>Germany, Denmark and Norway paid Slovakia 92 million € to produce additional 16 Zuzana-2 howitzers for Ukraine
>So far Slovakia has sent 4 and 4 are currently being built
24 SPHs with 43 km range and firerate of 4-5 shots per minute and MRSI capabilty will definitely help Ukrainian efforts.
>€92 million for 16 upgraded Slavshit howitzers
WTF that is like 6 million each, what are these things made of? You can get old M109s for under a million a piece
From what I know they seem to be quite good, albeit difficult to use for untrained soldiers.
You need to understand that the cost of manufacturing for them is quite low.
>What is siphoning money?
>produce additional
Probably the cost of restarting production lines.
The word they are looking for is refurbish its foreigners and translation failure
Zuzana 2 is upgraded Zuzana-2000 which in turn is upgraded Zuzana 1 which is upgraded DANA.
It went from 152 to 155 (and range from 20 to 40 km) as the poster above mentioned and they are currently being assembled.
Starting from scratch is expensive.
>old M109s
how much is new M109A6?
because that's closer comparison in capabilities
>Slavshit
The Zuzana is a NATO Standard 155mm Howitzer.
>You can get old M109s for under a million a piece
>Effective firing range M109A1–A4:
18.1 km (11.2 mi) (M107, HE)
23.5 km (14.6 mi) (M549A1, RAP/HE)
Black person don't talk shit about Zuzi, they are pretty good.
I love how Ukraine will end up the custodian of the best Slavshit has to offer, and that actually reflects their industry. They will probably just keep evolving the best platforms, making them as 'nato-y' as possible
These were bought because Ukraine already have the model in their arsenal. Should be possible to send straight to the front upon delivery.
>Russians already threatening Slovakia with Klibrs, bombing Bratislava and sabotage
seething
>*KWABing intensifiés*
unlike m109 they are made of something priceless. russian seething
6mill is a bargain
What site is this? Please do tell, I want to have a good laugh.

Thank you anon. I can already tell that it's gonna be a great time, by the 2004 site design and the .su domain.
learning russian just to read the butthurt and Strelkov's blog was the best decision in my life
>heh, we could punish you but as a gesture of good will, we wouldn't, so please stop before it's too late
hahahahah
"Slovakia depends on Russia in many ways"
literally how?
God it's sad how little these morons realize how irrelevant Russia actually is on a global scale.
Damn they mad
>bratushki
Russians REALLY think their padlocked vassals were friends, don't they?
Feels good to be Gayropean
>except for Serbs
Somebody should tell him about all the planefulls of weapons that end up in Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Ukrainian planes with Serbian crews.
>16 more things to sell to the black market
China and north kimchi land thank denmark for more engineering samples
Any real proof this has ever happened? I remember Russians claimed that every western airport will be spawncamped with Javelins and Stingers in days.
>The US doesn't really know.
What do these morons think a US military attaché's and Defense Attaché Office's job is?
>Guardian
>CNN
what's the other 2 rags?
Have you already found these disappeared winter uniforms, Dima?
ae -1500000 support_equipment_1
>missing winter uniforms
At least they aren't Europeans, those guys are going to be freezing this winter haha. Right comrads?
I've said it before, but this looks to me like they're just buying howitzers from all around europe as fast as they're being produced. German PZH (100 pieces), polish Krab (56 pieces), now the slovakian ones.
Yes, because artillery is the centerpiece of conventional warfare. Also, they get them for free, no need to be picky.
Dana / Zuzana has interesting looking autoloader.
Why do they use cartridges instead of powder charges?
That's the older 152 mm Dana. Here you can see new 155 mm Zuzana.
Possibly in order to reduce the chance of cook off, as the metal is harder to break through and shields the propellant from ignition sources to an extent.
I recall hearing someone say the Chinese went back to metal cased propellant charges for their tanks in an attempt to reduce the chances of turret tossing in their T-72 derived designs.
That's terrible and slow but it looks really cool.
The claim is 4-5 shots per minute, which is fine I guess.
I'm just used to 8-10 shots in a minute from other systems.
Is there any advantage to doing it all in 2 parts?
It is the old version. Newer (and faster) here
Which one are they sending to Ukraine?
Both.
Czechs sent their surplus DANAs for free, Slovakia sends 8 out of factory Zuzanas (paid by Ukraine) and then 16 more (paid by Germany, Denmark and Norway).
>
How fast is it?
From what I heard they focused on modularity, you can rotate the conveyor and choose a charge and shell you prefer for a given task.
Designed by HR Giger
Giger was a true chad
>are they good?
No.
But they're available.
I did expect them to be a bit better than that though.
