none because they're all kinda shitty even though it's good they're breaking from russian orbit. but more "strategic cooperation" and money/weapons could certainly be on the table.

China won't leave because there's 0 reason for them to do so (unless there are obligations al a NATO's 2% GDP policy I'm unaware of because i'm a moron talking out of my ass lmao get fricked nerd), nevermind so long as they remain it may prove beneficial in some capacity - to exert influence or do to so easier or to a better extent. Then again, the smaller and lesser nations have much more to gain from remaining in the alliance.

you know what, my guess is that the alliance dissolves and all remaining members leave simultaneously before a unipolar unification of our species under the United State's sphere of influence tbh baka senpai

      I blame CERN.

Maybe Armenia will since they're leaving CSTO. Might be a good excuse to finally deal with the Turkic problem.

One, Turkey always starts shit and causes internal troubles. Two, you don't really need to trade it, just tell the Turks to frick off and stop putting their Roachy mudslime desires before the rest of us. If they have a problem and they decide they're going to declare war on a NATO ally state, you can invade and give the land back to the Greeks who should rightfully own it anyways (unless you can find the Hittites). Return Byzantium and Asia Minor to its rightful place from before it was taken by the perfidious Ottoman and all. In return we should give the Turks China instead as part of incoming Chinese reparations for the ongoing Uigur genocide. I say that's a fair trade for everyone except China, but that's fine because frick China anyways.

It already happened Anon. There were 20,000 Han Chinese living in the Russian Far East in 2000. By 2014 it was 800,000 and Russia asked them to start publishing figures. The entire region has like 7 million Russian citizens, and the population is declining hard. Chinese probably are like 20% by now.

China gets to set the price of the shit it takes from Russia, especially now that they are so isolated. Also note that China isn't selling Russia dick for their war despite it supposedly being a partnership. A weaker Russia and avoiding spats with the US is more important for China and so the relationship tips all the way to what China wants.

Speaking of cartoons, if anyone wants a fascinating look into history, they can see this Armenian Anime in the last year of the Soviet Union (1991), where they effectively spit on the Union's grave as its still dying. Shame one of the most anti-Communist SSRs ended up on Russia's side, but here they blame Russia and accuse them of siding with the Azeris.

basically just documenting what was happening at the time, everyone lying out of their asses while the house burns down, even if I think people are unfair to Gorbachev (he undid the house of cards because he genuinely felt it could be fixed).

Of course since history rhymes the same bullshit is happening again.

I hope Armenia is able to kick them off and find some sponsor in the west to prevent the Turks' from enacting their genocidal urges on them. Maybe we could use them as a staging point for aid to the Georgians.

            Anonymous

This tbh. Gorby gets voted out of office in favor of Yeltsin because he never intended to burn the whole thing down. He was a good Soviet who wanted the project to work. He just didn't realize how fricked it had gotten, and so in attempting to reform it, everyone broke for the exits once the door got unlocked.

            Anonymous

You dumb monke motherfricker. How is the aid going to get to Armenia to get to Georgia exactly? Armenia borders Turkey and Iran. You'd need to be allied with either Iran or Turkey to get to Armenia. Georgia already borders Turkey.

It's interesting how Georgia has no conflict with either Turkey, Azerbaijan or Iran, only Russia. After the Cold War ended, Armenia could have had cordial relations with all five but instead they wanted to ape out in the name of growing their empire because of delusions of grandeur.

Armenia *chose* to invade Azerbaijan's territory, well outside of Nagarno-Karabakh. Armenia *chose* to continue warring with multiple generations of Azerbaijan's leaders.
Do you know what Iran and Syria were in the 70s and 80s? They were bitter enemies. Then after the Cold War ended, Syria improved relations with Iran in the 90s. In 2000 when Bashar succeeded his father Hafez al-Assad, Syria became Iran's ally.

