What's the overpressure of a round leaving the barrel? Wouldn't that be enough to clear out some shitty craft glue and a bb?

Why would this work? Do you think glue is infinitely strong, instantaneously?

      Anonymous

The glue doesn't need to be strong at all, the damage is done by wedging the bb against the round in the barrel.

        Anonymous

        This would literally do nothing

Supposing it did though, why would the glue be necessary or do anything? It’s literally like air for a huge gun like that.

      Okay use super glue then

        Anonymous

        >have you ever used super glue? That shit takes a long time to dry if in any quantity greater than thickness of half a millimeter. Also it’s about as strong as tough plastic.

Can also be immediately removed with literally any solvent

The heat from the cannon discharging would dissolve the glue before the projectile has even reached the ball bearing.
You could glue the entire drone in there and the shell would just atomize the entire thing and send it out of the way.

        The kind that you're sniffing?

  4. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

The gun barrel needs to be just at the right angle and the mini-drone needs to be strong enough to carry the load.
Drones that small don’t have enough energy to last more than 15 minutes battery life before you have to charge them again.

The bb would need a small charge inside to expand it beyond the bore diameter. I'd prefer a reverse minie bullet over a bb for better sealing.

If you can make a drone that's so precise (would require AI assistance probably) that it can accurately fly up a barrel, then why not just have it carry some thermite/explosives to simply frick the barrel up from the inside?

      Not goofy enough.

Thermite is just ground up aluminum mixed with ground up rust. You could make thermite from the contents of the average trash can.

why not attatch a thermite warhead to the drone instead of a ball bearing and glue?

In 20 seconds I came up with a better, non-moronic idea.

Make the "ball" out of thermite & magnesium, some optimal mixture that burns fast and very hot.

Use a large drone as a mothership to launch a dozen or two micro-drones once the mothership is near a few guns. The AI software (can be hosted on the mothership & decisions broadcast to the microdrones) detects any opening that looks like the barrel of a large-ish gun, micro-drones suicide down the barrels, igniting the thermite/magnesium mixture.

Barrel now needs to be replaced, maybe the burning fire that cannot be extinguished also cause other damage that trashes the entire weapon or lands on random vatBlack folk standing under it and watching it burn. Mothership returns t base for more micro-drones.

Now, I'm not saying I like my idea all that much, or that it would be effective.

But, it took less than 20 seconds for me to come up with an idea that spanked the moronation right off your idea and turned it into something only semi-moronic.

    You're welcome.

    > Drones dropping or precisely emplacing burning packages of thermite/magnesium into/onto vulnerable targets is actually pretty genius and I'm sad I'm not in a position to make a profit off of it. Hopefully someone who can use this idea will see it. Feel free to spread it around and maybe Good Things will Happen.

      >The Year 2058
      >Depositor Drones exist
      >They loiter over the battlezone and can release swarms of thousands of short-range minidrones (named "wasps")
      >Each of them carries a few grams of explosives and flies straight to the nearest human-like target
      >They usually aim for the eyes

Good start, now do plastic explosives or a thermite shape charge down the barrel and destroy the round in the chamber.

  15. 1 year ago

this would be more effective with something like a small thermite charge

If you must go the barrel obstruction route, what about a drone that flies down the barrel and then welds itself in place?

      Anonymous

Just make a barrel from several pieces that detaches from the welded part forward, thanks to sensors and a computer that sends the "cut off from here" signal LMAO
Suddenly, you have a usable barrel again.

That's what I was thinking as well, just put a mechanical something at the front to close the barrel and have it open just a split second before the shot.

    hello homosexual.
    >>seek out anything that looks like a large gun barrel and fly right down it, then deploy glue
this is preposterously beyond any current tech.
Instead have an operator fly it up to the barrel
use some system with claws to attach to the barrel.
Shoot a live grenade into the barrel moron,
or even better some kind of charge that will inutilize the gun and hopefully the tank itself. instead of muh glue or some other moronation.
there I fixed your idea so now it would sort of work.

Glue probably wouldnt work, replace it with a tiny HE charge and more malleable metal and it unironically would work if you could get it to reliably fly down barrels. Would cost a lot more than 100$ bucks though. Glue probably wouldnt seal well enough and the obstruction might clear, might not. More reliable method would be a small amount of HE effectively swaging the more malleable metal to the bore. Round comes through and you get a classic squib load situation resulting in a KB.

Doubt this would work as well as you hope. You're better off cramming an incendiary grenade down the barrel.

Better off just making the payload an abandonment charge.

Battery life for both the drone and camera, the likely shit resolution of the camera due to being so cheap, the fact that AI isn't fricking magic (you could use a picture of bananas to be basically invisible to self driving cars at one point lmao), inevitable friendly fire if you could somehow get it to do what you want, and on and on. Better idea, use the grenade dropping drones you already have and engineer a HEAT round usable by them. Probably not too much smarter but infinitely more feasible.

    >blue and a BB
if you're already that close why not drop an explosive inside of the barrel?
make a "1 inch diameter" round grenade if you want, but an explosive is better than a metal ball and glue like its fricking looney tunes
