Unironically, this is better than what options Russia has for replacements.

Ukrainians will receive training before heading back home to slaughter vatnicks, meanwhile Russia doesn't even have NCOs to train their bottom of the barrel populace they throw into the front line.

Russia is gonna rot on the battlefield in the long run, however much longer they think they can keep this war going.

If Russia decide to freak out, they could fire missiles at Poland or the Baltics and claim they only hit Ukrainian training camps. Incredibly risky because of article 5 but they theoretically could risk it and try to hide behind nook escalation. They can't do that to Britain because it's too far and would almost certainly get shot down, and would miss if it didn't.

The British military is massively superior to Poland or the Baltics, especially when it comes to training and doctrine.

That might be true but we are closer and have training fields more in common with the geography of Ukraine so the ukie tankers are trained here.

Wouldn’t they do their basic training in Ukraine then get ferried away to England for their combat training? Not like its anymore than a days flight, hell you can fly from Kiev to London in a little over three hours.

Unironically could be a safety thing, after all Poland and the Baltics are right there if Russia says frick it and throws the mother of all chimpouts.

It *is* a minor inconvenience, but Americans will b***h very loudly about ANY inconvenience at all, which in turn tends to make it look like they're actually being hurt.
It is a very annoying trait.

Our b***hing is done to give politicians a very clear message that they better change shit fast if they want to keep their jobs. Just look how quickly gas went from $5 to below $4.40, or how much people burned entire cities in 2020 fueled by the lockdowns.

I wonder what Britain can teach Ukraine in terms of military action? When did the British army conduct combat operations at least as part of a battalion or more? Led an offensive with artillery training? How many planes have British air defenses shot down in recent history? How many snipers have they trained? The fighters of the Ukrainian army have much more extensive combat experience, and their commanders have experience of operations conducted by the British army last time during the Second World War. In my opinion, it is not Britain that should teach Ukraine, but vice versa. The Ukrainian military should train NATO soldiers how to fight.

The British military-industrial complex is backward and creates ugly and useless weapons. NLAW proved useless against Russian tanks. British armored cars look like orcish wagons. And in the British BMP there is not even a belt feed of shells! Britain has not learned how to tape feed shells!

I wonder if this is a reciprocal program where they pass on experience to each other. Also, this has the benefit of improving Ukrainian relationships with the UK, giving them a powerful ally in the region. Lastly, I suspect they're trying to wring out any ineffective Soviet military doctrines still being used by the Ukies.

This is all just speculation, of course.

Your numbers mean nothing, as the sanctions situation has shown. The first economies of the world are suffering, and Russia is winning the economic war. So these numbers of yours are just nonsense. How much of Britain's GDP has real products (like China or Germany), and how many lies, such as services?

                >Can you elaborate on this point? What makes "services" a "lie"?

I mean, as several months of 2022 have shown, GDP measurements show incorrect data. You can measure GDP by the number of services produced. And then Western countries will have more GDP than Russia, where the basis of GDP is mining. But when the war begins and the West imposes sanctions, cutting itself off from Russian resources. It turns out that these services don't really cost anything. And all your GDP, built on the indicators of the service sector, is actually false. Try to feed people with services or refuel the car with services. Without production, cultivation of agricultural products and mining, your GDP is just a soap bubble. As reality has shown.

The EU doesn't jump through any hoops. The money goes through the Gazprombank, which is handling all the moronic need-to-buy-worthless-rubles-with-goldtalers bullshit.

                1) pay off foreign debts
                2) balance the exchange rate of their own currency against others by selling off USD/GPD
                3) not everything is completely sanctioned

                >1) pay off foreign debts
Russia already defaulted on foreign debt on June 27th, 2022. Like they give a shit.

                >2) balance the exchange rate of their own currency against others by selling off USD/GPD
Exactly. That's about the *only* thing they can do with it, but it's not like it doesn't change all that much other than changing numbers on a billboard. It doesn't make more trade happen, it doesn't add value, it doesn't create jobs - it's just a numbers game at this point.

                >3) not everything is completely sanctioned
                Well enough is.

Like that in the US, too. I see some increase in prices, but it doesn't affect my shopping, really. Gas costs more, but i don't buy so much that it really hurts. What cracks me up is how the vatniks think energy shortages will break the EU this winter, even as its the hottest year on record.

                >What cracks me up is how the vatniks think energy shortages will break the EU this winter, even as its the hottest year on record.
Warm summer doesn't equal warm winter, but even if it did - their supply has been going down by 80% so far. EU's current gas storages are filled to 67.44%, and fill up by a rate of 0.31% per day, which is 9.3% per month. If the next three months were summer months they could reach 95% by the beginning of November.

