14 Leopards already inna Ukraine

In addition, Canada will provide 8 tanks, Norway - 8, Spain - 6 (and likely 4 more, talks in progress).
These will be accompanied by 7 recovery vehicles on Leo2 chassis.
The 36 tanks strong battalion of Leo 2A4 for Ukraine is ready. And it's worth noting, that according to original agreement, Poland was responsible for organizing a 31 tanks strong Leo2A4 battalion.

Exceeding the expectations, as usual.

Moreover, Poland has granted allies open access to its specialized Leo training facility in Świętoszów, where international team of trainers prepared Ukrainian crews. Poland has also offered to create a maintenance hub for Ukie Leo's at its plant at Bumar-Łąbędy (pic related). It also offered to take upon itself to jump start manufacturing parts for 2A4 variant (stopped being produced 20 years ago). Realization depends on results of negotiations with Berlin.

It's also worth remembering, that the 14 Leo2 are but a fraction of total number of tanks delivered by Poland to its embattled eastern ally. 250 T72M1/M1R's and PT-91's were delivered almost a year ago, and another 60 of heavily modernized models are to be handed to
this month. The scale of Polish assistance is unprecedented. It's training, logistics, fuel and maintenance - but above all heavy weaponry. In fact, with all the equipment pledged to be delivered this month, we're getting close to a number of 1000(one thousand) armored vehicles. The importance of the immediate and quantitative aspect of Polish deliveries can only be grasped, if understood within the specific circumstances of this war - huge territory, long frontline and mass character of Ukrainian resistance coupled with lack of weaponry.

The German offer was clearly unreasonable (exclusive German use of a military-industrial site already in use at full capacity in support of the war) and calculated for being refused. The only bad thing the Poles did was taking the German offer in good faith and proposing alternative arrangements, because that gave the Germans extra ammo in trying to portray the Poles as greedy.

And yet, that base was set up in Slovakia without any trouble. Really makes you think.

                That's not true though.
The issue was Poland trying to force Germans to let their companies with no experience with the machines handle them for a lot of money and gain trade secrets in the process. The polish government didn't even deny it either and just tried to say that their demands were standard procedure and then tried to pretend Germany refused because the location wasn't good enough.
Meanwhile the location was moved all the fucking way to Slovakia in response.
                Why do poles always lie?

Also poles have absolutely 0 justification to cry about German politicians running to the media after they've leaked diplomatic talks again and again before, lied to press with the Rimgtausch to make Germany look bad and acted like bad faith cunts throughout.
Most importantly, German politicians didn't just run to the media, the way it came one was because Trittin had an interview about something else and something related to it was mentioning in a single comment on the side, the reporter picked up on it and asked about that instead and whether you like it or not, contrary to polish PiSsheads he actually tried to stay relatively nice about it, he just didn't lie about your disgusting behavior.

        >Poland has also offered to create a maintenance hub for Ukie Leo's at its plant at Bumar-Łąbędy
let me guess: PISsers will be so gullible they will exclude german leopards from that offer like they did with the pzh2000

Germany, under pressure from stories about maintenance issues with the PzH2000, demanded (via diplomatic channels) exclusive use of a particular Polish base, which was already in use supporting Ukrainian logistics. The Poles replied (again, via diplomatic channels) that the base is already in use and offered alternative sites and accommodations. Then Germany ran to the media screaming that the terrible Poles were blocking setting up a vital maintenance hub.

The whole story was never anything more than a media spectacle of Germans trying to pass the buck for maintenance issues.

          Anonymous

And yet, that base was set up in Slovakia without any trouble. Really makes you think.

          Anonymous

The German offer was clearly unreasonable (exclusive German use of a military-industrial site already in use at full capacity in support of the war) and calculated for being refused. The only bad thing the Poles did was taking the German offer in good faith and proposing alternative arrangements, because that gave the Germans extra ammo in trying to portray the Poles as greedy.

          [...]
It's a different base with different arrangements.

          >So instead of saying 'Sorry basie is full, gotta go somewhere else'
No, that is precisely what they said. Germans are the ones who then broke off talks and ran to the media.

The point is they were the ones who made a media scandal out of it. Prior to that it was all through diplomatic channels, i.e. not public. Your bleating about the horrible PiS shitflinging Germany is just them daring to reply to unprovoked German accusations.

You have it the other way around. PiS started screeching as a response to Germans going to the media, and rightfully so. From what we've seen the Poles were content to keep talks in confidence until the Germans made them public.

Germany made a completely unreasonable demand, Poland refused and gave their own proposals in response, and then Germany broke off negotiations and "completely accidentally" as you claim it shared it with the media as Poland being bad. How is Poland the bad faith actor in this?

              >Germany made a completely unreasonable demand,
Poland just pretends that's the case, the German government has already said that's bullshit and that the location wasnt critical but Polish other demands were, they've proven it as well by literally moving countries.
The issue was Poland trying to force Germany to let polish engineers with no experience with the machines handle maintenance so they could get a ton of money and trade secrets out of the maintenance contract.
That's not just greedy but downright evil because it would ensure that the maintenance is fucked because no polish engineer knows how to service the vehicles properly.
              >Germany broke off negotiations
Poland had already delayed it for weeks with it's insane demands, it was set up in like a week in Slovakia instead. Germany gained nothing out of delaying it, PiS did and has proven repeatedly they're willing to fuck over ukraine to fuck with Germany.
Face it, the politicians you suck offered cunts.
              >and "completely accidentally" as you claim it shared it
Yes, because it's the first time that happened compared to all the gucking time in poland because Germany, contrary to Poland, tried to stay professional on the diplomatic stage even when poland kept leaking shit and lying about it. Also if you read the actual interview it basically came up on the side, the interviewer tried to ask more, Trittin made a short comment and then got back on topic and that comment didn't even reveal too much, it just didn't lie.
Then poles sperged out about, we got a proper statement, then also one from Poland where the polish government admitted it was true but tried to pretend that actually the location (lol) was the real issue and that their other demands are completely normal and Germany should've just agreed.
              >How is Poland the bad faith actor
              See above.

