Ground is not frozen hard enough for mechanized assault. That's why this latest push is all infantry. Ukraine will have to break probably multiple defensive lines to seize their next group of targets about 40 miles back from the LOD. So infantry is not really an option and they have to wait another week or so if they want to do another armored counterattack

They used pallets and forklifts in Soviet Union, just not the army. Actual industries that had to deal with some economic realities even during communist era. Soviet army and Russian army after it didn't need forklifts and pallets. They had endless supply of conscripts to menial work like loading and unloading trains and trucks by hand.

We had some footage of a ammo depot that was originally Ukrainian, captured by Russians and taken back by Ukrainians in spring or summer, they had something that wasn't exactly pallets to separate ammo crates from floors and humidity. Basically foot long pair of planks separated by two or three inches pieces of wood at each end that were effectively... non pallets.

    >Mr Putin, I'm FSB.
    >He wasn't alone.
    >Uh, you don't get to bring logistics.
    >They are not my logistics.
    >Don't worry. No charge for them.
    >And why would I want them?
    >They were trying to grab your airfield. They work for the paratrooper. The beretta man.
    >VEH DEH VEH?
    >*nods*
    >Get em on board, I'll call it in.
    >The invasion plan I just filed with the chiefs of staff lists me, my men, Mr. Putin here but only one of you! First one to talk gets to jump from my aircraft!
    >Who paid you to post Monkey Putin? *bang* He didn't land so good!
    >Tell me about Veh Deh Veh! Why does he wear the beret? A lot of loyalty for a fresh conscript!
    >Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before sending them to Hostomel Airfield?
    >At least you can talk. Who are you?
    >It doesn't matter who we are. What matters are our losses. No one cared who I was until I put on the beret.
    >If I drop you off at the airfield will you die?
    >It would be extremely painful.
    >You're an elite unit.
    >For us.
    >Is getting surrounded part of your plan?
    >Of course! Mr Putin refused sane plans in favor of deploying us. We had to find out what fire support he sent us.
    >Nothing! I sent nothing!
    >well congratulations! You've got yourself sortied! Now what's the next step of your assault plan?
    >Opposed combat drop. WITH NO SURVIVORS!
    >NO! They expect one of us in the BMD, brother.
    >Have we started the blunder?
    >Yes! The blunder unfolds.
    >Calm down President! Now is not the time for economic collapse. That comes later.

    Hollow Force.
The US is right there as well. The next fight America is involved in will be slightly less embarrassing than this has been.

Russia is proof that modern militaries are dog shit after years of trying to float bloated budgets for literally nothing.

That's like saying parachutes are useless after someone died falling out of a plane because their parachute have been replaced by an umbrella. Russian army isn't shit because it's 'modern' or big, it's shit because corruption means their gear is shit, their people are shit (everyone who is not a dumbass bribes out of conscription and people can buy promotions, conscripts are used as slave labour in construction), and conscripts have low moral, relying on a rotation of conscripts means you don't have career professionals like volunteer armies.

Holy shit, watching Global News National Jan 13th, they removed a live grenade that was lodged in a Ukrainian soldier's chest! 15:38
