dept was on the remedial shooter list. And that’s just for quals not a life and death adrenaline dump.

    >posts a situation where only 19% of the rounds fired even hit the person
    >the vitals that will actually kill you in a reasonable amount of time are only in a relatively small area of a person, and it would be entirely believable that no rounds landed in that area given that accuracy
    >hurr is 9mm to blame?