Critical to them in the negotiations you low IQ moron, learn English.
Germany broke off the negotiations not because of the location as the Polish government tried to claim but due to the Polish government trying to force Germany to hire Polish civilian contractors to handle their vehicles for a lot of money and the relevant trade secrets instead of just letting Bundeswehr personell with decades of experience with them do it despite those civilian polish engineers having exactly 0 experience with German howitzers.
THAT was the critical point in the negotiation and the polish government admitted to demanding that insane shit. The location clearly wasn't critical not just because the German government said so but because it proved it by moving all the way to fucking slovakia which is objectively worse.

Seriously the whole Polish proposal was insanely stupid and accepting it would've ensured that no Germab equipment sent to ukraine would come back from maintenance without a significant and completely unnecessary delay which particularly the gepards probably can't fucking effort because they're pretty unique in their capabilities in Ukraine and necessary to shield any mobile offensive from missile and drone attacks since I don't think their Tunguska's ever got something like the Quatar upgrade.

    What makes a leopard 2A4 better than a T-72B3?
Reverse speed and gun depression? Better FCS and stabiliser?
They should be fairly similar in terms of optics, and the T-72 likely actually has better Armor.
Gun performance will depend on the rounds used, but even with the length limitations they should be comparable to tungsten sabot out of the L/44.

Dont feel like digging for the links, but iirc the tank number of the one in the back was 526 or something, and according to the leaked turkish list it hit an IED/mine and was not hit by an ATGM.

They are not fucking around and throwing them in they are building a complete high standard tank regiment, you can tell by the recovery vehicles. Russia is fucked. Russia has already lost the war why the fuck don't they just surrender/leave before the Ukrainians take Moscow and Belgorod in reparations because now they absolutely can and the only way to stop them would be for Russia to nuke its own cities and people (just like now, fallout goes east if they hit Ukraine)

Slovakia’s Defense Minister has stated that Poland has agreed to a joint Polish-Slovak transfer of MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. Poland has 29 jets while Slovakia has 11. The defense minister says it’s time for the Slovak gov. to make the decision.

      >trade secrets for maintenance?
For in-depth maintenance you need to know pretty much everything about a vehicle, depending on the task it actually requires more knowledge than producing the parts. Any retard can change a wheel, but that's the kind of stuff you can do in the field.

sent them yes - but question is where - last info i found is that tanks were sent to Poland where Ukrainians are trained to use them

News from 2 days ago — Canadian soldiers are on in Poland training their Ukrainian counterparts on how to use the Leopard tanks donated by the West.

The polish economy has got to be raking in about $100 billion in cash from around the world for all this activity. Plus various other friendly donations of equipment and services. Damned smart Poland, stepping up first and stepping up fast. They're basically going to get rid of almost everything obsolete or headed toward obsolescence, completely up grade to very modern systems, and get several factories to build and refurbish out of it. Plus upgraded training facilities that will now become central & critical to all of the EU and NATO, staffed by some of the top experts the West has to offer. Effectively, military academies for their own soldiers AND various allied countries.

Ukraine will become the new Poland in the coming decades, a military and industrial powerhouse that will anchor the Baltics down through Romania & Bulgaria and Greece.

      Anonymous

      Consider the alternative possibility:
The maintenance hubs set up specifically for the Ukraine war are temporary and the (very expensive) support will be withdrawn once the war is over, they're mostly just training grunts in the basics and the facilities have little to nothing in common with military academies, specialist training is done in other allied nations for the most part and other nations stationing NATO troops in Poland (hopefully in greater numbers) doesn't really have the implications you hope it has.

Seeing this as a nice temporary boost to their economy (which hopefully makes up for the gas/oil issues Russian fuckery brought about) is probably an a lot more realistic view on this than thinking they can create an economic miracle out of nothing.

I mean, they're pretty much the only place you can reliably ship lots of supplies through to Ukraine. I imagine that has to come with a fat paycheck.

Poland historically always wanted a unified block of eastern European countries to stand up to Russia and the German states, they got close to this during the heydays of the Polish Commonwealth but as Muscovy kept expanding and got increasingly stronger, they ended up losing Ukraine to it, which basically doomed the commonwealth as Russia became too strong. Poland tried rectifying this again during the 1920s through Prometheism and the intermarium project, but revitalised european nationalism across the continent and a rapidly reconstituted Soviet russia put an end to this project. Now finally Poland has the chance to right these historical mistakes, end Russia as a overpowering player in eastern Europe and bring back stability to the Region, such as during the days of the Golden era of the Commonwealth, where Wallachia was as rich as France on a per capita basis and Poland as rich as most of the German princely states. This is achievable with eastern europe joining the rest of europe if Russia can be put inside its box and a zone of stability can be returned.

it's a depopulating shithole full of weird as fuck people. Even Erfurt was like a worse, dirtier polish city despite germany being way richer. One of the ~20k towns that had an immigrant centre (sulh? meiningen? either of those) made me feel less safe than when I was in a literal brazilian favela, browns were running completely unchecked, although admittedly that was the height of the immigrant crisis so things probably changed.
Thuringian forest and the view from one of the salt mountains (Kaliberg) were the only good things I remember from there and I've been there for about 3 weeks.
Thuringia and Saarland need to go.