However: if you take a look at Berlin's climate data you'll see that July is actually the warmest month of the year. August already sees a slight drop, and September and October see even worse drops, so it's unlikely they'll be able to sustain the current rate.

You realise of course that natural gaz is only 25% of Europe's heating and electricity ?
And that Russia only provide 45% of this.
Should Russia do a hard stop, Europe will at most have to ease consumption by 15% to get through.

                >You realise of course that natural gaz is only 25% of Europe's heating and electricity ?
I'm very weary of such statements since the Germans are ... known for exaggerating their renewable energy production data - but even if that were completely true it doesn't change the fact that natural gas is an important chemical input (provides hydrogen) that can't be replaced by nuclear energy.

But as I said, I don't trust those numbers. The trend has always been that gas storages fill up in summer and empty out in winter. The observable changes are low solar input and outside temperatures.

                >natural gas is an important chemical input (provides hydrogen) that can't be replaced by nuclear energy.
You can directly produce hydrogen from water with electrolysis, and there's no reason you couldn't use nuclear to generate the electricity. Its called Green Hydrogen. More expensive than getting it from natural gas but it's getting cheaper.

Ferrara and Le Havre, the two fertilizer production plants in Italy and France, generate a combined output of 900,000 mts of urea gas, requiring approximately 200,000 mts of hydrogen. For 1.1 tons of hydrogen one requires 9.1 tons of water and 39.4 MWh of energy, meaning that for 200,000 mts of hydrogen you'd need to consume 7.880 TWh and 1,820,000 tons of water (that also have to be purified to get rid of slag).

                I'm skeptical.

generally, price hikes are due to market speculation and, in some circumstances, the bastards just doing it because they have an excuse

let's take the price of electricity in the UK on week 2 of the invasion. the wholesale price was fixed so no customer should have felt any of the effects of any sanctions at that time, but electricity companies were using it as an excuse to hike our bills straight away.

or take the price of a humble frozen pizza. why has it increased by 15%? are we suddenly short of food because russia invaded ukraine? no, it's due to market speculation on shit like grain and food oils.

I hate to say it, but I think there may be something to complaints of poor Ukrainian training if the Russians are still advancing, even if slowly.

    https://twitter.com/GirkinGirkin/status/1553589858244902913

Doomkin says they've taken this town near Bakhmut. Despite the constant stream of HIMARs videos and the supposed fall of Russian artillery fire, the Ukrainians are still being pushed back. How badly are they trained and outfitted if they're falling back even without the Russians artying the shit out of them?

      Anonymous

Arty is still a problem, for one. Secondly, of course logistics and training is going to be an issue multiple months into a war where Russia have bombed the shit out of every bit of infrastructure they could get their grubby hands on. Unfortunately, the reality is that Ukraine is in a terrible position, because their country has been physically invaded by a neighbour, who has one of the most developed armies in the world in terms of amounts of material it can use, and the helpful attitude of not giving too much of a frick about its international reputation, nor its reputation to the civilians it is trying to absorb.

I see. Like I said I'm not a vatnig, I was genuinely trying to understand why Ukraine hasnt been doing so well despite the big booms we've been seeing, so thank you for the explanation.

Is there any way the US could be doing more to even the odds short of declaring war on Russia? We could send them more HIMARS but even if we blow up all the ammo dumps that still leaves the Russians being able to just zerg rush the Ukies even without artillery. What kind of weapons short of nukes (or chemicals) could we send that could exterminate vatnigs en masse?

          1. Keep training the urkanians to build a new-model army, expand the british training model to include a couple other countries - maybe set one up in Germany where US/Germ forces can train them. Maybe another in Poland.

          2. Open up the army reserve arsenals and ship over all the M113's, Humvees, M198's and .50's, Mk 19's, MTT's etc that are in storage to build up the army. Which would be a drop in the ocean for the US - the Sierra Army Depot alone has 26,000 vehicles in storage, and its just one of many such depos.
          >long term problem is solving the MBT issue, there are only so many T72's left to send to Ukraine and sans the US allowing the shipment of old-gen Abrams there seems to be no large armor pools left to tap.

Over time you can build up maybe an entire divisions worth of NATO trained and equipped soldiers who would then comprise the spearhead of some sort of counter-offensive by the start of next year. Rinse and repeat until the Ukranians have a couple divisions and can push the Russians out of the country in its entirety, maybe by the end of next year.