Armenia put itself in its own position by being the South Caucasus' equivalent of the Serbroaches and Donbabweans. That's why nobody in Eastern Europe gives a frick about them because they're proxies for the Russian Empire. On top of that, Armenian diaspora and nationalists have always actively opposed peace talks with their neighbors. They literally want Armenia to be isolated for some sort of sick ego trip.

Armenia had the military edge over Azerbaijan in the 90s, 2000s, and first half of the 2010s, and annexed over 1/5 of Azerbaijan for 3 decades. Not just tiny Nagarno-Karabakh but the regions surrounding it all the way to the Iran and Armenia borders.
Azerbaijan had no weapons factories under the Soviets and it showed when the USSR collapsed and Armenia decided to go on an expansionist chimpout, not even caring about perception or consequence because they knew they had a huge diaspora across the West backing them. Armenia is now weak due to self-isolation, while over-relying on the massive PR and lobbying effort of Armenian diaspora.

In 1990 Yeltsin was grabbed by a few random people and thrown into the river, which pretty much symbolised how much of a joke Soviet Law enforcement had become. Everything in the short symbolises or depicts an actual event, whether its Chernobyl or the Anti-Armenian pogroms.

Nothing of what russia creates works. CSTO was taunted as a NATO alternative. BRICS was supposed to be a better version of G7.
Why do they always fail at everything they do? Can't they get one thing right for a change?

      Anonymous

All of their organizations fail because they don't have any actual commonality, they're just set up as mirror opposites of the real organizations you mention. NATO has a common cause: defense against Russian aggression, which is real and obvious to everyone involved. What is the point of the CSTO? Who is going to invade Kazakhstan other than Russia anyway?

NATO Article 5 doesn't trigger when a NATO member STARTS a war, it only triggers when someone else starts the war against the NATO member.

And Russia is pretending that this isn't even a war. That's two legalistic reasons to refuse to help.

Not to mention reason number three, which is that no one else wants to get destroyed, and reason 4, Russia isn't going to be of any military use after this war anyway.

It’s pure projection. They never would go to war to support Armenia and they assumed NATO wouldn’t protect Latvia because they thought NATO was just like CSTO.
Absolutely pathetic. Say goodbye to budget Warsaw pack. All the members know that it has zero power.
Imagine if Poland was invaded and NATO did nothing. It would be the end of NATO. This is the death of CSTO.

          Eh, that's wildly misunderstanding things.
The phrase "We consider violence unacceptable" is a condemnation of Azerbaijan in the original.
I don't recall the second part about "exclusively political and diplomatic methods and agreements" from the original text, but I may be wrong.
And most importantly "It is likely that the country will start the exit process". That's conjecture / assumption.
Not saying Armenia wont leave or anything, just this source is pretty shoddy.

      >The Short Victorious War is a science fiction novel by American writer David Weber, first published in 1994. It is the third book in the Honor Harrington series.

      >Its title comes from a quotation by Vyacheslav von Plehve in reference to the Russo-Japanese War: "What this country needs is a short, victorious war to stem the tide of revolution." That quotation is one of the novel's two epigraphs; the other is a quotation from Robert Wilson Lynd: "The belief in the possibility of a short decisive war appears to be one of the most ancient and dangerous of human illusions."

"The families who rule the People's Republic of Haven are in trouble. The treasury's empty, the Proles are restless, and civil war is imminent.

But the ruling class knows what they need to keep in power: another short, victorious war to unite the people and fill the treasury once more. It's a card they've played often in the last half-century, always successfully, and all that stands in their way is the Star Kingdom of Manticore and its threadbare allies. Enemies who in the past have always backed down.

Only this time the peeps face something different. This time they're up against Captain Honor Harrington and a Royal Manticoran Navy that's prepared to give them a war that's far from short... and anything but victorious"

The Western European nations had been busy genetically modifying diseases such as anthrax, botulism, bubonic plague, meningitis, typhus, cholera, and the Ebola virus. Having integrated "kill switches" and stockpiled disease-specific vaccines, they believed themselves to be safe and employed the weaponized diseases agains the Asians. Initially, they had almost exactly the desired effect, but after three T-years the pathogens started spreading and mutating among the civilian population, and eventually found their way back to Europe, largely immune to the vaccines their creators expected to protect them.

Who will stop the US now? Everyone else is either too crippled or too incompetent to be somewhat of a competition to the US. The EU is soft and cucked. China is too preoccupied with their own internal problems. Russia is Russia. The checks and balances in the US politics only really apply to domestic policies. No one really cares what the presidents do in foreign countries. Should we encourage terrorism again? Another 9/11? Against Washington D.C.?

Only real chance is China if they're able to coax /force other major Asian nations to align with them. They'll still be vulnerable due to energy imports for it'll boil down to the USN vs China and friends in the Indian Ocean

Major Asian countries besides China are some of the US' greatest allies, and the small shitholes will not join China in a war. They play both sides precisely because they do not want to commit and be dragged into war. Also consider the fact that all Asians hate each other and, most importantly, hate China. The one thing they have in common is hating China.

The Russians decided to faceplant so hard that any hopes of challenging NATO in Europe is 100% dead in the water. China really has no global aspirations at the moment. India... well, it has a long way to go before most people would even consider it as a sorta fun vacation destination as opposed to going to Cancun or Japan or a Greek island.

The others? They all decided to hitch a ride on the America wagon. And that was the correct decision for many. While we drive the wagon we at least periodically look back at the riders and ask for song requests and even take destination requests. And trust me, that's a far better deal than anyone under the Soviets got.

Well it's more like, the US is driving when the complaining and from the back seat gets too much they'll not just turn around and punch someone in the face, potentially running the entire thing off the road just to assert themselves. That's kinda important too.

We might put pressure on our allies at times but they are for the most part able to do what the frick the want even if it pisses us off, and NATO requires every member to be ok with doing something before we do it, even if the US really wants to do it, with everyone having equal say even if the US is giving the most in terms of military power.
Because, you know, it's an actual alliance.

For some reason Armenians and their supporters think that Armenia can fire into Azerbaijani territory, but that Azerbaijan can't fire back into Armenia.

Not only has that finally changed 3 decades later, but it would be smart for Azerbaijan to take chunks of territory not too far from the Iranian border to hold as a bargaining chip. Never fight a war where the terms are solely dictated by one side and the other is merely reacting to it. You need to proactively set terms and new frames of reference.

Ideal scenario would be for Azerbaijan to aim cut off Armenia from Iran's border. Make that the new permanent battleground instead of western Azerbaijan like it's been the past 3 decades. Once Armenia yields, then make that region a permanent safezone manned by peacekeepers from all 4 relevant states.

In a similar vein, Ukraine would be smart to start flying kamikaze drones into parts of Transnistria and blow up some Russian camps because that place will always be a ticking time bomb otherwise. That's what the whole Snake Island and Odesa ordeal was about from Russia's perspective. Hit Crimea, Transnistria and even the Northwest Caucasus, and you'll see Russia trying to cop pleas.

        >pissing off Iran?
You mean like pissing off Russia?.. Iran will stay out of it because they want Turkey and Israel to stay out of it. Iran and Turkey are chess players, they know how to play the game. Iran wouldn't want to wage a war north when its main enemies are in the south.

Iran will be angry at Azerbaijan for sure but they'll know that it's just to bargain with Armenia to get them to stop occupying or firing at Azerbaijan. I don't know what AZ's actual plans are, but that's what I would recommend is to make the Southern Armenia region the "new normal" battleground. Then once there's multi-sided negotiations, all relevant parties man the region together.

This then ensures Armenians back off from western Azerbaijan. It's a warning to their diaspora as well, who for years have pushed Armenia not to ever have peace talks with its neighbors and are the main driver behind Armenia becoming self-isolated in the region all for some sick ego trip of theirs.