After two years of sanctions, massive war expenditures, massive casualties and military defeat the Russians will have no choice but to sit down and formalize some sort of agreement. Such treaty will have to be favorable to the Russians as they are insecure homosexuals so you will probably have to let them keep Mariople and have some sort of DMZ along the east of the country, but provided Ukraine keeps the gas and oil fields and can industrialize them in safety its a big win for the Ukraine, NATO and the EU.

I cannot stress enough that the priority is on the sinews of an army - guns, trucks, APC's, maintainers & trainers, and not on flashy shit like F-16's.

            >flashy shit like F-16's
The F-16 can launch a variety of munitions that would allow Ukraine to SEAD and hit targets further than HIMARS.

This is some good advice. I'm really sorry to ask this but would you mind if I copied and pasted this, or at least use some of its ideas, to email my senator? I'm just an anon (and an amerifat), I'm too lazy and my knees are too bad to volunteer and fight myself. Despite Biden at least sending HIMARs I get the feeling that US aid to Ukraine is too focused on that flashy stuff and we're just letting less flashy but more important logistical stuff (humvees, etc. you mention) languish in storage. Its not much but maybe complaining to my senators can get that changed.

There are already other countries assisting in the training, not sure if the Germans are part of it. But I know for a fact the Dutch marine core is.

you have an amusing idea of what "favorable to the russians" means. russia has made clear that the minimally acceptable terms are the annexation of all of so-called ukraine. "favorable" would be poland and the baltics out of NATO forever.

          >We could send them more HIMARS but even if we blow up all the ammo dumps that still leaves the Russians being able to just zerg rush the Ukies even without artillery
You're not correct. You can't just send all your army and occupy in a second.
You just create choke points and lose unimaginable amount of army resources with little to no gains.

He is correct but I still want to see it happening.
Russians charging without fire support would be a slaughter.
Europe bas three times the population of Russia. We can afford to field three million men without conscription if needed.
Doing so after Russia's most willing and best trained are dead would do wonder.
Doing so with US air support would let us march on Moscow.

A month of training in the UK would give them a massive advantage over the Russians. I hope they increase the rate of training.

I would guess also that this is advanced training. Like, these aren't raw recruits, theyve already done basic and foundational infantry skills. They might even be experienced troops getting some leadership skills/tactics to take back to train the new guys at home. NCO and/or junior officer stuff.

No these are beginners. They learn from scratch. All combat ready troops are at the Frontline. I know this because a family member of mine is part of the training mission.

reminder that france's army went on strike after the 2nd year and joffre hid this inconvenient fact from his allies and let them continue dying for a country their own army no longer supported. ukraine's army is nearly at that point after only 6 months of dying, and zelinsky is desperately trying to conceal that from his eurocuck allies and their troony gf usa.

        You goddamn stupid Black person...

This isn't France, Afghanistan, or even Syria, this is Ukraine. This is a war for national existence and every last Ukrainian soldier knows it. They know that if they lose this, they lose everything. For Russia, defeat would mean national humiliation, or Ukraine, it means ANNIHILATION.

Jesus Fricking Christ, you'd think a bunch of Hitler-saluting Neo-Nazis would be able to identify an existential war if they saw one but no.

Ukraine will never accept any agreement that concedes territory or allows Ukrainian citizens who were kidnapped at the start of the invasion to remain in Russian hands. The absolute best the Russians can hope for is keeping the territory they held on February 23, 2022 and they may be compelled to give up even that in exchange for a complete removal of economic sanctions.

Realistically, how long do western soldiers train? 3 months on average? During those 3 months, how much do they actually do soldier shit? and not just doing stupid shit, cleaning, ironing their uniform, shining their boots and cleaning their guns 10 times in a row so that a homosexual can wipe it with a white glove and not see a stain on it?
One month of actual training is more than enough.

What happens when Winter comes around and Europe mysteriously doesn't grind to a halt and beg Russia for gas? What will vatniks and /misc/Black folk do? Will it be just like the mass vaccine die-offs that continually mysteriously failed to occur?

To be fair, this winter will be harsh. But it's nowhere near the apocalyptic freeze that Russians are hoping :
We'll have to heat less and wear sweaters insiste.
Oh the agony... I'm sure our mild disconfort will warm the hearths of vatnik conscripts dying in trench under leased artillery.

At the risk of sounding like I'm manufacturing consent, I'm used to not turning on gas for heating in winter, so I'll be fine.