I hope Armenia is able to kick them off and find some sponsor in the west to prevent the Turks' from enacting their genocidal urges on them. Maybe we could use them as a staging point for aid to the Georgians.

This tbh. Gorby gets voted out of office in favor of Yeltsin because he never intended to burn the whole thing down. He was a good Soviet who wanted the project to work. It's main purpose is to fight against INNER enemies, not outer

That's the difference between collective security and collective defence.
UN, CSTO - collective security. If one member chimps out, all others form a coalition against it.
NATO - collective defence. attack on one member is attack on all. doesn't work, however, if the aggressor comes from within.

Anon you might have missed the memo but the last time UN was in any way even slightly influential was in the 90s. It's a completely dead organization without any real power.

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me here or not. Regardless, if you look it up, you'll find Russia still holds a permanent seat on the UN security council, as well as the UN human rights council. China is also on these councils, with a permanent seat. This matters because you've seen the orks at play here. Do you think Russia or China care about human rights or global security when they're busy shoving people into concentration camps and raping civilians? So far, I've only seen a vote to suspend them from the human rights council, but not any others. And note the word used is suspend, not remove. They're essentially just putting them in time out and will put them right back on this council indefinitely.
The UN is an undemocratic institution that's the result of FDR's NWO communist simping homosexualry. It ought to be abolished, all we need is NATO and NATO alone to enforce freedom and human rights. Hopefully you see what I mean and agree with me on this matter.

You're a leftist/vatnik/chink and I don't give a shit what you think. Come and take them if you're so brave.

Thats the chamber moron show the barrel moron.

What part of the barrel? I'm going to assume you just mean looking down to see the rifling. My lighting is shit so you better appreciate this, this was fricking hard to set up because I don't have a good flashlight on hand. It was too dark to see shit without this little keychain light in the ejection port, used the tape from my timestamp to tape the button down. Couldn't find a good way to incorporate the stamp on that note because there was really nowhere to put it, especially with both hands occupied.

FDR was closer to facism than to communism. He built his imago after Mussolini and took many programs from him.

He was highly sympathetic to commies. Sold them war materiel, gave them half of Europe postwar, and curiously enough the Japanese Communist Party that had been banned in the mid-1920s was suddenly legalized in 1945 during the Allied occupation of Japan. And of course, he gave them nuclear weapons by allowing a Russian spy to copy virtually all data gathered from the Manhattan Project and bring it back to Moscow scot-free. He was a traitorous tyrant in any case.

                >What's with the leftist mentality of letting Russia and China dictate global politics while pretending they care about freedom?
that is a good question, for i also despise leftist mentality.

They're worse as they try to dictate policy based on Russian and Chinese whims. The League failed it's purpose and so does the UN.

Anon you might have missed the memo but the last time UN was in any way even slightly influential was in the 90s. It's a completely dead organization without any real power.

Vatnigs don't deserve a chance to change that.

I am sympathetic to your lighting struggles as you can see. Cool AK bro, I also want one but car repairs are eating all my fricking money. New battery, new alternator, oil leaks. Cost me well over a grand which I would have used for a WASR or more milsurp.

      >Guys, what's the military advantage of attacking someone in your own alliance?

Depending on the terms of the alliance, they won't be able to call upon the alliance to defend themselves. It was actually a standard procedure at various points in history. That's commonly how vassal states expanded.

      You fricked up the meme.

Holy shit, Russia, could this get any more embarassing? there are over a million Armenians in Russia. I bet you could equip thousands of volunteers with the bare minimum and send them to Armenia as a show of force. at least a little force. to signal the roaches that you haven't given up completely.

Lmao, armenians are one of the wealthiest ethnicities in russia, they can easily buy a whole buryat village to be sent instead of them.
Problem is, buryats are nowhere to be found these days.
